Sunbeam warms my face,
drags me faintly from my dreams--
the hush of morning
covers me in tranquil vow,
a new chance to start again.
Sun peeps through curtains,
gets under my dozy skin-
day begins with hope.

The pushing pelvis,
the slippery and new -
minus recall.
Amnesia drone
coming or going
home,
cyclic rebirth,
peddling hard to uncertainty.
Dozy or bright
dynamo light
self-made
doomed to fade
uphill and over
pushing through
toward an ill-defined 'it.'
A lifelong nap,
a newborn holler
into the latex catcher's mitt.
Headlong life buzz.
Squeezing through forgetfulness.
Born again into the holy whirlpool,
of - what to do next,
eat, crap, join something.
Leap or roll
through the big paper ring,
burst into the unknown
as the cheering dies.

THIRSTY
My thirst oozing with champagne in goblet
Melting into our mutual craving
Following indigo line on sunset
Misty dusty dusk, sky is engraving.
The tingling tremor, the lingering urge
Watching dormant desires being drowsy
Effervescence of love cascades to surge.
Amour oscillates somnolent dozy.
We float and sink in pearly passion
Dear , come closer! My most precious gem!
Memories of our love are in procession
Our ethereal unison to claim.
I am yours you are mine, fledged forever,
In Earth or Heaven, joint endeavour.

This poem is based upon 'Landscape with the Fall of Icarus' by Pieter Bruegel
Also inspired by Musée des Beaux Arts by W. H. Auden~
No farmer or merchant felt the sound
That Icarus made when he had drowned
Icarus splashed and kicked and flailed!
Dying, crying to those who sailed
“Help me, help me! Direct your course!”
But those merchants felt no remorse
Icarus gave a final wish
To a man attempting to bait fish
Dozy, the fisher went to sleep
Then Icarus died, and none would weep
And a farmer who had heard his needs
Pretended he didn’t to plant his seeds
Since that painting it’s been years so long
Yet I find Bruegel was never wrong
No one ever feels the pain
Another Icarus has attained
So where is Icarus now?
We are an Icarus when out with blues
We read of Icarus in sickening news
We see an Icarus in city streets
Begging, craving for food to eat
And though the media bickers this,
The world just won’t stop for Icarus

Sniffs of cotton candy glide
Glistening like hairy sugar bombs
Through barns of dozy prized cows
Stinky squeaky piggies squeal off-key
While whirligig Ferris Wheels grind and spin
In the hum of the Tilt-A-Whirl and giddy voices

A female gymnast in Romania
Sweet girl's name is Nadia
Went to a castle passed Brasov
A legendary castle, not of Romanov
Elegant and so cozy
To stay is nonchalant and dozy
Fictional character hailed once
People's world quivered more than once
Nadia kept coming back
In the said castle with a knack
Fell asleep one time waiting
In Bram Stoker's baiting
The night so dim in the scene
As a knight comes out with sheen
But the night crumbled with pangs
Nadia and the knight bitten with fangs
From the bed Nadia dropped on the floor, screaming
... a dream!

It's a dull and rainy overcast day
A day to stay in and be cosy
Gaze out the window and dream of stuff
As you start to feel quite dozy
Time to write some clever rhymes
As you don your creative chapeau
Bout magical places and scary dragons
Or a scene with the sky all aglow
Maybe macabre like Edgar Allan Poe
Or happy like a Disney named Walter
Perhaps one 'bout the world's great wonders
Like the famous Rock of Gibraltar
Skies the limit let your mind run free
To a world beyond distant stars
To mythical places with exotic names
And customs strange and bizarre
Love them best, these days that inspire
Sweet visions of maidens fair
Days that expand your creative mind
As you climb those celestial stairs

The place I lived when I was ten
I sometimes think of there and then,
And when I'm drowsing in my chair
My dozy thoughts go back to there.
I rest nearby a fireside glare
A glass in hand and here is where
I think of things I used to do
When I was merely eight and two.
But this was when my world was new,
And in the hours before I grew,
Outside the door and down the way,
For, this is where I used to play.
When all the words I used to say
Concerned such things as came that day.
I hear the songs I used to sing
And all the joy that they would bring.
No more I live where I was king
Yet still the memories from there ring.
I've been aside so long a time
Yet still the memories from there chime.
So, as I dream of days, sublime;
As recollections higher climb;
I sometimes, now, remember when...
And how I wish that I was ten.

Sitting in my lawn chair tanning
On my little patch of asphalt,
Many things I see occurring
I normally just would not see.
Like spiders spinning dinner webs,
Butterfly on its way somewhere,
Loose leaves blowing around on lawns
And emmets running race car speeds.
I hear the rustle of tree leaves
In summer breezes in my trees,
The roar of municipal trucks
And heavy things get moved around.
Once in a while I’ll see a plane
High in my sky of blue up there,
Many people fling somewhere
And I will say a prayer for them.
Sitting in my lawn chair tanning,
Relaxing…I take it all in…
Deep in my dozy mind and fade
Into this summer afternoon.

I sit in tranquility adorned about like a warm cape
Drink in the serenity until my heart is completely full
In nature’s beauty I feel the lush living landscape
In such a rich world I can never resist it’s outside pull
A dozy dawn arrives generous with trilling bird sound
As the sun rises above to warm all the little chilly spaces
And mist tangles mountains to keep them earthbound
Mellow tangerine glow wisps around clouds pink faces
The trees plump with raindrops, glisten with diamond stars
Against the azure blue of morn my sleepy eyes waken
From high sits my window to see the view like a bazaar
Full of days first beginnings to be sipped not forsaken

When I thought of dreamland
Sleeping
The dozy dreams-cape dazing
Deep into that darkness shuddering
Nightmares
I crave the trembling, thudding tingle
In my shrieking, I could not awaken
Chattering and chattering with my fairy tale
Am I in dreamland
Shall I dream now
Quietly
Yawning, rubbing my eyes
In my shrieking, I awaken
As ghouls throw its ghost against the dreamscapes
Remembering many thudding, epic nocturnes
Is this a nightmare or is it cramps, pangs and pain from something I ate
I'm in dreamland my nightmares got me by the hand
Please, please somebody wake me for in my dreams I'm scared
Nightmares
Keeping me in fear in here DrEaMlAnD

fog
logs
widely
slowly
on the air
on the bier
touches cat feet
hugs ram soft fleece
the ship lively move
harbor greets as grove
whistle comes in dozy
fog smoke covers noisy
a cup of tea on port gate
barking in cold dog afraid
no snow but the sun feels winter
cubic fog send ray to vintner
paths produces a lot of paths to walk
but untouched all look like great in dark
fog comes and rubs out my sight near and far
lose all to catch up in ghostly smoke bar

Alice in Unreality Land
Tweedle Dee was acting frivolously dumb,
Whilst Mock Turtle’s face sullen and glum.
Not unusually White Rabbit was late,
Alice grew large compressed in a gate.
Absent minded Dodo, helpful so polite,
Gryphon has wings but cannot take flight.
A Cat from Cheshire grinning ear to ear,
The Queen has a King, so kindly my dear.
Remover of Monsters our Lizard man Bill,
Caterpillar smokes Hookah with obstinate will.
March Hare so ridiculous, loudly insane,
Dozy Dormouse in Teapot doesn’t complain.
Unbirthday parties of a Hatter so mad,
Duchess is curious, neither good nor bad.
Lewis Carroll wrote a surreal world of confusion,
A curiosity tale filled of unreality and illusion.
