Sunbeam warms my face,
drags me faintly from my dreams--
the hush of morning
covers me in tranquil vow,
a new chance to start again.

Sun peeps through curtains,
gets under my dozy skin-
day begins with hope.

Better than beginning with an alarm clock. Don't know why I typed that, maybe because I was rudely awaken that way for 35 years or so! Shame on me, being sarcastic takes my comments far away from the beauty of your poem. I'm known to be inappropriate. I know this feeling, it is rare, precious and excellently delivered by your pen. On such a morn, I'd roll on to my back, bed linger and smile. You truly poetically captured the feel, at least for me you certainly did. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Hi Rowena, this is such a gentle and quietly uplifting piece. It reads like the first stretch of morning — soft, serene, and full of promise.
