Beaches Littered By People

It was a delicate time Different than back in the 60’s, A curiously odd trip to a town I had remembered as clean and happy Ocean waves the same Too commercialized now Bar signs everywhere Scantily clad women in our faces A town promoting liquor and debauchery Maybe I had not noticed before Because I was a child Beaches littered by people yelling loudly Seemed quieter before I did not remember so much meanness or loud brags People leaving their wrappers Not looking as they left Not seeming to care Tin people on beaches -a different beach now littered up and commercial sad feelings arise-

Good imagery. When I was a child we lived not far from the ocean. It was clean and a serene place to get in touch with nature. When I went back. It wasn't the same with the new liquor places lining the beach and the motels.

It is so sad, Bette, so very sad.

Some of my best childhood memories were at the beach; they aren't quite the samenow, sad.

It is rather awful.

No, no, you're right. Beaches weren't like this in the late 50's and early 60's. At least in the Midwest they weren't. There were quiet, relaxing places, punctuated by the laughter of children... A pleasant memory you've summoned up! ~ gw

I loved it back then, now, not so much.

I'm not a great lover of crowds', give me a deserted beach anytime. Tom

I was shocked to find one of my favorite quiet beaches overrun with people after a few short decades, Tom.
