Premium MemberAmy Cat Passed

Amy cat passed
     six days ago today…
   FATE took her away
after eleven purrfect years
We offer this tribute with gratitude
for the gray tabby ninja with cattitude —
   finis vitae sed non amoris

Premium MemberMY FROG FRIEND

Love me because I am all green. Love me because I am slimy. Love me because I love water. Are you answering with a yes? You must be a boy loving frogs. Are you saying no frogs for me? You must be a girl with a cat. Frogs are boys fun friends to play with.

Premium MemberBlack Cat Moan

Broken heart like broken bones
Life is hard from a broken home
Amplify my feelings I cry alone
Cat in me reeling black cat moan
Kicking my habits except guitar

Cat has to have it near not far
A rock song stronger than my heart
Tell me you’re over the hard part

Maybe I’ll see you again someday
Only crazy men can understand my ways
An electric guitar screams heart ache
Neon charge and scars why I play

Premium MemberThe Black Cat

The black cat pounces~
claws eviscerate! –
victim cries out as its specie
tongue torn-out. Surely
God could not have intended
this! The black cat,
licks, nurses, cleans its young.
Would die for their protection.
Purrs in the old woman’s lap,
otherwise alone, needing a cat’s
warmth of affection – surely God
intended it this way. Surely
God has a
              convoluted
                             reflection --

Premium MemberOde To My Cat Tom

As a young child my mind goes back to Tom, a pure dark gray old tom cat. We went visiting in the town next door, when Tom took up with me. The neighbors said, they had never seen him before. We took him home, giving him a bath then food and milk. I dressed him up in my doll clothes, then gave him a baby bottle of cold milk. Tom was my real baby doll disguised as a cat, and he loved it. We both had many wonderful hours of fun, as Tom got extra rubs with cold milk.

Premium Member- My Cat A Skein With Love -

The joys you brought into the home
A little silver-gray skein - soft and warm
Raspberry tongue and jade green eyes
I believe that you are exceptional -
nothing more, nothing less
You are a door opener, to inner feelings

There will always be hands to pat you
feed you and nurse your wounds
In the reflection room, threads are woven
of future dreams
A long earthly journey of discovery
with life-giving energies

Premium MemberOde to Diamond and Pearl

Diamond you were shy and wary,
Peeking from behind a crate,
Your gaze portrayed that we were scary,
So still, you sat, resigned to wait.

Pearl, in your white and silver coat so bright,
You moved with grace and eager trust,
You circled near with pure delight,
As though you were waiting for us just.

Indoors in gentle state you reign,
Soft sovereigns our control insures,
Your rule is complete in this domain,
You have taken this place and made it yours.

By day you claim the chairs as we leave,
By night, our bed is half your own,
No protest do you ever receive,
Your royal rights are well known.

This could have been such a cold place,
With all our children leaving us alone,
For love has filled each quiet space,
Pearl and Diamond you have claimed your throne.

Premium MemberThe Huntress

On my back in bed
with a book to read
while being gently mauled -
she digs into my breast.

The delicate skin breaks
under her needle pricks
red stains suffuse nightdress
while she purrs and kneads.

Expressing her content
to have me trapped at last
not moving round the house
ignoring her embrace.

Premium MemberA Kitten Steals Your Heart

               A kitten steals your heart
                    its ballet sublime

               Her delicate motions
                    swipe precious minutes of time

               Then just when you say
                    to yourself, “Alright, that’s enough”

               It curls into your lap
                    ~ meows gently ‘midst fluff

Premium Memberlet him keep her

What cat? I do not see one, lied the dog.
He had grandma mail his favorite friend, Bog.
Bog was a cat, and they had a love for each other.
“It’s Christmas, let him keep her,” said the grandmother.

Premium MemberDomestic Bliss

Dandelion dreams drip from ebony eyes
Onyx screams of love birds in blue sky
Morning smells of maple syrup so sweet
Eager to rise from the deep denim sleep
Sacred psalms of a dream catcher’s art
Turquoise stone shining like hope in heart
Indigo images shadow dance in sunlight
Cat fat and black racing squirrel outside

Blue moods like jazz play with my mind
Like the clock tic tick teal in perfect time
I people watch as wild animals watch me
Strolling barefoot enjoying life’s silver scene
Starry night melts into cloudy day dream

Premium MemberOde to Leo

(Leo - our cat's name)

Dear Leo, this verse is about you!
It's being shared not out of the blue
He is the morning person of all
But he doesn't require a rooster's call

He likes going for a morning walk
Of course; only up to kitchen block
He gets delighted to stirring sound
And responds if he's in and around

He takes a stance by arching its back
And displays his prudence to attack
Wise enough to show his intention
Follows on to catch our attention

He does give no scope to any mess
He never takes food less or excess
Our casual talks filled with his bites
We feel proud to share all those highlights

Decodes signs like a flawless scanner
Wins hearts with an elegant manner
He always appears to be composed
With great love, the best of him disclosed

Premium MemberOde to Bella

There was a time when my heart was weeping
God had taken my pet cat back
it was so quiet
my home was like a tomb
then, I was given a funny creature
a cat with a flat face
she was soft as velvet
and had huge round golden eyes
I fell in love with her right away- but she ran away

Under my bed she stayed
coming out to check things out
then, running back to the safety of the bed
but, one day she decided I was okay
I named her Isabella ... Bella for short
lots of purring and meowing was my gift from Bella
my gift were toys, balls, catnip mice, and dangling things
she loves to play for hours and hours
Bella really likes my feet
and at night we cuddle together until first light
in the morn' I take her to the garden to lay among flowers

Premium Member- Ode To Lucas My Cat -

A cat is a cat, you might say.
But my orange cat Lucas, is undoubtedly unique.
  His fur has black stripes,
he looks as a little tiger.

  A lively and curious cat
  with a special personality.
Homemade sushi, is his favorite meal.
Lucas, enjoys life and expresses a lot of joy.
Stretches and rolls around on my lap
  ... I scratch his belly,
  it's clear that he's pleased.

Lucas rightly bears his name, "bringer of light".

Premium MemberMay is for Moon

"May is green and pink and red.” — Richard L. Ratliff

When green buds of May are half awake,
my cat's sleepy eyes in them I see ~
And when they bloom in dappled sunlight,
her pink nose in petals I recall;
Red roses waltz gracefully at noon,
but the garden is always empty
without my dearly beloved Moon.
