Angels of grace

Weak I became
Wrapped in a heavy cloak of guilt and shame
Lost and unable to reclaim
My feet were once firm
now trembled with fear
Afraid to stand before the Lord, my heart unclear

But God, in his mercy, sent me angels of grace
Who listened to my story and showed a gentle face
They helped me rise reminding me of God's love
And whispering to me, "You are not alone, God loves you, and he'll receive you with open arms."

He will embrace you and dress you in nice clothes
Like the father did for the prodigal son
"Welcome, welcome, welcome home" " he'll say to you

With no judgment, no condemnation, just pure love
I was blessed with words of affirmation and encouragement,
With their tender love and support,
I felt peace, and my heart renewed.

These are the people we all need
A blessing to the soul
A reminder we're not alone, making us whole

Let's help people with ears that hear and words that heal
And pray for one another, that love and hope may appear

An intellectual dresses a simple idea in the cloak of heavy and elaborate words,
Building castles from long, intricate sentences that rise toward the sky,
While the poet, with eyes deepened in the mystery of the world, opens doors to truth,
He takes the complexity of life and transforms it into a song of wind and light,
Love becomes the flight of a butterfly, and pain a late autumn rain,
In an uninterrupted flow of thoughts, where words dance freely,
Poetry does not fear simplicity, for within it lies the depth of the world,
Touching hearts through a metaphor that shines brighter than a speech.
In the silence of the night, the verses find their echo in the souls of those who listen,
The poet embraces mystery, turning it into a palpable truth,
While the intellectual sometimes gets lost in the maze of complicated reasoning,
Yet in both flows the same desire to understand the universe around,
To find hidden beauty in details, meaning in every flicker of time.
Words, be they heavy or light, always seek their place in open hearts,
Where truth can be whispered or shouted in mountain echoes,
And thus, in the simplicity of verse, we find ourselves, without limits.

But what lies beneath the shadow of the night you wear like a heavy cloak?
What do you see in the mirror when all the masks fall off and fade into nothingness?
Pure white, cold light that bathes the wound, is all that remains beneath the layers of silence.
Your scars, what do they truly hide, and what do your sharp thorns protect?
A blinding white, a radiance that penetrates deep into the hidden darkness,
who are you when you don't make a bed out of pain, when the agony duvet slips away at dawn?
Fade slowly, burn quietly, for soon all will be just silence, and...
Truly, you are a stranger, aren't you, even to yourself,
an enigma that reveals and hides under the veil of every breath.
And yet, who are you when the light of day caresses your skin,
when the shadows retreat and you are just you, without the burden of shadows?
A soul seeking itself in the heartbeats, in the whispers of the wind,
a traveler through your own labyrinth, searching to rediscover your true light.

Premium MemberThe night has spread its cloak of cold stars over the entire earth

The night has spread its cloak of cold stars over the entire earth,
I, a lost soul, call to merge with you into eternity,
In winter sheets, like two flames dancing their shadows,
Weaving our dreams into a secret ritual under the moonlight.
You, my distant light, are the beacon at the horizon of my heart,
The distance between us stretches like an ocean of endless silence,
My thoughts sink, transforming into waves of longing,
Shaking my tranquility, while desires remain unfulfilled in the abyss.
My lonely bed becomes a vast and deep universe of dreaming,
Embraced by the hope of your coming, like a dream of silk and light,
My soul waits for you to hold it in your warm and gentle arms,
To melt away the silence in your embrace and create eternal love.
Love my broken heart with the tenderness of a spring breeze,
Whisper sweet words to me and weave them into a fabric of peace,
Let me float on the wings of pure fantasy, escaping routine,
We travel through the symphony of the night, lost in timelessness.
We are twin rhythms of the same heart, beating in unison,
In the endless symphony of the night, where time loses its form.

