Default

Reset my conscience
But you always stay the same
My default is you

My Default

I am so scared to fall for another again
Completely terrified
I don't want to be hurt like the last time
Something I heard that always stuck with me, "You can't control how another hurts you, but you can control how you choose to respond to it."
People who thought they knew love, wounded me
Love didn't hurt me
It nourished me 
It sat with me when I was completely and utterly alone
It never left me through all the darkness and hurt
It never judged 
It never ridiculed
It never abused 
It just loved  
And because of that 
I will continue to believe in love 
I will continue to have faith in love 
My heart only continues to grow stronger because of love 
My path becomes clearer because of love 
Yes, my heart did not know how to protect or guide its self from another that fabricated love 
But it became its own protector 
Its own warrior 
But no matter the hurt 
No matter the pain
No matter what 
I can't just turn my back on love 
Love will always have a place by my side 
And that will always be my default

Fault Lines In Default

If you choose default,
who's to blame, at fault,
when fault lines fail?
Is it He/She or Me?

Default

Politicians ready to bet
Will play with the national debt
They think they control
How the dice will roll
But may cause a gambler’s regret


Authors note: Last time this happened, the Federal Government shut down and stopped making payments to its employees. The air traffic controllers who were working without pay started a slow down and President Trump decided to give in rather than face a catastrophe. 

This time, it looks more serious as some in Congress feel they can use the debt limit to force concessions. This could get very ugly in June. Imagine if social security payments stop. Until then, the government will use accounting tricks to pay our obligations. Of course, we should reduce spending and adjust taxation for fairness and to promote the health of our planet, but we need a long-term sensible negotiated bipartisan plan for that.

Default Positions

Nothing hurts more
than the blunted arrow
the grazing punch,
the half-slur.
Insinuation
from a sibilant slander 
whispered to a sleeping cat
haunts many ears.

She was a woman dammed to be
a love for me. My curse
was to desire her.
We were a cage-fight for passions
yet in the end
no one was hailed a winner,
we limped away
damaged by near misses.

Nothing stings
as much as a sharp pen
made to snap and scratch
upon a blank page.
People will read,
peer between lines 
that are not there.

Swear they knew all a long
we were flailing beneath
a hurricane that had no eye
and a storm that had no teeth.

Fault and Default

Lots of things simply aren’t my fault
         But then, some are…clearly by default.

All the young Jews,
all the young Christians,
all the young Muslims,
debt to confuse

Abraham crying,
prophesy fading,
hellish debentures

having a bad or off day

A hollow victory is still a victory
to some, it still gets your name
engraved on the trophy

Dream Job Murderer By Default

A teacher will at some ask of you ?

What do you want to be when you
grow up ?

And as i owned a train set my dream
job always was to be a train driver

And so one day when i grew up
the opportunity came my way
and i grabbed it with both hands

And happy was i very much to
go to work each day

Until one day some man i never knew 
threw himself underneath my train

And in doing so not only killed 
himself but turned me into an
all be it unwilling accomplice to 
his murder as well by default

And in the end lost his job being deemed no longer fit to work 

Because eventually under constant
attack took to the bottle to drive the nightmare from his sleep

Because even by default and him
being an unwilling accomplice 

He was still in fact party to a murder

Error By Default

No one 
Never seen God 
Ever sees his Men God 

No one can hide from God 
Very wide the eyes of God 

No one God to witness 
No Men is given this fitness 

God is in complete at him no fault 
Men are incomplete error made by default

Drugs: A Lifestyle Default

Right here, right now, every day of my life, 
I return to nothing at all,
Back to the place of four walls and a chair, 
Back to a lifestyle default,

Where I can hear the voice whisper to me, 
Close my eyes and see the voice dance,
Where I know the one true love of my life, 
Is my solitary four twenty plant,

You see, way down inside in the deeper than deep, 
It’s the place where I feel the most,
It’s the way I can live after the day has occurred, 
Where I snuggle belief, trust and hope,

I’m alone with nothing on detention again, 
Detention with my very best friend,
Where I will discuss and talk about life, 
With this love living up in my head.
