Life is convoluted
Coming across happiness and sorrow
Love and betrayal
Hunger and riches
Steering through the opposites
Consistency with the confrontations
Saps the solace
Tired and broken, no longer thoughtful
One counters the events
The wise ones see similarity in all
Allow the things to happen
Spontaneity breeds many paths
One continues to walk, brightness unfolds
Calm waters greet, spring returns
Past is past, oblivion overwhelms
Smiles, zest and thrill embrace
Bad is gone, good overtakes
Life is a game, reconciliation is the key

I fear for Nigeria my country
I fear for the giant of Africa
I fear for God’s Master piece
I fear for a country that is always
Trapped in the web of its convoluted misery
I fear for a country perpetually
Enmeshed in trial and error
Instead of pragmatic leadership selection
That would launch her into
The orbit of advanced Democracies
That providence has thrust upon her
The Nigerian masses have spoken
Loud and clear in their choice
But the forces of criminality
Which have held the country down perpetually
Have begun another macabre dance
To truncate the will of the people
God is a Nigerian and has set in motion
A divine rescue mission
Greater than the Red Sea experience!

My subjective has been documented
by my objective – sort of like, my
thoughts verify my brain, though
no one can see them. I guess, what
I'm trying to say is, Time exists
independent of watches and hourglasses,
I think...well, this is getting far more
convoluted than I had originally thought.
I'm getting nowhere. It would take a
God to explain this.

Eyes of mischief
Lips like sugar kisses
Folds of velvet
Peach sweeter than honey
Personification of sex
She is beautifully convoluted
Dirty mind full of sin
Soul of an angel
Drown me in your magical eyes
Worlds entwined till the end
Drive me crazy with your thoughts
She is beautifully convoluted
Naughty desires
Stir passionate fires
No one compares
Tastes of sweet nectar
Waiting to explore
She is beautifully convoluted
Wanton mind
Raunchy mouth
Soul of a minx
Nymphomaniac desires
Embarrassed by simplicity
She is beautifully convoluted

Looking mighty cute
Dressed in a suit
He was on route
To pick up a loot
Ever so resolute
Arrived at the institute
He thought he heard them call him a cloot
Or maybe it was a galoot
He really wasn’t absolute
These days his hearing is acute
They said he had to wait over by the chute
They had something to compute
Just a problem to troubleshoot
So they had themselves a moot
He thought they meant we don’t give a hoot
Meanwhile after adjusting his boot
He sat and ate both halves of a grapefruit
Then while waiting he played his flute
With his good eye watching things convolute
He too has his moments to be astute
They looked intensely involute
The teller in her jumpsuit was a beaut
The manager a snoot and a brute
He could tell by their salute
They were in cahoot’
Hold’it! Hit the pause or press the mute
His patience growing ever so minute
He could tell there’d been a fraudulent substitute
Persecute Prosecute There’s going to be a lawsuit
Someone’s been tempted by the forbidden fruit

Convoluted while being refuted,
And for no one was ever suited.
Will have to work on this one for
a while. How about you giving it
a try? Jim Horn

A CONVOLUTED PREMISE
Do what you can is what you can do
But some seek more it's all up to you
Then it might be said "well then, just do more"
Defining more brings you back to before as an encore
Because to do more you
have to know the before
Defining exactly how much you actually did
Allows possibly going forward beyond that grid
But it must be remembered brains are circumscribed by size
Which limits the acquisition of what you can know or surmise
So the barrier for doing more may have already been presented
And doing what you can cannot be augmented

absurdly convoluted
intricately motivated
twists and turns
combined to form
an emotional maze
in which the two
souls were trapped
within for years
till one day one of the
two souls found it's way out
leaving the other behind

Black of night
Light of day
I used to go
But now I stay
Summer heat
Winter cold
I once was young
But now am old.
Desert dry
Ocean wet
I used to freeze
But now I sweat.
Full glass
Empty cup
I once was down
But now am up.
Vinegar sour
Honey sweet
I once was strong
But now am weak.
Fancy hat
Ball cap
I once was lean
But now am fat.
Cool blue
Hot pink
I used to leap
But now I think.
String bikini
Formal gown
I used to smile
But now I frown.
In time
Out late
Time now to end
This foolish prate.

CONVOLUTED THINKING
it’s the holidays
when thoughts turn to those of food
not just any food
sweets are thrust from every side
candy fruit cake and apple pie
the list is endless
when I think how weak i am
it makes me shudder
doubtless i shall overeat
so i must set a limit
i hate my fat self
when I look in the mirror
40 pounds over
over what the weight chart says
high school weight days are over
what is sensible?
dare I make it 45
easy to lose 5
just think of the tasty fun
candy fruit cake and mince pie
egg nog rich stuffing
that thanksgiving table spread
how my mouth waters
LOOK! the lady on t.v.
took off 50 with jenny
my god! 50 pounds!
why! 5 pounds would be a snap!
and now I’m resolved
i will sign with jenny
right after the holidays

Here's a puzzle most obscure,
shrouded symbols are the lure,
like a mouse trapped in a maze,
twisted thoughts are met with praise.
Every line's a metaphor,
like the Raven's "nevermore,"
childhood's marbles, colored glass,
slipping through your weakened grasp.
As the bulbs break through the soil,
comprehension in turmoil,
let not the poet's phrase betray,
the convoluted word ballet.

Exodus in the dark: golden lioness stands
a tawny, brilliant edifice
She is Chernobyl raising the doves.
Stone kamikaze follow me: into the fire:
my war. Tariff on my mother
Cubicle squares another suicide.
Do what you must, but reality
A misunderstood turn of phrase;
The inferno within us all.
