Best Interlace Poems

Premium Member Why I Weep

I'm named a willow tree and live in grace,
the whole of me distinctive in its shape.
My elegance well suits this lush landscape
of hillocks flung across the field I face. . .
and gentle rills meander through this place.
In spring I don a long virescent cape
comprised of many supple arms that drape
to earth and, with Eve’s shadows, interlace.

Oh, countless times Sun’s flecked my every leaf
and Sky distilled her stars as night would creep.
Young lovers, though, have fled, their time so brief.
They used to spread a cloth to eat; then sleep
beneath me in my shade. They knew no grief. . .
Not privy to their destiny, I weep.

Premium Member I Know a Place

I know the land where the lemon trees flower.
Where bees are buzzing hour after hour.
And on the air a sweet scent floats
With promise of fruits by nature rote

Through peaceful fields winds a path to this place
Where branches of trees overhead interlace
Blue sky and clouds weave magical eaves.
Full of birdsong and fluttering leaves

We can meet in the land where the lemon trees flower
And we’ll be together hour after hour.
Under the scented blossom tree bowers
In a place that is truly, blissfully ours.

Time and Space

Time and space in deadlock
Time unlike the progression of a clock
Time dependent on interpretation
A linear cessation
Space dependent on mass
Triangulation through impasse
Portals of acquisition
An inner self expedition
From a place in time
No origin or termination of the prime
To an interval in space
Where cosmos and time interlace
Affirmation of existential quantification
Often lost with one’s interpretation
Particles floating upon a solar wind
From and to infinity without an end
Matter casting shadows in time’s void
A whirlpool generating ripples outwardly deployed

Premium Member Palm Tree Sonnet

Stiff pleated fronds in concert rise
to wax under the April sun
and trill their canticles begun
in verses jade that they comprise.

Chartreuse of thorny branches splay
a tumult to belie the grace
that on display they interlace
like rose stems on a breezeless day.

Atop the thatched denuded bole
gush fountains cast in cardamom,
an opalescent diadem
that glistens on the mossy knoll.

In thus exuberant array
do cloistered peacocks mime ballet.

On another impoverished evening
so strangely bleak, the moon weeps
for more burning her soul must retain,

And she clings like a stem to the tree of life
that frozen eyes grasp coiled branches,
weighing down on howls of raven’s play.

Just now … crisscrossed sky lanterns
fog the walls of a withering foliage,
like hushed matte from dusk’s greenery

Pouring balm on a requiem in need of shade,
while in her veins drip… a constant gush
as meshed twigs still interlace on leafy ribs

Immersed in the ardor of their moments,
one fragrant orchid and musky trunk…inseparable,
bound together by affectionate, yet lost stars.

With slight acceptance this rooted love will always
meld despite tree of life faintly drooping;
...in clinched angle, she lays on his buried grass

until dim twilight shuts off.

Premium Member Yesterday's Mistake

Finding forgiveness for foolish fights:
my heart tends to overrule my head.
And even though I should know better,
I want to believe every word said.

You swear you'll never hurt me again;
begging me to please unlock my door.
And then you plead for just one more chance,
like you have so many times before.

You'll try to convince me that you've changed:
and in your heart, you care how I feel.
But, although my heart wants to believe:
many painful wounds refuse to heal.

Memories of lies and betrayal
still haunt the outer fringes of hope.
And fueling fragmented feelings;
I am not so sure my heart can cope.

I want to forgive, but can't forget:
some things, even time can't erase.
And when I feel silent screams surface;
fantasies and nightmares interlace.

I'm scared of taking you back, again:
it's such a difficult choice to make.
Do I bet on a new tomorrow
or gamble on yesterday's mistake?

Poetic Communion

Soft whispers spoken under silken sheets
Promises made when strangers meet

Worlds apart yet hearts entwined
Through poetry their love enshrined

Souls joined with soft embrace
Emotions flow and interlace

Shadows flicker in candle light
Two poets lost in sheer delight

Premium Member Once Upon a Blue Moon

There's mischief in the air, and in the sky
Rises fair, sublime, and rare - Blue Moon.
Son of Venus, hidden, now lets fly
An arrow to a chaste fair maid who soon
Shall spy a youthful eager boy and sigh
As through the dance hall wafts a wistful tune.

For she, with goddess body silken-clad,
And rosebud cheeks and locks the color wheat,
Turns - the first she sees - a simple lad.
She's drawn to him - this boy that she must meet.
He sees her too; his countenance turns glad,
For she approaches with a smile so sweet!

Her face feels flushed; her blood now courses fire
beneath the spot where Cupid's dart was thrust.
With lingered gaze she speaks her soul's desire.
A feathered touch. To have him now she must.
Her honeyed voice and breath. He can't respire.
Her scent; the darkened room! He feels the lust.

He takes her by the waist of her soft dress.
They slowly move along the corner floor.
His fingers wrap around her back and press.
She leans into his body, wanting more.
Her fingers tread his neck; then they caress.
And next he leads her to the exit door.

She follows, not protesting, to his place,
Where, on the floor, their clothing soon is flung.
They fall onto his bed in an embrace.
With pleasured aching, soon they're lost among
the tangled sheets as bodies interlace.
He touches where her silken gown once clung. . .

Winged scamp with cherub's face and ready bow,
You laugh at each new fool that you waylay.
For love of reckless passion born, you know,
can't last. She wakes, and you've since traipsed away.
She gasps and shakes. The lad is dealt a blow,
His face once loved - now loathed by light of day.

