Morning Pearl

opaline oyster
     pricelessly squeeze milk
          into allspice tea
             silvery hair gleams
                     cream floats ivory —
                            pearl last crumb of bun

A luminous little pearl of a poem—its cascading visual form beautifully mirrors the slow, creamy descent through tea, milk, ivory, and finally pearl. The opaline palette feels rich and tactile, while the final “crumb of bun” grounds the elegance in a tender, domestic detail.🫖🧁
