X marks the spot
By Michelle Morris

Step through the door
X marks the spot
Lined up myself with
That red dot

She takes her aim
She makes the shot
Now I'm dead
Nothing to stop

All sins forgotten
All faith restored
My soul needs saving
It's time to soar

She's on the run
Again and again
My only connection
My only friend

She screams into the void
She's terrified but free
There's always a part of her
That will wish she was me

Night Shine

Night falls in neon showers
Here in the nocturnal simmer of summer
slick city blacktops spark electric.

The juiced-up take to their cars,
pull into fast food haunts
where glazed eyes
return to two-way mirrors,
others fall without noticing
into a numb subliminal hum
an electric divining of something bad
to come.

An ear crawling buzz,
the static clutter of criminal minds
distorts the crests of overheated airwaves.
distant thunderheads pop like
galvanic mushrooms.
Light bulbs vanish
behind lighthouse eyes.

Under a canopy of magnetic shine
liquor stores promote a glow and fizzle,
a hissing power that backlight's
both beer can and bottle,

and we who drink
are thankful for the way
such strung-out needs carry us
in and out of our dreams

until, of course, as always,
a stark, accusatory dawn
jangles its steel-bright
jailhouse keys.

Criminal Minds

The guy who had long hair, now looks worse with short,
one chap looks so serious all the time, more than he ought;
strange that people like watching murder as tho' it's normal,
personally, I prefer something somewhat more magical.

American drama is paramount, Selleck past his sell-by date,
in fact, content is so prolific, it all starts to become second-rate;
La Brea is outrageous, I like weird but that's just stupid,
whoever wrote it, dreamed it up, their taste was insipid.

I used to think that BBC drama was weak, embarrassing,
but maybe not so bad after all, perhaps we like boring;
I read Mansfield was jealous of Monroe, JFK had the pair,
after 'dealing' with her, he had the time to stand and stare.

We live in fiction, even our own lives are completely unreal,
you like watching murder, careful you're not arrested for how you feel.

Premium Member Scars

“Scars only show us where we have been.
They do not dictate where we are going.”*
They are a timeline of the how and when,
Knowledge of the past they are bestowing.

We cannot run away from who we are.
No matter where we go, we are there.
Whether physical or mental scars,
Our past will follow us everywhere.

Instead, we can let our scars be our guides
And not let them dictate where we go
By making our future what we decide,
And learn from our mistakes as we grow.

*Quote from Criminal Minds

Night Shine

Night falls in showers
of neon, and the blacktops spark electric.
The town takes to its cars
and pulls into fast food joints.
People just sits there
in the lots smoking and razing
or just crying quietly and alone.
Other's gather in backyards to drink;
In the lulls between the talk-talk
they tune-in to the distant scuffle
of criminal minds
getting chased around
by sweating cops in their buzzing blues.
When the summer night seeps into our skin
it sings a thousand sad songs,
a velvety shine heals
lonely hearts and the joyful.
The liquor stores glow bright
long into the sleepless night
because we need them
even when we don’t need them,
but we like the way they
carry folks in and out of their
fitful dreams
like cups of cool water.

Fear rises in the back of my throat
Like saliva, it sputters in my mouth
Eroding my senses with apprehension
Reminiscing with dread of night tremors
Touching cold bones with a caress
From the criminal minds who blast
Darkness into the light, yearning for
Storms that will allow them to fight
All the gentle thoughts that might come
Into the heart who knows that this night
Halloween, is merely a holiday, not a
Dreaded gloomy nocturnal dreamscape

Happy Day, everyone !!!

Premium Member Fascinated By the Worst of the Worst

I am fascinated by the worst of the worst of the worst
Watching shows like Criminal Minds
Forensic Files
Stuff that keeps me awake all night
Re-living the horror I felt while I was
Sitting in front of the TV
watching a murder or apocalypse
Too fearful to watch a scary movie, yet watching
Pompeii being covered by bus-loads of lava,
Screaming and dying,
Watching gladiators being torn apart by lions,
Sitting in utter horror, knowing I will be up and down all night
Too terrified to sleep more than two hours at a time,
Waiting for the knife to plunge and the
End to come
Fascinated at the idea of being
Buried alive,
Scared to my bone marrow
And for what reason?
No clear idea,
Certainly
No sense
In doing this to
Myself, and yet
Here I am,
Waiting in terror
For the
Unknown
Them
To
Come
And
End
Me

Heavenly Things

Heavenly Things

Eggs for breakfast and oatmeal with honey
Buffets with sushi and boyfriends with money
The tranquil room when my roommate's sleeping
These are a few of my favorite things

Criminal Minds and sermons of Joel Osteen
Girl with Down syndrome crowned Homecoming queen
Waking up to coffee in the morning
These are a few of my favorite things

Sparkling water and artificial sweetener
Playing Scrabble and California weather
A seat in the bus where no one's sitting
These are a few of my favorite things