Premium Member Green Reflections

Deep in a green forest place,
where all creatures interlace,
among the lush all embrace,
while mossy vines grow and twine in swirls !

A tiny frog is leaping,
landing on a leaf creeping,
on a silent pond sleeping,
till' a thump sends his leaf into twirls !

A small butterfly is lost,
on a floating thing is tossed,
frog is looking like a leaf mossed,
reflected in water their leaf whirls !

Premium Member Breathless, Oh

To slow dance into night with a new love,
anticipation building all the while!
To look into your darling’s eyes and see
the adoration that you strongly feel
reflected back, for you too are adored,
and barely can you breathe it feels so good!
Romance has budded sweetly like a rose.
Its scent is pure delight, and petal-soft
will be the kiss that you’ve been dreaming of.

Your fingers interlace. A thrill divine
goes down your spine, and tiny butterflies
are all aflutter in your stomach as
you gaze into the eyes of your amor.
Your love - so fresh - like snow that no one yet
has tread upon; your prints will be the first!
There's nothing like it; never will there be
a thing so beautiful as this first love.

You're both alone beneath a starry sky.
You lean in for that magical first kiss.
There’s nothing else but bliss in all the world,
and breathless, oh, you’re soaring to the moon!

Muir's Mountain Is Calling

Oh! to be among trees, mindful of silent power
in mountains hallowed trails walked by Muir
snow still filling nature’s deep kept secret bower
breathe a bounty of sweet air clear and pure

the rush of streams in springs ever rapid plunge
music played to my footsteps beating drum
water dripping into the grounds wet sponge
snow melts as flowers start to thrive and thrum

he set about recording each feeling, plant and rock
tramped trails knowing there was hidden a clue
we roam the mountain as one of his unknown flock
interlace our souls in a weave that’s as old as it’s new

what words can be found dropped into this silence
when distraction is nothing more than a birds wing
no screens to scream about the daily violence
just lessons of earths sacred bounty worn like a ring

where your eyes meet what has lived serenity bound
falling trees that heard the soil cry with sympathy
decays gift of life as the circle comes to meet around
aligned in time to hear its own life of pure symmetry

caught in a fast web of our own handcrafted design
we can let go to journey upon a mountain path
what Muir saw as seasons to be so innately divine
we carry within our spirits in an inherited shared bath

So! On to the forests and into the depths of green
wear visions of blue sky caught in the white giants lure
adventures drift into the dreams that you’ve seen
on pathways not hallways we answer our cries cure

7am dream

A blond did meet me in the hall,
she was so friendly that's not all,
she leaned against the wall,
as we embraced,
we came together,
my heart raced,
It was real so physical,
dreams are better,
in this spell,
when spirits, interlace.

Yes to great hot dreams,
with a hot blond chic,
when souls do click,
passion flows it seems,
are better than reality,
spirits of sensuality,
my other lover, quick,
where is she?

Premium Member Summer Flowers

Rumi Quote: Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder
                             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Flowers grow in the warm touch of summer,
Jasmine and gardenias smell strummer.
A seductive scent pervades the space,
An illustration of passion transcends interlace.
Sunflower view chases a sun's dazzling pathway,
Pansies proceeds with colors in a bright display.
Lavender-purple petals—are a soothing sight,
Attracting bees and birds, a whimsical flight.
Orchid's elegance is a squint to grasp,
Ginger and heliconia—stories yet unclasp.
Hawaiian blooms, with exotic grace,
Beckon us to relish their vibrant embrace.
A vivid show of marigolds and birds of paradise,
Hibiscus blooms—giving it a divine melodize.
Chrysanthemums, daisies, and dahlias are bright,
It's a tapestry of colors—a celestial sight.
Flowers paint our path from heaven to earth,
It is a symphony of beauty—a gift from birth.
Petunias, as elegant as they seem,
Butterflies flutter—drawn to their gleam.
Cherish summer, with this floral display,
Where summer's embrace holds us sway.
Its beauty inspires,— its fragrance delights,
As we bask in nature's wondrous sights.
                our glistening
                      seeking solace
Thief of Grace
You’re certainly missing out
Whilst you’re fooling about
And you’re swimming in doubt
So I shall certainly you out-rout
I’d advise you to be on the lookout
For I’m your rival, far more worthy a scout
Take heed or you’ll end up looking like a lout
All I can tell you for now is that you’re missing out
While you’re looking away
Twirling in relentless dismay
Your insolence successfully leads you astray
So He finds me in greater favour every day
Unlike you, I’m eloquent with words that gently sway
The God with whom for hours on exhausted knees I stay
‘Till the last hour of the night a dear prayer to say
With heartfelt sobs and a submissive heart I pray away
I whisper, “Dear God of mercy, show me your face
For I am a sinner in need of Your saving Grace
For years in meditation and supplication I’ll chase
The benedictions You bestow unto the winners of the race
The so-called ‘faithful’ ones who cautiously pace
In the promising path which for them You daily trace”
I solemnly utter, “My heart with Love and Faith do interlace
So I can one good day be worthy of seeing Your glorious face”
If you were smart, you’d take after me
Vigilant and sober at all times you’d be
So from the snares of the enemy you’d easily flee
Who’s literally got you down on one knee
Yet too proud you are for your life to give an earnest plea
No diligence whatsoever for efforts to be free
Indeed that thief I am, the thief of grace, you see
Watch out, or you’ll lose all your blessings to me
