Anxiety (The Worst Noose In Town)

-- like flooding waters, creeping in
I count 30, seconds, holding my breath again
Drowning in agitation, overwhelmed by fear
I try to hide the pressure in hopes I don't pass out
My pores are soaked, from all the perspiration
I feel the pins and needles pushing in
My skin is ruined from all the peeling
At this point, I can't seem to win

Washed out by dead hope and desire
My soul is lost searching for a shore
leashing, grasping and ripping the chest wide
I count 40, seconds, once nausea can't be blocked
Everything about this moment is driving me mad,
I need to escape, however, my knees are too weak
I tremble while losing control to the emotional distress
My knuckles are pale, detached from reality,
wounds forced with further embarrassment.
Guaranteed failure surrounds my day
Numbness strikes my very essence - I can't move!

Lost in a room,
Therapy - even so I feel singled out

I Know of Great Love

I know of great love...
the kind of passion that
surpasses ecstasy into
a world of oblivious bliss
soaring among the clouds
in the ethers of heaven
with a newness that
never grows old or faint.

I savor these golden
treasures within my heart,
within my mind that is
filled with memories of
past and present as I look
forward to our future
moments, suspending us
in love's rapturous arms.

No love song could express
the joy you have given me,
nor the Valentines of
intimacy written by poets
with profound adoration.

Your voice is my love song,
your tender touch, my bliss,
your warmth, my security in
feeling, I know of great love.
You are now and will forever
be my beloved Valentine!

Premium Member I Share My Soul

A pair of morning doves, preen and prim,
snuggled close on their favorite limb.
And cooing low, wake a sleeping sun;
singing praise, for a new day begun.

A slip of a ghostly moon rides low,
wearing its light like a pale halo.
And Sol ascends, master of the day,
heralding Dawn's breathtaking display.

Vapors shed crystal tears on the grass,
depositing dewdrops clear as glass.
And blooming flowers imbue the air;
a sweet fragrance, beyond compare.

Palm trees clad in a southern motif,
tickle the skies with a feather leaf.
And skittish crabs play tag with the waves;
darting in and out of flooded caves.

Sipping wine while enjoying the show,
we greet the day with a happy glow.
And as romance and Nature combine,
I share my soul with my Valentine.

Night of Dreams

Under stars so bright
Under guise of night
Night laid low
Night shall show
Show sparks of gold
Show feelings told
Told in heaven's skies
Told in gleaming eyes
Eyes so blue
Eyes held ever true
True love grows
True love we only know
Know in this my heart
Know here my feelings start
Start so ever deep
Start where we will keep
Keep our romantic rendezvous
Keep alive our "I love you"
You as one with me
You can only see
See where our futures lie
See our visions fly
Fly up to greater peaks
Fly to where our cravings seek
Seek your soul to get
Seek times to not forget
Forget me not
Forget your scent
Scent of ambrosia
Scent of seduction
Seduction fills the air
Seduction for two
Two minds
Two lips
Lips ruby red
Lips trace
Trace your fingers
Trace your kiss
Kiss me
Kiss me my sweet
Sweet love of mine
Sweet as the daisies sway
Sway into my arms
Sway softly away
Away with my charm
Away in my dreams
Dreams of a fairytale story
Dreams of a life in love
Love . . .
Story . . .

Premium Member Valentine Hearts

I close my eyes and you, my love, are there.
I hear your deep voice as in our love song:
“Endless Love”, you sang, and I am aware
Your missing arms are where I most belong.
So many years we learned to share our parts
As our divine souls melded into one,
We loved each moment in our heart of hearts,
Such opposites we were, yet we had fun.
As this romantic lover’s day arrives,
My memories of you are crystal clear.
You Rest In Peace my love, yet our love thrives,
My spirit feels your spirit always near.

Deep in my heart I know you still are mine.
You will forever be…….my Valentine.

 Somewhere in a strange land
An unknown heart throbs for me
Etching an amorous graffiti
On the blank walls of my mind
Where ever I am, I feel a pair of eyes
Fondly surveying and scanning me,
Speaking to me in silence
And keeps me awake in the night
I feel it all, I hear it all
Filling me with a sweet ache!

When night birds croon in the woods
And their mates answer the serenade,
When the moon begins her somnambulistic walk
And light beams percolate through pine needles,
When glow worms float in darkness
Like cruise ships over the sea,
When the opening Jasmine secretly exults
In her own exotic scent,
Sitting in my dimly lighted room
I draft this message of love
Pouring all my warmth into it
Thus emptying my love laden heart
That blazes with the fire of love
And encode it in cryptic script
To be mailed to you, my love!

