Reflection

Though my world view become tarnished with age,
Let my imagination not so follow.
May its memory burn bright with the vigor of eager youth,
Happy to confront the dichotomy of discovery,
Which doesn't comport with my upbringing, my schooling, or my experience.
Only then will my self-worth meet the expectation of my promise.
Only then will I fulfill the destiny that Providence allows.

That pool can magnify, fool, or obscure.
But down at the bottom, that pool can cure.

I guess I'm sorry though

It's been a year now
And I'm still hooked up
With the one who'll never know
But let's cross this small ramp

Truth be told
I never liked you
Others might say I'm quite cold
But I was trying something new

I guess I'm sorry though
As you where there so I called you a distraction
Pull me out of the dark but I was still in the blue
A heart once broken beyond compare
While you where there to pick up and care

I guess I'm sorry though
Yes,I used you as my muse
But my heart never fell in your hands
I took you as my happiness, a new beginning , the one I could use
Thought it was better to flee from the land

I guess I'm sorry though
For going with the flow
Letting my imagination run wild
My mind be filled with lies even though I knew the truth
I couldn't help it though
As the thought of being in your hands made me feel mild
Hiding the sadness of my life I pretended to be blind
Not by love , but by what you offered

Something I cannot explain
I guess I'm sorry though
But I want you to know
Yes, I like you just not enough to love you

ASPIRATION

My greatest wish is to be your object of desire, my beloved

Bright Flower

There, contrasting stark and grey,
From which it stands apart,
It sprouts and blooms in striking pose,
Despite a bane of art.

It reaches out, attracting fame
In willingness to love.
Seems hope that frees itself from doubt
Is worth the knowledge of.

Aspiration

With a gesture of hello
I say goodbye,
Like a thank you,
I'm sorry.

Yours, mine, ours,
Our hearts' rhythms,
Yours, mine, ours,
In the fleeting colors,
Like haze over the mountain peak,
Slowly starting to fade away.

When I wake in the morning,
I remember,
The smile, the voice,
The figures of the ones we love.

I peer into your eyes,
Reflecting a vast, blue sea.

What do you see
Reflected in my eyes?

In the gentle afternoon breeze,
Softly whisper to me,
The secret scenes
In my eyes.

With a gesture of hello, I embrace you,
Saying goodbye, yet still, I hold you close,
Like a thank you, with a shy smile,
I'm sorry, then, until we meet again someday.

Aspiration

Each one wants money
Everyone wants more for sure
Self-worth value more.

Nighttime hypnotic dreams flow
a starry heart swirls
heavenly sequins sparkle,
gold moonlight reflects off crystal seas
an evening full of wonder
an exquisite tapestry, a secret story,
pure opal-colored mist
as you moonwalk, be astounded.

A whispered melody carries
the allure of a summer night
pearly moonlight falls on trees,
a gleaming breeze-kissed track
lucid, synchronized star trails
floating akin to a precious gem
origami nebulae with avid care,
sparks seldom appear quiet
dwarf firefly with jewel-like lights
fliers soar through the night,
exuberant filigree wings
their gentle glow soothes Void.

Amidst the mayhem, we have visions
a global canvas upholds hope
vivid acrylics fit well with warm ochres,
creativity abounds as the sun sets
the glow of a fantasy is stellar
a soft glow leads the way
glitter and dance are in sync,
Incredible for everybody
night gradually awakens
this grand adventure fuels dreams,
fireflies are lighting up our path
woods and meadows hide secrets
light reveals verdant grass.
altering the location.

I'll read you in stars, for my last supper.
I follow you in blooms and clouds, today
I Hear your breezeways, you're time wrapper
I'll read you in stars, for my last supper.
I taste you in my mind with grave pucker
Verses stay, wounds scathe, Poet turns to clay.
I'll read you in stars, for my last supper.
I follow you in blooms and clouds, today.

A Paragon For Nigerian Youths

Like a cheetah that's a natural born sprinter
Tobi Amusan is the world fastest female sprinter
And like an American Quarter Horse
Tobi Amusan has become a discourse

Having proven to be the world best
In Oregon's and Birmingham's contest
The hurdler's emergence is certainly unsudden
A lesson for he who with his ambition plays chicken

Like every tree with a seed to bear a kind of fruit
Every youth is challenged by this to be resolute
If only we have a sense of acuteness
Every man is created with a seed of greatness

Whoever isn't resolute with his seed is a failure
And a failure is always a lone creature
Except your seed becomes a gigantic tree
No one will come to you like they gather for apple bee

Tobi Amusan has become a market of horny bee
And a gigantic tree for everyone to come and see
The kind of paragon every youth need to bear a good fruit
Maybe by this they too can become resolute

That in spite of our system that kills impetus
Or the hurdle or detritus that life may bring to us
Like Tobi Amusan, we too can glide over such
To be congratulated like she whose records bear a good touch

Premium Member Someday I Shall Fly Higher

Someday I shall fly higher than the eagle
Soar to the top of these majestic hills,
I shall breathe free and feel, oh, so regal
The sky, my kingdom, with rapture fills.

Soar to the top of these majestic hills
Where pines towering above green valleys
The sky, my kingdom, with rapture fills,
I shall reap applause with grand finales.

Where pines towering above the valleys
Reaching for the vast heavens far beyond,
I shall reap applause from grand finales
With a carefree abandon nature spawned.

Reaching for the vast heavens far beyond
I rise higher into a promising atmosphere
With a carefree abandon nature spawned,
At last, learning my reason for being here.

I rise higher into a promising atmosphere
I shall breathe free and feel, oh, so regal,
At last, learning my reason for being here
Someday I shall fly higher than the eagle.

The Fog

THE FOG

The fog moves in without a sound
and covers everything around...
colors are muted, shapes are not seen,
time moves slowly as if in a dream.

Wandering around in this place of gloom,
it feels like I'm trapped in some secret room,
where up is down, and circles are square -
there is a way out but I don't know where.

Suddenly the fog just disappears
and I realize I've been trapped here for years.
I understand that my life is almost gone
and so many beliefs I held onto were wrong.

I'm getting close to the twilight of my years
and yes, I have some regrets, but I have no tears.
I make a promise to myself, while I still can,
that my life must be more than just an also ran.

There are things I want to learn, want to do...
each day I want to try something new -
perhaps just a good faith effort on my part
to finish whatever it is I start.

The fog will envelop me some day, I know,
and when it does and it's time to go...
I want to leave this world and take my place
with my head held high and a smile on my face.

Premium Member The Blanket

To keep you warm and safe
A mother use a blanket
To make you feel too comfort
To get up
To keep you well-fed warm and safe
A country use a policy
Called aspiration
To boost you up
To make you always on the alert
To work hard

The Undying Aspiration

THE UNDYING ASPIRATION.
Looking around for something
Searching about to see anything
Now I found a thing
Just to realize it was nothing.

I search for it in the sky
Limited my dreams to my sight
Lifted my eyes and all I could do was to sigh
At the twinkling stars popping in the sky.

Then it seemed I was engaged in a duel
All I wanted was just to get a clue
To a dream which I thought will suit
My aspired accolades which I felt was due.

I imagined if I could see beyond it
Then remembered the sky is not my limit
It seemed to be like an irrational fit
Covered with challenges and plights.

All together, I decided to fly
With caution, attention and to ply
Through hurdles which were like a Nile
And obstacles which as a fox sly.
With strength, I got to the fit,
Where my dreams could be achieved
And no one could bring it down with any .