When my brain rings
And the day stings
And the clouds are dark
I simply think of their silver linings
And I don't feel so stark

The time has come to say good night
It's nine seventeen pm
The last episode of NCIS
Was really kind of grim

I quickly flipped at nine pm
To a Blue Bloods episode
Danny had just emptied his Glock
And was ready to reload

Criminal Minds was gory
The plot was really gruesome
A psychopath in Houston
Had just dismembered a twosome

Even Matlock was boring tonight
But Dirty Harry 'made my day'
Sleep is more important now
So I'll just make my way

To the bathroom for my usual routine
Brush my teeth, take nighttime meds
Gargle with some Listerine
Turn the lights out and go to bed

Criminal Minds

Crippled by the gun
Reminders of life being done
In a team
Movement to the scream
Inferno of insanity
Never ending results of vanity
Aluminum scraps all of the scene
Lighting glows in a sheen

Mental breakdowns
Internal empty rounds clattering upon the floor
Napalm dressed corpes
Drowned bodies twisted and warps
Sovling crime is what me do.

Premium Member Crazy Love Under a Blue Moon

How is it possible, to be "awful" and "amazing" at the same time?
Please don't find me "annoying" as I ponder your "grim" and "gruesome".
There is something quite "delightful" about seeing you so "frightened"!
It is "fortunate" that we crossed paths, "finding" you is most certainly a sign.

For you I have erected a "monolith" here under the blue moon.
At its very centre I will look upon your pure white "oval" face.
I will know pleasure as I gaze into your stunning "opaque" eyes.
It is so very wonderful to see how you are "opening" up to me!

I will not "patronize" you for you will be the "pride" of my garden.
This is merely a simple "prelude" to our very precious time together.
I know removing your face will seem "vicious", but know l will be gentle.
If I'm kind you won't be "vindictive"! Instead you'll love me and I'll be "Victorious"!

For Shadow's "Make a Poem *2Contest."

I used quotes for the words because my iPad doesn't allow me to bold words on Poetry Soup.

I wrote this piece from a serial killers perspective, I guess I've watched to many episodes of "Criminal Minds".

October 28 Good News In History

OCTOBER 28 GOOD NEWS IN HISTORY!

I picked me a date.
I chose any date.
Reason is that any day is a good news day.
I created my timeline to illustrate.
I invested wisdom within the knowledge gave.
This should make someone smile and shout hoop hoop hooray.
Therefore, here’s some good news today.

A positive maximum is taken on October 28, 1962.
Cuban missile crisis ended through diplomatic pressure.
The President of the U.S.A., which was JFK, demanded dismantling of U.S.S.R nuclear weapons.

Looking further into the pass views a liberated stance.
On October 28, 1886, The Statue of Liberty was given to U.S.A. as a gift from France.

The Good News Papers have arrived.
We want to embrace positivity into our lives.
We tired of writing about criminal minds.
Therefore, we took a brief trip back in time.

Crimes In Mind

Ideas so many quibbled in my mind
I can't see what's the best, the better or I'm blind?
help me find the solution
my head aches for this question.

Crime novels I love to read
think the way criminal minds did.
Investigate like the CSI works, but
getting away with murder, what's that?

Burried alive under the moonlight
followed by gangster in the middle of the night.
Shouting, crying, panicking
how should I escape, I'm asking.

Hostage by kidnapper, well, if i'm rich
or being hold-up in the streets of witch
all of which could take place
you or I can be killed in such deadly grace.

I found in Kinsey Millhone's mystery
her style of defense in different scenery.
Bravery and courage I learned from Maggie
in the Moonlight Becomes You, she managed to be free.

Victims are many but criminals are out
evidences are weak, they're afraid to speak out.
How to get away from murder
is my question, give me an answer.

Getting away with murder
my concern is just an issue but further
problem may arise, if I die
you, them and many will cry.

Fall Out

wait...
these are the times
when the outside is lined with pseudo sarcastical rhymes
sending grinding vibes of binding crime into non criminal minds
with winding cliff sides with clean records that die
when men move forward they never ask why
slide up vertical and cross the horizontal divide
pride, these men will always hide...
with their scraped knees
they only march under sick trees,
slipping deeper through the ugly canopies
they leave their minds to wander
this the sum of their good deeds?

un-stitched seams open the mind to reality--
only two days can change a man's mentality
neutrality sets in and begins the stage of awkward gestures
pestering the thoughts and molesting all the guess work
God calls out!
“attention all petitions, lower your fists, and please unclench them
your time's not up and I will not forgo your pension”
man cries up toward the ceiling believing god and prays for healing
feeling so mundane when man's sanity pleas for strain
blame the man and make a mane of dirty hairs
send paradoxical signal flares
vacuum out all holy air time stops and now he's there
no..
fall out only hurts when man runs circles round dirty squares
