Blood mixed with dirt was still moist on the ground
Traces of battle were scattered around
The man entered slowly, a snare on his face
Trying to hide his contempt and disgrace
Announced by the cheers of the people above
Among all the fighters they showed him most love
Never defeated, no matter the foe
With him they all knew they would soon see a show

The man was all muscle, and seven feet tall
Compared to his size, all the guards appeared small
His skin was tanned golden, his eyes piercing green
His hair long and braided and dark with a sheen
His helmet of metal was fitted just so
His sword and his shield had a rich, shiny glow
A belt made of leather protected his waist
His greaves, thick and sturdy and perfectly laced

Suddenly silent, the crowd had grown still
Awaiting arrival, expecting a thrill
And then there was thunder, the roar of the beast
Declaring his entrance, predicting a feast
The man and the lion began in their game
Predator, prey, they both looked the same
They circled and circled and then in a blink
The cat had attacked him, so anxious to drink

They struggled together, the two locked in war
The crowd cheered them on, hoping for gore
And then he was bitten, the wound on his leg
But he would not fumble and he would not beg
He reached for his weapon so close where it lay
He would not accept this would be his last day
And just as the creature had pounced in the air
He killed the great cat with his sword and a prayer

The fighter stood up with his blood dripping down
The steel of his helmet concealing his frown
The great gladiator continued to reign
Another he killed, one more smile he must feign

In the twilight of the night,
shadows dramatically appear dancing
by refracting of lights off
of my massive muscular green body

A monster’s body acquired while saving a young friend
when an invention that I invented exploded

Weary of this madness, I live with,
I exhaust my brain to forge sanity
of the beast that takes hold of me
when the fire of my inner soul is released

Some consider me a superhero
others a mindless savage

I search the universe in hope for a cure
but there is none in sight for the near future

My troubled heart yearns to bath in your presence,
to caress you in my arms,
breathe deep to smell the essence of you,
to venture into your deep brown eyes,
kiss your soft, flawless face, and tender lips

My heart yearns for your tender love and
my salvation to become human once more

Nightmares of this giant green monster
greaves me,
just to think that a slave, I am
to it

A Second Fireless Room

Synthemesc candelabras ache hyacinth desire till woven floors
macabre phoenix grown on veiled crucible vines, dragonflies now
inhabit counter-clocks I've forgotten seer dust ponders hewn salamandrine fire
as a wish to eradicate all a wish denies, You've lost your chance
well I've lost it in the mirror.

I slipped you a talking pill
spearing sun vistas’ translucent din hails those darkest clotted wings
in Babel’s way, so get out of my way, into the waste or into the waves?
Night’s volcanic window-sill maze flattens—castaways untowards sine-greaves’ Latin.

I am Electricity—I laugh at thunder
bellowing at my helm, unaware
that electricity is a sound I share
my unseen body, your shadow, our mezzanine Jericho
shattering in the mirror, drear-dreaming diadem go ahead I’ve lost it,
edelweiss that reads my mind the crimson oars shall never find
nor color’s death: a smiling, stilled lake.

I slip on an unwritten will.

Wind

Elements Part II-Wind
Sponsor: Brian Davey

Brisk breeze beyond the bluster of the buzzes from bumblebees,
great gusts gifted and granted toward the garden full of greaves.

Coiling curves within curls created contingent upon the current,
tangled and torrential twines taking the sea towards the turrent.

High temperatures are hazardous while handling the blowing heat,
weaving winds will wander with or without natures wreathe.

Abducting air is absent while aligned after its zephyr ablazes,
fire forgives fearlessly as the lightening frees the winds uneven frazes.

Society

I am bored with all the lies in the news,
The celebrity’s that live to abuse and misuse,
The war that never seems to end,
The Cosmo articles on “how to steal her boyfriend”
I am bored with reality TV,
To be honest, teenage pregnancy greaves me,
I am bored with the over use of sex,
In our world that loves and then says next,
I am bored with our lack of morality,
Listening to others false realities,
I am bored with our superficial planet,
Plastic surgery is our fruitless magnet,
I am bored with all our family feuds,
A people whose minds have become so skewed,
I am bored of people always complaining,
In a country where we all keep gaining,
I am bored with the lack of common sense,
Where good people run around extreamly tense,
I am bored with public officials putting America in a deeper mess,
Where nobody cares about the real issues that need to be addressed.

Dan Greaves

Discus Dan originally competed in able-bodied events,
In the discus which meant him throwing a 2kg discus,
Rather than the Paralympian 1.5kg metal disc, contents,
And is proud of his able-bodied Under-20 vest, a plus.

But in Sydney in 2000 in the Paras he won the silver,
And then in Athens the next time he threw a top gold,
In Beijing in 2008 he got a bronze as he did deliver,
‘Cos at the F44 throw he has a sure and steady hold.

Dan was born with a foot deformity, loved school sports,
And takes great cheer from today’s huge Para ticket sales,
Which are so much greater than they were before, quarts,
Also also recalls receiving a medal whilst Mo had his sails.

