The Duck That Lost His Quack
A Duck woke up late one day last week,
And all he could do was to squeak.
He looked everywhere and listened to different things,
Even heard sounds all around, from pings to zings.
For example, he tried many gates, stairs, and barn doors,
Then went and stepped on cracks in nearby creaky floors.
He visited several witches, doctors and some were both,
They prescribed everything from lemons to ginger troth.
In his travels, he came across a quaint woodshop,
Being so tired, he sat down with a solid plop.
A carpenter saw that the Duck was so very sad,
From behind the counter, he came to help the lad.
After hearing of the tale of a missing sound,
The carpenter leapt up with a double bound.
He said, “From within is where it comes,
Not outside, as most would sum.”
“I have made many instruments for music,
And what you need is something acoustic.”
He brought out a short board with a nail,
Then attached several metal strings to a pail.
The carpenter said, “Play away and listen to the sounds in your head.”
The Duck strummed everything from Enya to the Grateful Dead.
After a fashion, the Duck was soon lost in the tunes,
And started to dance and sing like a midnight Lune.
Who knew that this Duck had a knack,
And in the middle of it all started to quack.
So you see, it’s not external to what you seek,
In many cases, its internal and who you meet.

This, after listening to Bubbles the Mouse speak,
And hearing a long story composed of squeaks.

Dating my first love, hearing Elvis sing
"It's now or never come hold me tight"
A handsome young Kennedy on TV springs
The youngest president with views left wing
Destined to die too young, a young bride's fright
Dating my first love, hearing Elvis sing
Married to my first love, a baby rings
There is a murder in our young sight
A handsome young Kennedy on TV springs
A young bride crawling away as if she has wings
A baby boy kicks with all his strong might
Dating my first love, hearing Elvis sing
In the sixties young love into marriage zings
Hope for a different future takes flight
A handsome young Kennedy on TV springs
Sudden end to hopes and dreams death did bring
Deep down in the spirit a seed planted alright
Dating my first love, hearing Elvis sing
A handsome young Kennedy on TV springs

To me my meeting my future husband and my marriage then children was
an important part of the sixties but of course only to us did it really matter.
Leftwing defined: members of a liberal or radical political party, or those
favoring extensive political reform..
Leftwing origin in the political sense in the first half of the 1800s where
in European legislatures the seating practice to seat those holding liberal
views were assigned the left side of the house..It also had use in military..

ABC Animal Twist
Adored and diverse, life thrives on earth; each day nature sees new births.
Big and small, abundantly in seas and trees; great beauty breathes.
Chameleons, cats, corn snakes, and coots, survive great threats in life's pursuit.
Delightful dragonflies from dart frogs duck; drake-crakes scoot upon lakes.
Eagles and egrets soar blue skies; an elephant endangered cries.
Fabulous fauna: fairy flies, and deer upon flora feed needs.
Graceful purple gallinules, young goats, and giraffes bring joyful laughs.
Hag-fish, halibut and hammerhead birds…birds? Yes! Nature preserves.
Insects and ibis work their charm; crusty isopods cause alarm.
Jaguars enjoy tasty meals; leftovers are the jackals' appeal.
Kiwi that fruits, kiwi that flies both species in New Zealand resides.
Living world the Creator made; since the beginning, wisdom stayed.
Matchless miracles, wonders, and births together blessed on our earth.
Never alone, no matter where, life exists here, there, everywhere.
Oh how beautiful, artfully wonderful, God-primed blissful place.
Planet earth and outer space together share a glorious race.
Question not; God loves this world. See creations glide, slide, swim, and swirl.
Reverence life; it was made with love; He still watches from up above.
Still breezes and sunshine please; sturgeon, shrimp, salmon, and sardines feed;
Termites, thrashers, terriers and teal find niches that have appeal.
Under God's skies, the umbrella birds fly. Man ponders; God replies.
Venomous snakes make rodents quake; Vultures clean up for good health's sake.
Weeping willows watch wolves whelp; chirping yellow warblers sing to elves.
X-Ray fish known since early days leave modern man looking amazed.
Yosemite toads, yetis, and yaks live on the lands without lack.

