On My Mother Passing

ON MY MOTHER’S PASSING i wanted to keep my mother physically with me but it would be like trying to hold the sun like in life she still shines brighter than any star is as gentle as the finest breeze she isn't gone my mother is infinite hers was a metamorphosis like the butterfly represents eternal beauty flies to heights unimaginable to the human mind butterflies are free and so is she she was a wife a mother a sister a friend she was the best of all those roles she was because she chose to be but she was then she is now she will always be free such was her nature we all knew her as that special person could embrace your heart we also knew she was all but she was one you can't own that kind of beauty and her shine filled you with a euphoric joy she was she is like the moon the one belongs to children belongs to love at its very core love she spreads across the universe my mother was is will always be as large as unconditional love i share this story with you in order to comfort you her influence is immense she is now looking after us all be happy, be confident be at peace my mother is with us all and my mother is love armand

Lifes Simplicity Maintained

You were born in a specialist clinic I was born at the front door of my house we both came into this world and survived. You’ve been eating foreign cuisines and expensive delicacies I’ve been taking porridge and traditional soups we both have grown and are a significant part of the society. You go to school in Jeeps and exotic vehicles I use public transport and finish it up with a walk we both went to learning institutions and acquired knowledge. You roll with the high and mighty and get a super model married I’m surrounded by the middle class and marries one never will be in Wikipedia we both are active in the food chain and wonderfully living our lives. You become a CEO or rather own a firm I get employed by you to run your empire we both sure need each other to function and drive. Gold and Diamonds will decorate the casket of your funeral mine may not even be worthy of a coffin, just a plain box we’ll nevertheless be dead and our chapter closed without preference. It is only a pathology when the eye gets larger than its socket, comparison cuts the muscles of esteem and gives greed a new suit, making simplicity a very complex attribute to attain and a life full of complexities a better friend to existence. Life is simple, we just make it complicated. A civil servant wants to live at par with a tycoon allowing his throat tie down the strength of his hands. Every destination has different roads, be it the highway or a rocky path. Take the one within your speed limit, the timing may show some reaching before or better than others but the most important thing is, the destination reached as achievement is decorated while life stay simple.

Everyday is Beautiful

Everyday is beautiful, son,
and no that's not being optimistic.
You're here - you're alive - with one more day on your plate.
That's just being realistic.

Tuesdays are for Tenderness, for the little things found beneath the rubble:
a flower peeking or a new-dream seeking, even though its subtle.

Wednesdays are for Wishes --- like hoping on that pretty, pretty star,
for something just around the corner is never all that far.

And Thursdays are for Thoughtfulness, on those reflective afternoons,
where all of life hangs between your ears, as your heart struggles to make room
for all the love that's bursting inside of you ...

            (I know it's there!
hiding somewhere ... perhaps beneath the dirt and muck)

Fridays are for Friendship --- to the ones who you know true,
and hold you oh so close, despite all of life's various hues.

Saturdays are for Sanctification from all of distraction's clutter;
an occasion to make small your piece of toast, for there's too much of time's butter,
spreading oh so thin on Little You.

And Sundays are for Sunflowers, and the smile that ensues on even the coldest soul.
Treasure it child, if you ever see it bloom, for she's a fragile beauty that makes you whole.

Yes, my son ... EVERY day is beautiful, and Mondays especially,
for that's the day we praise our Mothers,
for giving birth to us at such a time as this (God knows it wasn't easy)
And no, I don't need to see the Seven Wonders,
to know how beautiful life can be,
for I've got all the splendor I can handle ...

... seven days a week.

Autumn

                       Autumn
                a chilling wave
          crunching melancholy
   nostalgic for summer warm heart
shrinking passions of deciduous souls
       perennial strain for blending
                 raking over losses
                     as we behold
                          Autumn
                          Autumn
                 rebirth and growth
             a carving golden Nature
mother earth to ripe souls gives birth
       harmonious fall of mellow aura
         a promise of blooming roses
                the poets fascination
                       enrapturing

- Secret -

With sparkling stars of gold
Make a wish, maybe it will change your destiny
The universe is enormously, find your own shiny amulet
Take a deep breath,
and never forget how blessed you are
Everything has a meaning
The stars shine for the whole world
You and me ~ rich and poor
In war and peace ~ with love and grace
Did you know ~ ... an adorable little secret;
The moon kiss each star goodnight

Follow The Bouncing Ball

She dresses the land down
in a virginal bridal gown
a masterfully cut and sewn chenille
shines brightly with a fine crystal appeal