Premium MemberOak Soak Coke Folk Cloak Smoke Broke Bloke

A wizened boy who lived at seventy-two Oak
Relaxed in his tub with a lemon salt soak
Ate a curly pretzel, downed a harsh throat coke
An honest child who sprang from truthful folk

Dressed himself in a red and yellow super hero cloak
Flew around New York City watching for dangerous smoke
News of his heroism quickly readily broke
Giving some fame to this truthful do-gooder bloke

He saved a young girl who was having a choke
Convinced a teenager to give up a maryjane smoke
Chanted a spell pretty difficult to invoke
Created a talking frog who never could croak

If you meet this wizened boy at seventy-two Oak
Tell him his cousin Moke wants to give him a poke
This is a true story, in absolutely no way a joke
Now that I have shared it, I will go have a soak.

Premium MemberThe Cloak Of Night

The cloak of Night suppresses sounds;
all, but the faint beat of my heart.
Zoning out of reality,
I shelter in Night's quietude.

Muting the Day's cacophony,
the cloak of Night suppresses sounds.
And allows me to sort my thoughts,
without the annoyance of noise.

When Chaos rings inside my head:
distractions echo through my mind.
The cloak of Night suppresses sounds,
city life, tethered to the day.

Stepping outside of the moment,
my mind disengages with time.
For at the fringes of quiet,
the cloak of Night suppresses sounds.

The Dagger's Cloak

Secrets ...
 callous on your heart
 stone around your neck
cellar of respite
 weight upon your soul

Deception ...
 bane upon your conscience
affront to voices hiding
sire of excuses
— truth behind the mask

Out of the Night's Cloak

“The mind trestles the bridge to redemption.”
               – Thompson Emate

When night falls,
Sounds come from stalls
piercing through the tranquil night,
We seek for light.

The night awakens the eerie,
The ambience is dark and dreary,
We hear footsteps and see shadows,
The uncanny lurks outside our windows.

A bridge needs crossing when redemption sits on the other side,
From the sinister night, we cannot hide,
We prop feeble hope,
Even as the night takes us down a slope.

The night opens its door,
Strangers come out of the store,
We’re not cowed,
Our fears have been floored.

Premium MemberWhispers of The Night

In moonlit dreams, the stars align,
Their shimmering dance, a cosmic sign.
Silent whispers weave through the air,
Echoes of wishes, secrets to share.

The night unfolds its velvet cloak,
As constellations softly invoke.
Stories of love, loss, and grace,
Painted across the vast celestial space.

So, close your eyes, my dear friend,
Let Stardust guide you, without end.
For in the quiet hours, magic takes flight,
And dreams come alive in whispers of the night.

Under the tattered cloak of the past night,
I awoke as a traveler in the shadow of a compassless vessel,
Navigating the black river of an unknown destiny.
And behold, I suddenly got lost
In a chorus of voiceless echoes,
Whose devastating chords
Became the canvas on which the mourning of immeasurable loss is woven,
Where I learned to weave endless tears and carve traces of pain into my soul,
Aware that this symphony of sorrow will always weigh unsaid.
It will perish with me, an echo in the bowels of oblivion,
Passing through my heart like sparks of vibrant glass,
Leaving scars of memories that will never heal.
The path does not turn back, the gates of the past do not reopen,
Only that perpetual yearning,
A lake of solitude where no star reflects,
Where the lonely ones drink only the shattering of dreams.

And yet...
We watch them fall, soft leaves in the wind of silence,
We weep for them like companions sinking into the abyss,
And we reach out our hands to catch their final breaths,
Illusions that seem to fade like stars at dawn.

Cloak of stars I am that I am

Cloak of stars
(I am that I am)
By Michelle Morris
18/11/2023

I walk through the Universe
Wearing my cloak of stars
For I am that I am
I am everything you are

You cannot see me
You cannot touch my face
I am invisible, yet everywhere
Around the Universe's landscape

My strides can appear immense
To those who do not comprehend
But I am merely eternal
And to nothing I will bend

Seek first your own understanding
Know your soul and your path
And one day when we meet again
You may remember me at last

Solomon's Cloak

Truth is not an absolute
but an attitude of commitment
Throwing its blanket decidedly
over questioning and doubt
Paying deference to the moment
while blessing its intention
Choices made and choices bade
