The glimmer in their eyes, they’re struck by your complexion.
What they would give to have that same reflection
to walk into a room and feel every head just turn
it’s a power, it’s a skill, but not one you can learn.
No matter what you say, no matter what you do
they’re all transfixed, glued to the screen that lights up on you.
You’re shining brighter at every look, with every breath that you took. In blue or red or sparkling black, all the colours have your back.
The leading character of every play,
everyone holds on to the words you say.
You’re a precious stone no one could pawn
you hold them all, heartstrings you’ve torn.
What I must know, before you go
how does it feel to erupt such magic?
I can’t imagine to invite such passion,
wearing all these shades of tragic.
All I want is just a fraction of their desire, their satisfaction.
If I’m close to you, will I feel brand new?
Will the shimmer reach across to me, too?
Or as I said not too long ago, is it something I’ll just never know?
For I can’t change what it is they see; the one they want, well it isn’t me.
There is hidden beauty in the darkness of space,
That carves amazement on each scholar's face,
Where stars are born of nebula and fire,
Where gravity ruthlessly bends space to it's desire,
Heaven's eye explodes into a supernova so bright,
It's dying breath radiating both destruction and light,
From death the phoenix is reborn based on mass and gravity,
A Neutron star or Blackhole from mass, G-force and density,
Older dwarf stars cry out with their dying glow,
As they cool down slowly while losing light to show,
Gracefully aging as their light dims and fades,
As young scientists study them to get better grades,
Luminous Quasars still radiate their blinding light with such intensity,
As we witness through telescopic lenses the brightest light to humanity,
Through the metal satellites with lenses that hover and rove above
We get a glimpse into the ancient story of our creator's love,
We see the ghost of time reveal our future, past and our present place,
As we witness galaxies in the universe expand from the forgotten embrace,
The Big Bang brought out the true echoes of eternity,
Of a universe endlessly expanding into the dawn of infinity.
As long as I see the sky, I know gemmed sparkle ~ follows dogged blues.
A light in my hands,
Wonder in my eyes,
No one understands
My glowing surprise!
Do you see with me,
As I gape and stare?
Will you catch for me,
This fire light I bear?
Little I am now,
But will soon grow up,
Learn the why and how
This bottle glows, yup!
Look at me, I shine,
Happiest today!
All dazzle is mine,
With this lamp, I'll play!
Picture #3
I heard footsteps approaching, and two knocks on my door.
I thought it was Oluchi, an angel recreated in human form.
I opened with curiosity to behold my priceless gem.
Stretching my hands to her waist, I felt the thick darkness in my palms.
“Who's there?”
A cool breeze greeted me, leaving the dazzling moon to gaze at me.
Is it my grandmother's mmuo?
My Chi whispered, “it is Ogbunabali”.
My heart danced to the beating of ogidi.
My thoughts flew faster than an air plane.
Maybe he saw when I came out of Oluchi’s hut.
No! When I hugged Chukwudi’s wife.
Ogbunabali, prince of the night, carrier of death.
Please spare my life; a kingsman, my wife and my farmland are all I have.
Then came another piercing knock, when I opened,
I saw a figure, like an Iroko tree,
his roundish head with a torch on it,
a goat skin bag and a gun hanged across his shoulder.
“Ebuka, are you not coming for a hunt tonight?”
Ah!! My thoughts and my game.
The vestments of Aaron the High Priest stood out
Their striking beauty brought about
heightened expectations from the hushed crowd
as the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies in a cloud
of incense, carrying the names of each tribe on his breast
seeking G-d’s pardon, that His people He bless…
trembling, humble – though dazzling in appearance
Aaron pleaded Israel’s case with iron-willed perseverance
________________________________________________
Above is a stylized description of the entrance of Aaron, the
High Priest, into the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle, on Yom
Kippur, when the Tabernacle was carried from place to place
during the forty years that the Israelites' sojourned in the
Sinai Desert. (3,300 years ago).
If this increasing darkness conveys a fear not chided,
as ghostly shadows conspicuously confer mystery:
do I hide or firmly resist being threatened
by their miserable aspect of susceptibility?
Anxiety builds fret inside first slowly, then rapidly?
I squeeze and snuggle a fluffy pillow deep red,
expecting the worse nightmare to appear;
agitated by eerie sounds, I invoke the Almighty!
Dazzling sunrise, come quickly to dissolve
the confinement that obscurity has created;
fog rises, owls scatter seeing glints above...
even bats escape from the awakening world!
A gloomy night such as this is not made for romance,
shivering poet, stay away from the delusive pretense,
the drummer's beats would be more somber
than your verses: be realistic, not a dreamer!
Neither the starlight nor the bright of day
could end the darkness that confined my soul
But the spark of your eyes, to which I turned my gaze
Illuminated my life, and made it whole.
It's a beautiful evening as we wait in line to board our boat
Autumn is in the air we require a light coat
The Mississippi River waters rejoice in the glowing moonlight
We are greeted by the captain encouraging us to kick back and enjoy the night
Once aboard a flight of stairs, we must climb with a three-course dinner as our reward
The food arrives such a culinary delight with our glasses to welcome the wine soon to be poured
On deck a jazz band tunes up to create beautiful music we can dance to
Our chance to show our moves with perhaps something new
Our journey down the majestic river is about to begin
A paddle boat passes all lit up such a dazzling display
With all the stunning sights we are about to see along the way
A picture postcard we must create, lasting memories here to stay
On our way to New Orleans, a destination wedding awaits
My daughter and future son in law starting their new life together with fond memories soon to create
Feeling so much joy on your very special day
Your strong love for each other will surely bring you much happiness along the way
Beating hearts and souls now as one
Planning your life together is sure to be fun
The big day has finally arrived the heavens have granted us bright sunshine
As I walk my daughter down the aisle I feel such a great sense of pride
She looks so dazzling lit up with love so grand
Soon to join with the groom a big-hearted talented man
With the beautiful ceremony now complete
Time to celebrate let our hair down and go dancing in the street
After a long flight, our plane is about to touch down
The city of Paris awaits so many new memories about to be found
Off to the Eiffel Tower for dinner a month-watering culinary delight
Just the beginning of what promises to be a wonderful night
The view from the top is second to none with its lights shining bright
With our fantastic meal now complete a short walk to the hotel hand in hand such a delight
A romantic evening with champagne, dark chocolate truffles, and scented candles await
Tonight a French dinner cruise on the Seine ours to partake
Seeing the Mona Lisa portrait at the Louvre staring back at me
The Palace Of Versailles with its dazzling hall of mirrors and amazing vaulted ceilings
Last day for sightseeing lots of eye-popping architecture to discuss
Thank you, Paris for all the love you have shown us
Put to rout Darkness' hounds
Invite Heaven's Light to shine on down
Kind words and deeds all year 'round
On your head two dazzling crowns
from hazy pastel shades of blue
bound by storms
a fiery glow
smooth and shiny
zigzags of xanthous and marigold
zooming the horizon
rolling tyrolean choric runes
exquisitely enhanced wall murals
with a flaxen-colored scheme.
as well as soloists
dazzling tangents and
waves of origami art
tune tones and beguile the waves
to an oneiric shimmer
