I always answer
     Without hesitation
          To adventure’s calls
Through waves that toss
     Winds that batter
          I survive squalls

On a sea of emotion
     Alone I swirl
          Feeling blue
My rowboat has two oars
     Two benches
          Shouldn’t it carry two?

Sky and sea
     Speak of eternity
          But they have each other
I would give all
     Just to know love
          And sail with another

Windswept

Over sheet music, harmonious movement of sand.
Droplets of rain dance - time swooning on sea and on land.

Cupid’s arrows climb, descend strings of the violin.
Heartthrobs, side by side, in best dress, on seasonal spin.

Fingers up and down long necks, in obeisance of song,
as bow ties glide along knightly, mounting music, strong.

Ultra concentration as the conductor gyrates,
creates, weights, debates, elongates, plaits and translates.

Unity in mass, jealousy laid aside, except
for the audience who longs to climb inside, windswept.

Ebb and flow of tears, patiently are kept and foreswear
allegiance to current marriage with hasty prayer.

Silver fox-french horns, don’t withhold their breaths, breasts pounding.
With lilt, rapturous, they’d give up their lives, resounding.

White pages, pristine ties, good looking manners of tides.
Hourglass climax expires. Silence shatters. Faith abides.

Premium Member Autumn Flurry of Windswept Sooth

Those pesky leaves adored by youth.
Hued leaves and wind, a conjoined twin.
Autumn flurry of windswept sooth.*
Kids harvest fell-wings, to jump in.

Hued leaves and wind, a conjoined twin.
The twirl, the whirl of crimson red.
Kids harvest fell-wings, to jump in.
Crisp yellow, brown and purple fed.

The twirl, the whirl of crimson red.
Six feet deep, each yard grows fatter.
Crisp yellow, brown and purple fed.
When swept in piles, they oft’ scatter.

Six feet deep, each yard grows fatter.
Autumn flurry of windswept sooth.
When swept in piles, they oft’ scatter -
Those pesky leaves adored by youth.

once upon a time
a wedding day handkerchief
with lovely white lace

an old garter belt
borrowed and fastened on thigh
a groom with blue eyes

a nosegay bouquet
tucked in baby’s breath
fastened with ribbon

the bride’s train so long
ring bearer, flower girls ride
for a couple hours

then into the wind
with the groomsman by her side —
the unbridled bride

High atop a mountain, a windswept hill
I thought I'd found my true love, name of Jill
We arched our backs and kissed
   I thought I heard a 'Pssst'

so this is it?
we are calling it a day
even though it's night
who said we can't change the rules?

it is just a simple line
   between here and there
in the middle is where we're suppose to exhale
but you decided to inhale would be best

who knew that would be like a new start

walking away should not have been a factor..

     windswept we were

bold steps were needed,
no one said we should do it all in one day...

take your time…

Premium Member Windswept Beauty

Wind Swept Beauty.
.
Upon hilly brackish tor
Of a wild inhospitable
Windswept ambling moor
Woolly sheep chew cud and bleat
In the shadow of the over looking
Rugged towering sister mountains
.
A sprawling sweeping land
Of tawny browns and greens
And carpets of purple heather
Laid by God’s hand in between
.
Linier lecithin blotched
Higgledy piggledy drystone walls
Boundary lines
Thickets of bracken
Woody copper copse
With steeple wind battered tree tops
.
Silver ribboned stream and brooks
Snaking through the rugged land
Gushing rushing over
Stone pebble and boulder
Sparkling cold clear and clean
Lazy pouting gasping trout
Suddenly turn and try to kiss the sky
As a flock of flapping crows
With raucous calls pass by
.
A harsh unforgiving land
Weather beaten unrefined
Rugged beauty upon sodden earth
On which it defiantly stands
Under temperamental moody
Ominous varied darkened sky’s
Capturing many a heart
And pleasing the eye.
.

Windswept Dreams

Windswept dreams

My windswept dreams

follow satin spider webs,
creating wish spun tapestries,
in patterns of desire threaded
among yawning willows
lazily flowing, shifting colors,
reflecting the cheerfulness
of an early morning sun,
blue skies smiling

Love sent messages,
passionate poetic whispers,
floating on powder puff clouds
softly wafting the winding path
woven of marigold promises
and butterfly tickles, through
oleander hedge mazes
shaped of nature’s beauty,

guiding them to your heart

Ode To a Windswept Child

16.12.08

Proud windswept child
How shall I not
Look onto thee with fright?
- The Lord has spoken,
Loud and clear -
His will men cannot fight.

The Lord has spoken,
Yes - He said -
"As Sarah thou shall be -
The mother of six millions,
Those perished and decieved."

The Lord had mercy over me -
He sent His Angels forth,
Those strong-winged guardians
With their hard,
Never failing support.

Until the end comes
I shall fear
To speak about their names:

Of Hunger,

Pain,

Of Terror,

Grief,

And of their brother -

Shame.

Oh windswept child,
Thou need not say
What Lord has given thee -
The might of all Jerusalem,
The freedom of the sea...
And blissfully He lets you stand
Before my tearless eyes -
He gives you sheer naivety,
A will to be surprised.

So easily He lets you think
All power is now yours -
But lessons history shall teach
Will show that you were wrong...

Windswept Trees

It is late autumn with windswept trees,
Now stripped of leaves
Once vibrant with colorful hues,
Now dull, lacking brilliance, or
Windswept and leafless.

Oak trees, deeply rooted, now
Russet and muted
Stragglers, rarely leafless til spring.
Setting the mood bleak,
It is late autumn with windswept trees.
