Valentine Hearts

I close my eyes and you, my love, are there.
I hear your deep voice as in our love song:
“Endless Love”, you sang, and I am aware
Your missing arms are where I most belong.
So many years we learned to share our parts
As our divine souls melded into one,
We loved each moment in our heart of hearts,
Such opposites we were, yet we had fun.
As this romantic lover’s day arrives,
My memories of you are crystal clear.
You Rest In Peace my love, yet our love thrives,
My spirit feels your spirit always near.

Deep in my heart I know you still are mine.
You will forever be…….my Valentine.

Dear B.J. I am so pleased you liked my Valentine poem. I know my husband is still around in spirit as we smell the incense he used to burn sometimes. Especially when we make changes to our home. I am honored with my first placement. Thank you very much for this contest that inspired me to write this poem, and for my placement. Happy Valentine’s Day. Blessings xxoo

Thank you Mala. My husband was a romantic, always buying me roses and flowers. He grew roses too and orchids and had a green thumb. We smell the incense he used to burn at odd times and we know he is near in spirit. Thank you. Blessings xxoo

Connie this is absolutely awesome poetry, so sentimental and touching, like angels are playing what your words write in your poem , but they are playing them out, on a harp. Your valentine will somehow send you a message on that so romantic day, I do believe that loved ones that have passed on do communicate with us, my father used to smoke a pipe, I often smell the aroma of his tobacco on his birthday, or mine, once on Christmas day. Best of luck in the contest Connie, Blessings, Jennifer.

My husband took wonderful care of me when I went through surgery on my eyes and then again through my knee replacement surgery and broken foot. He found it hard to accept my help when he needed it but I found ways. He was indeed my forever Valentine. Thank you Anitha. Blessings xxoo

Connie, you know I adore your sonnets, and this one is up there with your best. I love the forever aspect you underscore in these words, and that carries over into the next life. I'm sure your Valentine was smiling as you wrote this to him, and that there will be much joy when you are reunited. "As our divine souls melded into one" was just so touching to me. A fave from one of my fave poets. Hugs ~ John

To find one to truly love that is key. Live, love, create a beloved family. Make the coming years, a treasure a gift. Such depths of loving memory uplifts. Your Valentine poem speaks of the love we all want and if we are blessed to find- we hold as precious and so dear. A fav and a beautiful gem too. God bless..