Her assistants work quite diligently
to add special touches and then flee
they decorated the mountain peaks
using all their white glitter techniques

beat beat beat beat

pause

one small step to the side

As an observer...

your feet quake in their shoes
your body heat quits without notice
your nerve endings are on edge
your common sense walks out the door

 listen

A little girl tells her mother
" Mom look big, fat, snowflakes"

they are

Brave
you look out at winter
unmoved she looks right back at you
with a chilling icy stare
freezes the turkey in the oven - to the bone.

she exhales a wispy sigh
by her royal blue decree
a below zero degree.
she is brutal, my oh my!

beat beat beat

pause

another step to the side

Back to all the children lean
Back to younger than nineteen

Back to those in their twenties
Those were my best years, twenties

Back to men and women below fifty
don't know why but they look happy

Skates are sharpened
Skis brought out of storage
You can hear the sound of coats,
Zippers being pulled to up above the neck
Sounds of thick socks and scarfs
walking out of cedar drawers.

Toboggans racing down hills
Kids right behind them wondering
why their sliding on their own butts
Trying to catch their brand new ride.

Snowboarders execute their killer moves
no judge no jury it's all 'bout the grooves

beat

pause

here's where this poem
steers off the beaten path
so hold your breath

beat beat beat          beat beat

here we go
with the flow

Winter has arrived,

beat

oh sh~t here we go

My God
Winter
Has
Arrived

This woman is far from shy
She with that dry ice heart
That woman will cut you open
With the chill of her breath

That's right Dorothy
were not in Kansas anymore

This Witch is East, West, North, South WICKED!
We're not even in Oz this Witch is spelled with a
B and she's got a hell of an itch, if you catch my drift

I preferred her father he was kind compared to her
since she took his place minus forty is a warm day
she dresses in winter white but the Grinches
coal black heart at least had some life in it, this
women is down the toilet with her potty mouth
her heart is frozen solid Dead! Bad! and Beyond!

With her there is no such thing as a thaw
even her brother was occasionally warm
Not her she'll shrink your willy
from ten to two inches long
(who the heck is willy, should we free him?)

Don't test her she is far from tame
She'll freeze your flesh, use your frozen balls
as ice cubes for her one hundred and forty
proof vodka. Laugh in your face as she downs
her drink. Then gargle with your family jewels.

Ever notice how you never see the Devil
at the peak of winter, even he fears her
She froze off the tip off one of his horns
When they were kids and not a thing he could do
She's family - hands off - if you know what I mean
There has to be honor in a house of thieves

Winter is here
and it's frikkin cold
she'll drop six feet
of the white sh~t
in a single go

hhhhang onnnn
back to some sanity
let's end this with some
bullsh~t poetic beauty

Did I mention Ontario's Niagara On The Lake
Did I mention Ice Wine and tasty Frosted Cake

hang on to your pants
beat beat beat beat
beat beat here goes

During the christmas holidays you
have to go to the Falls, what a venue

Niagara Falls itself is quite amazing
The powerful lights they shine blazing
Against the thundering waters rushing
Like the results of an artist's airbrushing
The Festival of Lights is also worth perusing
It is a path you follow in your car just cruising

We follow it up with Montreal every year
It is a long tiring ride but we're finally here

It's a New Year - all the land is aglow
Voices of children playing in the snow
Sculptures for the festivities come to life
Lights shine- with colors bright - people rife
With enthusiasm for The Festival Of Ice
A family event in this winter paradise

beat beat beat
once last walk  on the wwwwwwild sssssssside

A Winter Paradise? pahh!
The B~~ch  gargled with
Your Gonads in her mouth
She used them as ice cubes
Who DOES that?

Yes this is a chilling ending
but an ending all the same
you all come back now
you hear? The End!

beat beat
and now the refrain
beat

Come on Manuel it's back
to the igloo with us. (Now why
did I say that in my John Cleese
Voice.There's Something Faulty
there. The man Towers above me)

No Senior this winter thing
She is not working out for me
You stay if you like, I am visiting
my friend in Malta...

