Premium MemberValentine's Day Is Xmas For Lovers

We all know that Christmas is commercialized
It is about business, profits and making money
So is Valentine's Day right now. Love is for sale
Hearts are on sale. Love is indeed materialized
Greed is at its best. Some lovers are very pale
Many seniors are obviously sad. That's not funny
Because it hurts to see so many loners
Who are not happy. They are in pain
Nobody buys them: flowers or chocolate
Valentine's Day is no longer for lovers
Yet, it is a very special to go on a date
With friends and to dream of having fun
Things have changed and are no longer the same
This is the truth and that's a bloody shame
Still, I'm wishing you: Happy Valentines's Day
Be safe! Blow kisses and don't get carried away.

Premium MemberTreasure Hunting

In realms of cyberspace, I fly
searching out treasures in disguise
skirting advertised merchandise
the ordinary, the overemphasized
to anatomize the marginalized
values overlooked otherwise
on the dusty, neglected, virtual aisles
of small sites not over-commercialized
or google ranked and over-publicized
some unexpected payoffs materialize
glittering swag, patiences prize
“Oh, my God - Look!” I vocalize
My girlfriends can’t believe their eyes
“You can find anything,” they surmise.

Premium MemberNiagara Falls

It's been decades since visiting Niagara

It's only a hundred miles or so from where I live

Criminal not to have experienced this majesty

Of this world famous heritage site

Unfortunately it has been commercialized

Practically from the beginning

But that doesn't diminish the splendour

Of this majestic world famous attraction

Rotten Games and Gotten Strange

12/27/21

Did poorly or was doing just fine
The outcome was negative or had a plus sign
Always not just sometimes
Being one of a kind
Under the moonlight and sunshine
When it took a turn for the worse or was sublime

No longer getting brushed aside
Seeking what it is that I must find
On the frontlines

Can't force it
Or forfeit
Held true or was horse

Bought it or couldn't afford it
Crystal clear or distorted
Unavoidable or able to be thwarted

Saw it coming from the crows nest
Meanwhile, most think they know best
As they struggle to clean up their own mess
Very quick to protest
In their ways they are so set

For the greater good or due to greed it was commercialized
All of this, I could not internalize
Something still stirs inside
It's tragic that humans and animals got burned alive

Better be something you're sure about
Or it'll have an unsuccessful turnout
Close and far from any birdhouse

So many rotten games
It has gotten strange
All about the profit gains
Not any pocket change

Premium MemberThe Christmas Purpose

The Christmas Purpose
By: Miracle Man
December 6, 2021

For fear of offending another, and starting a fray,
many don’t say Merry Christmas, but Happy Holiday.

A commercialized holiday often void of Christ’s name,
Leaving Jesus out of Christmas is a foolhardy game.

Jesus came, was virgin birthed, in a far away stable,
accomplishing for mankind what no other was able.

His earthly life was culminated at a forlorn cross,
making man opportunity to expunge all his dross.

Christmas has become a giving and merriment season,
too many have forgotten that Jesus is the reason.

Christmas Memories

Those Christmases of Old
Were much better by Far
We never had much Money
But we always got By.

No expensive Gifts
Just little Things
A Christmas Stocking
A drum made of Tin.

A jig saw Puzzle
That my mum would Complete
A plastic Gun
Golden coins that were Sweets.

A few new Penny's
A colouring Book
That my Nan filled In
So I never got a Look.

Now sadly Today
The mystery has Gone
Christmas starts in August
And just goes on and On

Gone is the Magic
The expectation the Surprise
Christmas is big Business
It's become to Commercialized.

Harmonizing Birds

I wake up in the morning and
open the window to hear the
harmonizing birds singing to me,
an all-feathered chorus free of charge,
perched upon a stage of stately elm trees,
tweeting from the spreading of the limbs,
at first a faint sound and then another
until a refrain is heard throughout the yard,
I am pleased to hear their sound knowing
that life is more than a commercialized
environment in which there are gifts given
without conditions.

Looking Past The Clutter
Written: by Miracle Man

Each Holiday season many will go all out,
While rarely mentioning what Christmas is about.
When to celebrate Jesus should be more befitting,
The mood seems to be about giving and getting.

The birth of Jesus has become commercialized,
And by this trend we’ve become mesmerized.
Everything is geared to increase our buying,
Instead of Jesus’ birth which some are denying.

We’re encouraged to use the term, Happy Holidays,
Merry Christmas is offensive to those not liking this phrase.
But I, like many others, will continue having my say,
It’s remains Merry Christmas, and Jesus’ birthday.