Winter, you made your poise known
   swayed drooping of upper leaves
      now gray, lay on underside
        unbowed by love heartfelt greaves
coy whistling noise breath cold tide

Winter, you made your poise known

Premium Member Roses

Wonderful flowers growing in clusters
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Warming the heart with gentle lusters
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Buds so joyful, who dance with respect
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Dressed in blushing petals which protect
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Lighting the heart with their beauty
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Seemingly sure that allure is their duty
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Rain falls softly at the edges of their attire
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Weaving hope and kindness as they conspire
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Brilliant in blushing pinks and satiny cherry
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Creating more images than found in a library
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Whispers of hope fall across the bud’s bright coat
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Leaving only a melting wish pouring down the throat
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Breathing inspiration from the graceful leaves
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Autumn approaches assuring a heart who greaves
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Love kindles within the soul who can see
   Dewdrop dreams flow serenely
Flowers so amazing will make you feel free
Laughing at the roses so queenly

Kieran Tscherniawsky

Kieran has a lot to do with Stoke Mandeville,
As he has Cerebral Palsy, born in Boston town,
He wants to be a fitness instructor for his till,
And is hooked on throwing discus, his crown.

He was born on the 18th of January in 1992,
And in 2011 in the F33 category of the discus,
He became the junior world champion new,
To qualify him for the London 2012 Para bus.

Sadly he came 10th with 925 points only in total,
But he just cheered on his hero, Dan Greaves,
And then in 2013 he threw a PB at full throttle,
Of 31.51m, in Chester & Manchester leaves.

Due to the meets in Stoke Mandeville’s grounds,
He’s heading for Rio to use that residual muscle,
Which he developed in prior powerlifting sounds,
To beat the rest of the field without much tussle.

The Villain I Become

Shuffling my life around like a gambling cards
Even when I know I may win or lose
But what do I have to lose?
I bet nothing
I’ve been evolving around my kindred circles where I place my priority into my shield
Hoping not to be Hopeless but I gain more less
For I satisfied their thirst even when they left no grumps for me to smash on
They all pretended I have the best closet to my face and laughed behind me sheepishly cause they garnered my rags for their fashions

For I learnt in a hard way when the humiliation brought upon me didn’t pass through my unlock window but my locked beloved heart

I wept joyfully to lose the key to my Paradise
I burnt the bridges like Jacob and become Jeopardized
I purchased a dream in greaves of Graves
I lost my humility to become horror of my situation
I sacred my ego for my alter
I protagonise my redemption for my Antagonism
Then I named the VILLAIN

What You Left Me With 'Why'

Oh how I feel you have got me and feel like giving up
You have ripped me apart crushed my pure heart
Somehow I never won you always managed a cover-up
You both destroyed me in a cruel horrible way
My grandparents saw that I could never ever stay
I am now being punished ripped from the inside out
Now I’m empty trying to keep going with only a shout
Who is listening to my cry’s of help, my life in doubt
I don’t want the hurt no more the pain is to much
I am struggling to get up without a helpful crutch
The flame in me is getting almost extinguished
All the love that’s left has totally relinquished
I carry many pains like the wind carries leaves
It’s torture to my heart that constantly greaves
You hurt me so very bad and both never cared
I never had the courage to ask why, I never dared
Oh why do I keep going, being tortured this way
These horrible thoughts with me every night & day
The struggle gets tougher as each day passes by
I keep asking God this question Why, Why, Why.

Quickanswer

His greaves and helmet throne aside
The clang of discard marked his ride
The lathered horse he stayed astride
Til clothed in but a sword and pride
He pelted through the countryside
Screaming wild invectivecide
At Luvalot who’d stole his bride

Psalms 63:1 - (KJV) (A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.) O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Glowing like the gentle sun, revealing skies
Enthused by luminous hopes, inspirations
Inviting soothing seas, memories, reprise

Feelings awash, hues of vivid sensations
Remembering the most beautiful promise
In rainbow colors, whimsical vibrations

Silencing rain, assuring doubting Thomas
There is wondrous love in the heart who believes
Much more beautiful than the brightest phlomis

Erasing pain and sorrow from one who greaves
His love fills the soul up with amazing peace
It’s the gift for those whose heart truly receives

His blessing, the wonder of love that won’t cease
He’s holding your hand – you’re His masterpiece

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

In the twilight, a voice comes on a still night
Singing of wonder, blessings, insight
Beyond the meanings, beneath the delight
With only the purpose of glistening bright,
Breaking hearts who are, certainly, not right.

In the moments, before joy falls like snow
Blessing away the darkest colors who blow
Soundless flakes, quiet as souls who know
Love is a promise, fading into the distant flow
With a beautiful beyond words, a gentle glow

In the eyes of the heart who sincerely believes
Joy is poured out on the pining soul who greaves
His purpose is to silence tears – His love relieves
He is the light that no shadow of doubt deceives
He’s the life who the greatest poet conceives

Never doubt Him, who melts hearts who’re froze
Assuring souls that His love just grows and grows
There is assurance that He is the light who just knows
Wherever we go, there is assurance that He arose
So each of us can know what it means to be chose!

Glints flashing, gloss on dew washed dawns
as sun dances in glowing flames
soft flow of light like graceful swans
autumn mist swells, playing her games

as sun dances in glowing flames
kindness prepares the voice of grace
autumn mist swells, playing her games
easing heartbreak time can’t erase

kindness prepares the voice of grace
secret faith mends melancholy
easing heartbreak time can’t erase
raising moods who’re creepy-crawly

secret faith mends melancholy
autumn stirs some semblance of hope
raising moods who’re creepy-crawly
pouring out love so hearts still cope

autumn stirs some semblance of hope
psalms of praise, written by bright leaves
pouring out love so hearts still cope
consider the season who greaves

soft flow of light like graceful swans
consider the season who greaves