Better days

                Better days
Is all good
To hope for
 The better days
But is there
Actually better days
Without making today
The best

Oh better days
Can't be without
The best of today

Better days
Too many knees on the
Ground
Too many heads kissing
The floor
Too many hands
with ten fingers
Together straight up
Like a triangle
In deferent pulpits
Deferent temples
All to one just
Praying and hoping
To god
For only the
Better days

Oh better days
Can't be without
The best of today

Better days
Too many questions
I ask myself
Too many places I
Go
Like I see life's
As they live in darkness
While they keep
Hoping for the
 Better Days
Some believe
The better days only
Exist After life
With their religion
While a kind
Like me live
the better days
Now with love

Oh better days
Can't be with out
The best of today

Better days
What make a day
Better than another
How can we hope
For tomorrow
While we waste today
Away with our ignorance
Oh live every day with
Love and you will
Always have the best of
The day
With love
each day is better and
Better
Here you will always have
A
Better days

Oh better days
Can't be with out
The best of today

Better days
Love yourself
As you love another
Love what you do
Do what you love
Believe in yourself
For you and your image
Is god
Their is no god but you
And all around you
Love nature respect
Humanity
Live not with greed
For your soul not
To be lost to vanity
On and on
Above all
Love life for
Life is love
Love is life
As you live with
This principles
You always live
Now as each
New day comes a
Better days

Oh better days
Can't be with out
The best of today

Treat Yourself

I invite you to go wild
laugh until your sides near burst.
And play like you were a child,
letting raindrops quench your thirst.

Start a fire with scraps of wood
or sculpt castles made of sand.
And pick berries that taste good
or build forts to scout the land.

Splash in the creek in bare feet
chasing fish that swim away.
And track monsters to defeat
sweating heat of summer’s day.

Giggle at the dog's kisses
or run like you’ll never stop.
And poke a snake that hisses
or climb a tree to the top.

Gaze at clouds billowing by
in the middle of the day.
And treat yourself to peach pie,
like every day's your birthday.

Poetry is a Risky Business

Poetry is a Risky Business

The Recipe for Poetry

Open stereo
Turn volume medium high
Poor 3 shots of whiskey
Add 2 bottles of wine
Open 1 bag of chips
Add one box of Oreos
Listen to Alice Cooper
Then Abba
Then Dance of the knights
Then listen to all 3 at the same time
Stick pins into the doll of your ex
For added drama add some ketchup
Open up 2 brands of cheese
Because that shows some class that you have 2 types on hand
Do this
Before opening second bottle of wine
This way you’re not an alcoholic
Turn on some Paul McCartney and Uriah Heep
During moments the stereo is on high volume
Sing along
Down to the skivvies it is, if you have a hockey stick
A little air guitar for some added inspiration
Cut up some Edgar Allen Poe poems
To put between the Oreos and cheese
Eat till the feeling of darkness overcomes you
Let your thoughts simmer 5 hours
Voila done

When you wake up
You should have 1 or 2 poems facing you

Who ARE You --- Not For Contest

As the hourglass gets filled with sand,
they take time to ask me who I am,
but who are YOU? to ask such a question...

Did I invite you into my world,
with bright pink signs pointing to my direction?

>>>> OVER HERE! INSANITY BY THE BUCKET! <<<<

BUY ONE GET ONE FREE (what a steal)

Is that the way you feel? Am I just a novelty
for your ogling eyes?

(well judging by my pretty face --- I'm not surprised)

But there is such a thing as common courtesy,
though considering your modernity
I doubt you even know how to do a curtsy
with your LOLing to the moon and back

*deletes evidence of acronyms
in a flash*

...... getting back (ahem)
to the point.

I really ought to stop while I'm behind
before people start questioning my modesty

(are my metaphors too revealing?)

GOOD one! (yup ... I'm stealing!)

And before things go from bad to worst
you really ought to knock first,

catching me in poetic undress

(how embarrassing
when people see your haiku
aaa-HA!)

And did I say you can come in?

(slick intruder that you are with feline finesse)

I should be downright insulted by your nonchalance
to rifle through my cranium, feather duster in hand,
taking advice from the motel maid

      (don't try to hide it)

We all know you can't get enough of it,
so what's the big deal?

(are you still reading this ... FOR REAL?)

Wow! What a champ!
Do you want a golden stamp?

(the universal postal service is outrageous
anything past Mars is too far)

Now what rhymes with far?
Bar, Car, Star, ... OOOO CZAR (bet THAT hasn't been done before)
Are you having fun yet, just like a kid in a candy store?
Are you addicted yet ... do you crave more?
Thinking of the best way to rot your teeth to the core?

      (pick your poison peeping tom)

... wide open eyes through the crack in the door,
getting looksies at my under

lying meaning.

