At Night

buried dark, daysky
shorn hair from Etain
pedestal opens
now walking eggshells
none will see her fall

welcome midnight
her profile's dab
with missing light —
phantasmic yolk.

foggy pane
more a face
watches glass;

half there
oval

pitch

Well written! Walking eggshells, common, but then you give us phantasmic yolk! More a face becomes an eerie image. ✍️📖🌹

I like how egg shells went along with the yolk line. Great poetry form you used here

With its mysterious and dreamlike quality, this poem effectively creates an atmosphere of intrigue, Paige. The imagery is unique and leaves a lot to ponder, effectively capturing the essence of night.

Dear Paige, I love how you let the imagery stay fractured: Etain’s shorn hair, the eggshell walk, that “phantasmic yolk” hovering like a light that forgot its source. The whole piece reads like someone trying to stay upright in a darkness that keeps shifting shape. It’s eerie, and beautifully pared down. You make the diminished hexaverse feel. Blessings, Daniel

Ohhhh this is patch dark rage! And phantasmic angst that you've presented here so exquisitely dear Paige! Your language here is really profound and sets the atmosphere in such a mysterious way ~ I've never tried a diminished hexaverse ever i think, but you did it with all the poetic vigour that has inspired me! Walking on eggshells.. sigh definitely related with that! Life sometimes! Very thought-provoking as always ~ keep writinnnn and shininnn my sweet friend!! Hugszzzz 🫂🌹 🧚 🧚 💫 💫
