Would you marry me if you could
Should the stars align?
I'd take your hand if you said yes
And keep it safe in mine
We'd work as one in all we did
My love for you would shine
And as the days turned into years
I'll still be on cloud nine
As I stood there looking to the sky,
I felt so small, the stars seemed bigger than I.
The expanse of darkness hiding the moon,
Clouds were sleeping as the darkness loomed.
I stood there and prayed to the Lord,
God please fix our broken world.
A tear rolled down and brushed my face,
It cried with me and then fell with grace.
I stumbled as I lost my words,
A bright star then shined on our world.
I smiled and felt much bigger,
God had something to do with that,
It's what I had figured.
Never again will my star dim from within,
I'll stay on the path, and walk with him.
In sunless dark dusk
winter blizzard blows across
the road I walk chilled back home.
Cupful hot coffee
my wife gives me at fireplace,
we’re on cloud nine together.

She is on cloud nine, all is great, and fine.
She is on cloud ten, doing it again.
She is on cloud eleven, heading toward earth heaven.
She fell back to eight, but life is still rather great.
Our love began as a small little seed
Now it is in full bloom today, my love
I am on cloud nine, the stars did align
My darling man, you are such a rare breed
Your steadfast love melted my icy heart
You fulfilled a deep longing and pure need
Basking in your sweet nectar is pure bliss
Sweetheart I tend follow, you are the lead
You are a precious gift from up above
The stars did align, I am on cloud nine
I am so happy cause’ I embraced love’s creed

My darling spot is a grassy hill,
Where I go to hear the bluebirds thrill,
Sometimes in mauve marigold dawn morn,
As waking dreams are in stillness born!
Other times to taste hot noonday bliss,
Sweeping me off to the clouds' abyss,
Of red sunsets, or nights after nine.
That time's my accomplice, is just fine-
With nature dancing its borderlines!

The spent sun sets, takes away my day
I paint new sun on canvas within
The silver moon in satin night sky
Reflects in inner mirror my dreams
Configured in essence euphoric
For your charming closeness completes me.
I walk the penultimate ninth mile
My soul spreads wings for the final flight
Soars to eternal bliss on cloud nine.

My good poet friends are pals of mine
A day without them is a day without sunshine
May be overstating it a bit
But our friendship won't quit
Until forever our hearts are entwined
The earth is sleeping under the blanket of fog,
daylight gently awakens her from her stupor,
misty mountains melt in the magical morning,
as each step surprises us to what lays ahead,
The clouds float by, spreading their chillness in the air,
wispy breeze blows past sprinkling wintry cheer around,
atmospheric brume brushes away all boredom,
hovering haze heightens our heady adventure,
The climb uphill is as fuzzy as it can be,
vapours blur our vision and view of the valley,
beauty of the place is hid behind cloud curtains
with the biting weather assaulting our senses,
Walking through the clouds in an ethereal feel,
the presence of God is tangible than ever,
words cannot describe the artistry of that place,
some things must be experienced to be fathomed.

Cloud Nine
It's Been Nine years,
They seem Short and Sweet,
Eyes Full of Joy Tears,
Shoes Full of Feet.
It's Been Nine Annuals,
Of Blues & Green Blossoms of Smiles,
Sans GPS or Shalom Manuals,
Our Careening Inner-Outer Space Miles.
It's Been a Team of Nine,
But Rookie Roster of Two,
On Purim, Said the Rebbetzin,
"A Remarkable Pair are You".
It's Been Nine Annums,
Date Starting Over Starbuck's Coffee,
Then Favorite Englander Kitchen Table Crumbs,
Soared Us High, to Orbits Lofty.
It's Been Nine Degrees,
Of Seeing the Plus & Flaw Blindness,
Each Listing Spouse Pedigrees,
Beginning & Ending With Kindness.
It's Been Nine Lives,
To Borrow from the Cat World,
You Inched Bravely to the High Dive,
Breathed Deep, Dove & Deserve to be Pearled.

Red wines I drink make my cold blood hot red
Flames flow turning neurons wild in my head
Tongue slithers to utter a word
Legs morph into wings of blind bird
Hazy garden path on cloud nine I tread.

Here, to my right on cloud nine,
sits God, finding my match.
He's back down on two.
I take the stairs, the elevator's full.
Back on two, we reconcile,
thinking back to long conversations
of us, and you, and our future as one.
I had so much love to give,
but it seems I never had enough.
I'd tell you how much I love you,
but I can only write it.
So I'll put you next to God,
on cloud nine.
I'll take my place, besides you,
and inhale your scent.
Back on cloud nine,
I am free again.
CRUISING ON CLOUD NINE
hills like green seas
skies lower clouds
like living rooms
furniture crowds
suffocating
simplicity
rooms accessories
with lifelike décor
pitiful candles
flying into nothing
small flames of delight
stay bright then flitter
dimmer into darkened
stop places of dread
no dreams…
is my life intriguing
perhaps appeasing
to your worsened
state of being
well…
I am on cloud 9
cruising…..
not caring
or
amusing
I hook myself
to only me
sticky candy
and
full treats