Sometimes I get tired of your probing!
Your seeing of things never meant to be known,
your x-ray vision analyzing my bones.

I suppose it can't be helped though,
it's just how it goes, you know?

I never meant it to go this far ...
a handful of lines was all I asked!

Now look at the poetic aftermath.

This is how it is in a world full of noise,
if I didn't want you to hear my voice, weeell

(perhaps I ought to reconsider my career choice)

NOTE: I thought it was fitting to add a picture of me given the subject matter.

The Duck That Lost His Quack

The Duck That Lost His Quack

A Duck woke up late one day last week,
And all he could do was to squeak.
He looked everywhere and listened to different things,
Even heard sounds all around, from pings to zings.

For example, he tried many gates, stairs, and barn doors,
Then went and stepped on cracks in nearby creaky floors.
He visited several witches, doctors and some were both,
They prescribed everything from lemons to ginger troth.

In his travels, he came across a quaint woodshop,
Being so tired, he sat down with a solid plop.
A carpenter saw that the Duck was so very sad,
From behind the counter, he came to help the lad.

After hearing of the tale of a missing sound,
The carpenter leapt up with a double bound.
He said, “From within is where it comes,
Not outside, as most would sum.”

“I have made many instruments for music,
And what you need is something acoustic.”
He brought out a short board with a nail,
Then attached several metal strings to a pail.

The carpenter said, “Play away and listen to the sounds in your head.”
The Duck strummed everything from Enya to the Grateful Dead.
After a fashion, the Duck was soon lost in the tunes,
And started to dance and sing like a midnight Lune.

Who knew that this Duck had a knack,
And in the middle of it all started to quack.
So you see, it’s not external to what you seek,
In many cases, its internal and who you meet.

Written by Michael Eastman, 8-25-2015,

This, after listening to Bubbles the Mouse speak,
And hearing a long story composed of squeaks.

Smile

If you have suffered many things
Just remember when you where small,
Swinging on swings
Playing with balls.

Then a smile suddenly appears
Don't cry!
No more tears!
Just smile, for a while...

Poet Destroyer Parades and Carnivals

Poet Destroyer - Parades and Carnivals

Soft feathers gather up with color
On the wind to play as friends
They come floating first above the boulevard
Kind thoughts there elevate, somewhere between the innocence
Trumpets, drums and violins come thumping on the street
Poet Destroyer is there to keep the peace
Hiding in disguise as Linda
She jumps up one thousand feet and lands
Right in the heart of Poetry Soup with marching bands
Flutes come alive while she eats fire
Catching knives between her teeth, and bullets just for fun
While petting hungry tigers, yawning all the while
Parades fill in the rest of life with yellows reds and peach designs
When PD comes marching down the streets all smiles
She wakes up, takes on greater feats
Casting royal colors in purples, gold and lavenders
Announcing the start of carnival
Trusted, serene, sweet dreams and memories
She speaks of dragons flying by her side in times gone by
But today, arise!... carnivals, parades, and dancing happy feet
Bad memories sink out of sight
Diabolical forces, hard matters, enemies of play
Will have to gravitate their weight some other day
No draconian measures or moments here
PD has come to host parades and gaiety
Delicious love and fun gather up the sun
You can certainly feel the warmth
Rising lighter than the feathers to tickle everyone
Linda jumps again and does it just for fun

A New Girl

The kindly old man, had become irritable
Over the death of his wife
Not one iota of happiness left
Those golden years, ripped from his life
She had been, an excellent, engineer
Keeping everything in order
He had learned, to appreciate, her generous ways
Tried to always, be genial, toward her
A knock at the door, caught him off guard
Since no one ever came by
He opened the door, to a noisy orange box
When a puppy lit up his eyes
Admiring the dog, he first thought how costly
This kink was simply absurd
It emits, those whimpering, puppy cries
He comforts, with baby talk words
Holding it close, a kiss on his cheek
His heart melts, as he takes her inside
He's caught a new girl, names her Iris
For the flowers his wife romanticized
First visit to the vet, to have her checked out
She immediately chases a cat
The smiling old man, gathers her in
Softly gives her head a love pat

Insistant Fires

A collaboration with Dan Kearley
Thanks for writing with me! : )

Feelings that we sometimes feel,
can be bound in ties that bind.
Flaming heart felt insistent fires,
kept hidden that no one else can find.

As you look at yourself in the mirror,
are you pleased with who it is you see?
Is this the person you had set out to become,
or a stranger who longs to be set free?