Nobel Lionized Matriarchy

Freely forming metrical mainstays
poetic occasion to phrase
the fairer and gentler sex,
thus the following turns of phrase
to bestow acknowledgement

regarding wonderful wise ways
of collective she who assays
to create safe/secure home/ hearth
as bedrock and fount of ample
maternal duties tiredly sashays

with keeping house receiving praise
the second Sunday each May, her
tired body sprawled on chaise
lounge, perhaps basking in solar rays
communing with Gaia, who whiz
bruiting with sky goddess

defying forecasters prediction, no slate grays
pose dampening effect on huzzahs
regaling torchbearer diploid as amaze
zing newlife, where loving labor pays
more than fine spun gold cherishing
offspring in her nurturing ways.

Paean dutiful daily deference, I dole
ensconced with pineapple getup
surfing the cyber sea, this hyperbowl
lee, yet deserved dignity deifying dames,
who bear brunt whole
ding potent biological reproductive role

de facto duty honorably decreed
tribute paid despite commercialized
money making hyped up rigamarole,
nonetheless yours truly accentuates sole
sans, progenitor of human race
saddled with disproportionate/ unfair toll.

Premium MemberBeaches Littered By People

It was a delicate time
Different than back in the 60’s,
A curiously odd trip to a town I had
remembered as clean and happy
Ocean waves the same
Too commercialized now
Bar signs everywhere
Scantily clad women in our faces
A town promoting liquor and debauchery
Maybe I had not noticed before
Because I was a child
Beaches littered by people yelling loudly
Seemed quieter before
I did not remember so much meanness
or loud brags
People leaving their wrappers
Not looking as they left
Not seeming to care
Tin people on beaches

-a different beach now
littered up and commercial
sad feelings arise-

Premium MemberA Ubiquitous Word

Love is a ubiquitous word
that's lost its oomph along the way.
A colloquialism for like,
it has become a filler word.

On the Internet and FaceBook,
love is a ubiquitous word.
Any attached sentiment slips
into redundancy with use.

It is over-commercialized
unattached from reality.
Love is a ubiquitous word,
yet time has warped its true meaning.

I want to express my feelings
and tell you what is in my heart.
But how do I voice such thoughts when
love is a ubiquitous word?

Passion Eye

An Eye for Passion..
An Eye for Fusion..
Little ideas about life
the experiences as sharp as knife..
brought volumes to express
and I failed always to suppress..
were all not happy,
were all not disappointing
but the good ever faded sooner
and the bad ones never stayed harder.
to stay childlike,
without loosing innocence
the way we look at the world,
leaving troubled thoughts and confusing presence.
just to lighten up ,
beat away the commercialized concrete world.
This is to express the depth of reverence...
the deepest appreciation
I feel from the dew on the grass
to the seed in a fruit...
the chillness of water .
the coolness of moon..
the shadow of a tree ..
the nest of a birdie!
Everything is beautiful straight from nature!
purely unadulterated..
with a child like heart,
embracing the nature
experiencing the spiritual touch,
I get reminded
I am not just a human being...
I am a spiritual being...

Christmas

Christmas is a busy time,
Commercialized therefore I am skint,
Cant afford to feed myself,
So its soggy sandwiches and mints.

The big day is one week away,
Yet I seem not to be excited,
For I cant wait to see the back of this year,
New Years I'll be delighted.

So many great people have been lost,
So many great people have been found,
But the pain etched in my memories,
Are for the ones laid to rest in the ground.

So all alone I wait for Christmas,
No hat upon my head,
What cheer it is, spread through the year,
None for me, as my friends are all dead.

Uncharted Waters

as Colorado & Washington
have thrown the dice,
the first big step in the direction
of legalizing pot
has made people against the
measure begin to stir in their
ridiculously naïve funk,
whilst proponents who do not
live in either of the two states
are no doubt, discuss with their
significant others is
a lot of rain & a lot of
snow,
is worth the move.

while there is question as to whether
the feds will step in & crush the
measures, or how commercialized
the actions could become if they are
allowed to experiment in these
uncharted waters,
“domestically grown
marijuana is thought to be the second
most profitable cash crop in the United
States.”

whilst the dead horse does not have to
be beaten, that is,
we do not need to go back in time &
look at how economically
successful Prohibition was
in comparison to the wealth of profit &
jobs which the industry has continued to
pump into our economy since its
repeal.

idiots (growing closer to death now) will stand
up & yell
“it’s a gateway drug,” as if everyone who smokes a
joint follows by tying off,
but the ways in which legalization
could help the economy of this country is
undeniable.

An Orange-Juiced Christmas

congregate and anticipate please,
eliminate traces of old dirty fleas.
please don't confuse any old thoughts with these.
christmas trees smell better without presents.

pungent, pulpy stenches float up my nose,
duct-taped paper-clips make a nice rose,
miniature villages, cotton-ball snows,
oranges and pine needles smell good.

recycle orange peels which first were caressed,
while cookie crumbs gather underneath an armrest.
the winter holidays detest:
over-commercialized representations of Santa sporting Old Navy vests.