Oh, it might take much time
Better it be a whispered endearment
Sent through this perfumed night breeze
That shall carry it from this end to that end

So kindly leave your window open!

Forever is a word for fools,
a word that describes a time
that will never come.
Always is a word for dreamers,
a word that describes wishes
and forgets reality.
Never is a word that forgets
what we don't know about tomorrow.

As for me, I'm a fool forever,
who dreams of always
having you to love,
and never forgets that tomorrow
is nothing without you.

Premium Member Still Starts When It's Cold

she walks into the room
the same way she has for 40 years—
half-asleep mumbling about the price of eggs
but crap, she still makes my heart stop.

you’re the last busted payphone
that somehow still dials home.
you’re the only damn thing
that still makes sense
in a world full of unpaid bills and
broken air conditioners.

your heart’s a busted radiator
still kicking out heat when I need it most.

The cigarette burn on our old kitchen counter—
scarred in, not going anywhere.

hell, you’re a rusted-out truck that
still starts when the whole damn world’s frozen over.

we aren’t perfect but we lasted.
and that’s better than any damn valentine poem.

Premium Member Valentines Death

Red roses true
Skies so blue
Lovers doing what lovers do
Chocolates and confessions
of eternal love
Building up hopes and dreams

I, behind the counter
At the ripe old age of 69
Watch all the youth
Filled with hope and desire
Love is like clouds in the carefree sky
They all stare and thrust
Hoping to latch onto a dream

Reality is not so kind
Illusions die on the ides
Kisses left unfulfilled
Roses with more thorns than hope
Wine so sour, blood is in flavor

Ah, but for now they are all happy
Holding hands and bouquets
Pink roses and red carnations
The road they know not to damnation

Who am I? To spoil a dream
Who am I? To laugh when they scream
You see love was a knife
That murdered me long, long ago

I may breathe, but the death possessed me
The life all but left me
So tonight as lovers kiss and fondle
I wish them well, from far over yonder
I kicked out the chair
The rope taunt and tight
As my last breath
Whispered to my long lost love
Good night

All year long he puts my heart on a shelf
No surprise I’d rather be by myself
     If there’s no Valentine treat
From this worthless hunk of meat
He can go on making love to himself

Remember there’s an “I” in Valentine
So if no one’s around to say, “Be mine”
Just splurge – get a new hairdo
     Party with an all-girl crew
Check out the divorce rate and say, “I’m fine”

Forever dazzling golden memories treasure flashbacks
Floating always within deep waters mirror reflections

There's nothing in the universe that compares to you
Into our world of inspirational and beautiful dreams

Growing wings in loves light freedom flies
Inside dancing warm waves of feathered feelings

I believe that you're my destiny I see the shine in my life
These are the special things that make me love you

Soul touching beautiful blue rising sparkling diamond kiss
Salted from deepest ocean currents one dream sings

Exactly where the ocean begins and it decides to meet
Making me want to live in the moment forever

Sweet lips burst with flavor tides turn as the piper fish plays music
Flying over the sea sweet tunes dancing in ripples of light

With honesty and compassion a gift so great
I can only give you one thing my love is where you are

Premium Member Venus Courts Mars On Valentine's Day

A single red, heart-shaped balloon isn’t enough
So I splurge and buy fourteen adorned by cupid
I tie them to the chair of my beloved “Hot Stuff”
To think mere balloons might please him would be stupid

So I search and search for the grandest tea roses
His favorite warm colors are all blended in each
His desk they decorate in striking poses
Hope these will do the trick and his passion beseech

But then I remember his strong chocolate craving
Godiva treats I purchase and spare no expense
Set beside roses, surely he’ll be raving
He’ll be home in an hour; I can’t bear the suspense

When the door opens, I am wearing a teddy
The Valentine card he takes with a gloomy look
When he sees his desk, he wails, “Enough already!”
And he doesn’t even try my straps to unhook

How puzzled I feel when he says, “We have to talk”
No, he hadn’t forgotten this lovers’ holiday
Into his small closet he suggests we should walk
He seems so depressed; I’d expected a hooray

Piled high in the closet are all occasion gifts
Gaudy Christmas sweaters and tons of chocolate hearts
He can’t find his clothes and between us grows a rift
To sort through this maze, he would need a detailed chart

“Take all this stuff with you and please just leave my home
In fact, I’ll pay your expenses to relocate
And be sure to take that hideous garden gnome
Make it snappy, will you? I have a date at eight!”