Ever gone to throw an axe?
You’ll love it if you try.
Grip the handle and relax,
Standing firm into your tracks,
Release and let it fly.
Over end, the axe will spin,
And through the air will whisk.
To the target, caged within,
Close to center, you will win,
Like darts with more the risk.
In the target, there are rings,
That circle round the eye.
Each a different point it brings,
When towards the board the axe it zings,
And wedges in the ply.
In the corner, there’s a spot,
Which comes with much acclaim.
Blue, the color of the dot.
If you have a killer shot,
Can help you clinch the game.
When you come, make sure to pack,
No shoes your feet expose.
If the board, it gives a smack,
And the axe comes bouncing back,
Will help to save your toes.
Grab a beer, this social game,
Is just as good as any.
It may even help your aim,
But too much is sure to maim,
So please don’t have too many.

She rails at unseen whisperers,
un-wrappers of gooey carmels.
Her hat is high and so am I,
drunk on her liederkranz chanel.
I imagine a well-placed apple
replacing her feathered chapeau.
An unpracticed William Tell zings
her headless with his bow.
Clever subtitles explain the plot.
The score sets an ominous tone.
Things are fine till next to me sits
a girl wearing limburger cologne.

Smell Clean!
Sometimes
no rhymes
do we
all see.
Blogs read
instead
can be
ugly.
Some peeps
are creeps.
So sly -
they spy
like moles
in holes.
Yes, sirs,
those curs
bait lambs
and ma’mes.
Some joke
with folk
or tease
blog-ees
Don’t mind
those kind!
But they
can say
mean things
with zings
to poke
at folk;
start fight -
they bite!
As hogs
at blogs
they squeal
to feel
like Kings
of things.
Beware
them there.
Shy guys,
be wise.
Just stay
away.
Trolls might
one night
just roam
your poem;
slam it;
say sh#@.
I think
they stink
with words
like turds.
Advice:
Be nice.
Smell clean,
not mean!

Inspiration
A fly which past fast zings
Like a bird on beating wings
A leaf that in wind flickers
Like a curvy girl on knickers
Or a Wretch who bemoans
As a weight lifter that groans;
Flying quite ethereal across
Clouds that gather no moss;
Like a mugger in the street
Fleeing with his hungry feet;
A happy lover who guffaws
Elusive to possessive in-laws
A Man of masculine feat
Sartorially elegant and neat,
Or a child who, like loud bells,
Is given to sobs and to yells
And a conversely patient mum
Composed and keeping mum,
Starving fellow; old and wan
Visage bruised with sun tan
With keen eye trailed above
In supplication for His love
The rain, wind and all that stirs
Voice, sound and all that burs-
I watch Nature with adulation
It gives my pen an inspiration.

Onset rumor today
Brave caped clown Gizmo
Dumps awful patron
After prank ended wonky
Never short fused
Clown Gizmo flips
Zooms while zings
Crowd cheer bravo
Later Gizmo calls bloke named Ralph
Guest plays fancy prize banjo
Until roars upset crowd
Sadly trash hefty jazzy amigo
Yikes! Vexed Gizmo jumps about
While oozes funky fresh skunk spray smell!
Whack!… Shout quick rapid magic
Throw given Hocus Pocus spell
Twirl aloud again Gimme Gimme
Sweet happy jolly smile Dozen jokes aside
Gizmo winks neath flurry haste
Saves promo story gusto style

Starlet had to purchase those keen fun, artistic boots
They remind her of so many great things
The times she and grandma were in cahoots
Dancing and jiving with zippy zips and zings
Her grandma’s estate settled in the middle of last week.
She left Starlet five thousand dollars and some lemon tea.
She said don’t spend this on anything boring, common or bleak.
Purchase something jazzy that will remind you of me.
She bought a ’74 Gremlin and painted it with daisies in color.
Rebuking requests from her sister, mother, daddy and brother.
These boots reminded her of grandma and made her laugh.
She also adopted from the zoo a koala and sweet-tempered giraffe.
