Found one
shiny, gold, beautiful
picked it up
held closely
Twas going to contain it
in a jar
Knowing that button would go far
dropped it, sad to say
it stood up on its wheel side
there it rolls, miles away
A lovely button pops out in the summer sun
pick her up and she will bring you luck
Walks along the beach, a seashell spun
by the silk of the ocean, a little red truck
Coconut sensation a radio pinned upon the ear
the sky is blue, the sea is foaming
Snapshot memories, eating lobster on the peer
bathing suit strap lowered, barefoot roaming
The day after, seagull dreams ocean connections
I stitch her to my heart and she feels just right
Clothed in her light she is a special recollection
of me finding a shiny button, ... at the beach.
Scattered buttons on the floor
A cat named Buttons dying at my door
I think of what a button can do
Oh, Buttons the Cat, how I loved you
A button gone, my shirt askew
My life depends on buttons new
There come those moments when men cease to be men
And turn into dogs.
Dogs that bite and dogs that whine;
Dogs that lay
Panting
On top of you
And infect you with their spilling saliva
Dulled eyes full of starving thoughts of violence.
They’re all so charming until you see the rabies in their mouths
And their lips,
Docked by their hunger
Grinning like you can’t see the intentions in their bared gums
Or the savagery in their rolling tongue.
“You know what they say about dogs,” your mother’s voice echoes
“They’ll tell you that they love you,
But they’ll eat you when you’re dead.”
Phone screen starts to glow,
"Reply All" sends out the gaffe,
Now, career is done.

Belly Button
All In is
the place my belly button was
born. He just won a
trip to
Exhausted Land.
All costs are paid for.
Two blue eyes and a button nose
Features so striking all with the right pose
Wrapped in a frame so petite and slim
Looks so gorgeous, proper and prim
With a voice so melodious and smile so sweet
She is the one for whom my heart would skip a beat
Remember popping pop corns with Mary Poppins?
And with Sound of Music a treat so therapeutic
Julie Andrews with whom I cruised
Two blue eyes and a button nose
Gave my childhood a big happy dose
pause button
look around, do you see me near,
just two lovers in a world unclear.
take a break from the hustle and bustle of nine to five—be my guest,
with a caress that makes the moment feel blessed.
leave all the worries behind,
as this love will not be defined.
hold me in your arms, let everything be still,
capture the longing in my lips, let it thrill.
press the pause button, gently, with care,
the world is behind us, as if it’s no longer there.
with every heartbeat, the outside world fades,
in this stillness of love, our worries evade.
no need for goodbye, no future or past,
just you and me—igniting a flame meant to last.
in this moment of love, let all troubles cease,
together we find our sweet, perfect peace.
we’re incomplete
cravings bleating
depleting joy
bless the soul calm blue
neat so pretty cornflowers
bachelor's button
frothy fluffy frazzled fluff
lives in my bellybutton said agent ****
Frenzied frogs do not have a clue
Having no bellybutton as they grew.
My bellybutton is an instant reminder to me.
Placenta which provided nourishment to thee.
Myself and placenta attached by a fleshy cord.
Severed in delivery room by a young doctor’s sword.
Grandma’s button box and first aid kit were both mainstays in the kitchen.
We knew she had everything to help us if we were hurting or itch'n.
If we tore up our pants, got poison ivy or ripped a button off our coat,
She could have us fixed up in seconds, and then milk a cow or a goat.
A button a magnet
Oh how connected i am to you
Like a down of a thistle
A button, maybe two.
A world full of wonderful things to do,
I found one like you.
A button a magnet
A few night to spare
Seeing you makes me flar
A world full of funny things in the air
A button a magnet
I just happen to love you.
Whiten the gods above,
Holds all my love.
A button a magnet
It's guaranteed to happen.
The pattern along the way.
A button, maybe three!
Sitting in a tree,
Seeing you so happy.
A button, a magnet.
Oh how Its a bad habit,
But for how I love you.
I'm so attracted.
A button a magnet
Within this plant
It's just for granted.
A world full of wonderful things to do that will happen.
A button a magnet
Oh how connected i am to you
All the things, just about you.
Oh a button, a magnet
Oh, a button , a magnet.
Oh how much I am in love with you.
Much like the “cracker jack prize”
At the bottom of the box
As candy lore goes.
That unique badge of honor
For those who would dive deep
To grasp the brass button.
Beware this lure full of
Deceit.
Along the way you may yourself
Delete.
I look for you in the stars,
and in the streets,
and all the people I greet.
I look for you in books of poetry.
Such a place to find,
yet unaware that I'm
lost, like a button.
Arrive home from work to flip through pages
of a book I knew as a child, yet still
not remember the reason, so special
then.
It was though, so special..
Watched 'To kill a Mockingbird',
recalled fond memories of Scout and Jem.
A proud Atticus Finch..,
and Tom Robinson.
But today's me isn't the same,
as the me I remember.
More akin to a cartoon, a paper cut out,
a meme.,
compared to the wide eyed child of then.