To truly live is to never hold back,
let your passion be a guide to your way.
Find that spark that let's you live,
by taking action into the light of a new day.

You will find your true purpose and the meaning of life,
if you trust the inner voice, you have hidden inside.
Never give up, laugh, and learn to forgive,
then you will realize, it's a gift to just live.

Ride

There's an urgent feeling, sweeping 'cross the land
The hourglass is approaching, it's final grain of sand
Terror pulls the trigger, hearts begin to quake
Searching for a way to escape.......

There's a Revelation in the back of the book
'Talks about a tribulation, It's bad everywhere you look
But down at the Station, folks are boarding fast
Leaving from what's gonna come to pass

To the restless, the rejected, to the broken and the blue
The Messenger's still shouting all about the Good News
Thank GOD some have listened, they've heard the whistle blow
As angels sing "Sweet Chariot Swing Low"

On that train ain't no tension, ain't no talking trash
Ain't no poor folks section, everybody rides first class
See that light in the tunnel, the redeemed are coming through
And the Redemption Rail has room for you

But you ain't got enough money to buy a ticket on that train
'Cause they've all been purchased in a Carpenter's name
But if you want to claim him as your destiny
Come on!! You can ride...for free!

A Prayer for the Elderly

I prayed today for the elderly
They long to hear for you to say
Words of love and words of praise
With acts of kindness they once gave.

And if you’re going by their way
They’d like for you to stop and pay
A visit where you both can play
Disregard what you may.

Before their heads they shall lay
At night before the sun and it’s ray
When they bow their heads as they pray
Praying you and everyone will be okay.

LIVE LAUGH LOVE

(Rhyme) Think of every thing That you can attain today Enjoy every dream you can And make it part of each day You don't have to be well-known or rich, To find happiness under the sun, You can smile now and be happy Even if there's no one there for you Celebrate life and appreciate yours, Each autumn, summer, winter and spring, Make each and every dream come true, Remember, you can accomplish it all too Don't let anything or anyone stand in your way, Live, laugh and love, with passion and learn each day. When I Close my Eyes

When I close my eyes I see your face
Shining beautiful like summer's grace
I see sweetness in the curve of your smile
Which lingers in my mind for a while
Yet in your eyes I see a lonely dove
Who yearns for man's honest love
Majority of your years you've had so much strife
Yet you still deserve a man in your life
So break the bonds and mould the pain
For there is still much more to gain

Relieving one's self of stress

There are so many things we like to share
And bring love in to take away care
The best way to relieve stress
Is to remember the good times and happiness

We hear the words of grief and trouble
And we know that we can halve it and not double
We have been given the gift to see the funny side
With laughter and smiles so far and wide

Sharing our stories and kind words from the start
And the pleasure we bring will melt every heart
And help to heal loneliness, fear and pain
Then as we leave and please come again

Cards of Love

Just children with their homemade card
Brought so much joy when I was down.
I was so sick my heart was scarred,
Just children with their homemade card.
To show their love, it was not hard,
Their love to me a peaceful gown.
Just children with their homemade card
Brought so much joy when I was down.

The Fork in the Road

I can give a chick an option
And she'll pick the other path
Just to divide herself
Like she out here doing math
Calculating all the ways things can go bad
She don't understand happiness
Cause she's used to being sad
I grab her by the hand
And slightly stroke her on the face
Tell her I want to be her man
But to this touch, she can't relate
She stuck in the past
But we've all made mistakes
She think all I want is ***
But I'll work hard for 1st base
Just to round 2nd
After days of going on dates
I want to slide home
But for her, I have to wait
I'm ol skool baby
I do things a different way
Been retired my jersey
I ain't got no time for games
I love a good challenge
So I play to win
I'm trying to be your future
So my time, I present
Your beauty is a present
Let me bask your presence
I want you to be my woman
So let me be your man

- My Boat -

Love my name ~ but never take it
Feel my heart ~ but never crush it
Read my words ~ but never destroy them
Warm yourself in the sun ~ but share it with me
Listen for my sad song ~ comfort me
See my smile ~ laugh along with me
A poem from my soul ~ I will be happy to share
A thought taking birth
Eyes that see even in deep darkness
A human being
I travel in my little boat in the open sea ~ there's room for you too
The whole world in front of our feet
Sunrise and sunset
An adventure ~ if you want
Together ~ always
Not in a war zone
A
peaceful journey
in
an intoxication of love
that never
will end
