Try to live
Try to feel pain with no tears
Try to remember years past and often lost
Try, oh try to know life need not be cold as frost

Ear not the words of those proclaiming silence
Listen to the rhythmic melody; give voice to a new start
The world will follow when you sing from your heart
Believing in things that some may only try

Try, to see, the truth is musical to you and all of thee
Telling histories with music, as soothing as can be
When you sing, and when you inspire our romance
Ones on crutches, they too shall rise and dance

Try, I beg
To see as eye
Even the ear is lost in the sky
Purest of hearts, they never die

Never Surrender

I'm a grit teeth beginner breaking out the cage,
growing stronger and fitter with wit coming of age,
squeezing letters out of lemons got me in a rage,
but this bitter will get better and steal the stage.

I'm out to lay a new way suitable to a renegade,
angrily squashing this yellow fruit into lemonade,
using the skin to pave a golden route in the trade,
writes rooted in the age of this transitional upgrade.

No scourge can submerge the courage I preserve
under the surface, that purrs with an urge
to hand carve words with power and purpose,
this marvellous occurrence repeatedly emerges
and surges undoubtedly delivering superb verses.

Attempts to pull curtains on my spirit,
only teach knowledge that I inherit,
I react and catch before impact to my merit
and you can't collapse the soul of this poet.

Everyone falls but my core's impenetrable,
and my mental resilience is unbreakable,
they can't remove something unshakeable,
trying is a mistake that'll make you miserable.

I've learnt to benefit from attempted attacks
aimed to prevent the way that I vent and act,
catching the weaponry and adding to my stack,
I've a determination that I'll never let crack.

I'll elevate as I stimulate with flow,
and levitate the audience to show,
I'm able to continuously demonstrate
that my work is something to celebrate,
even though my opinion will make them hate.

Coming back is what I do,
don't make me come back for you!

Morning Light

The calm that comes with morning light.
Lying here... from an untroubled night.

Alone, awake after restful sleep.
No tears left, no tears to weep.

Dreaming where dreams were never seen.
Free from all that might have been.

By myself with a pristine heart,
to begin again; a brand new start.

No more fear as I arise.
No sadness here to burn my eyes.

Only peace to guide my way.
No more guilt to mar the day.

My spirit rises in the sun,
as life again has just begun.

Hold Those Tears Falling From Sullen Skies

Hold Those Tears Falling From Sullen Skies

Hold those tears falling from sullen skies
floods below, drown the sorrows of lost men.
Enough that mother earth hears thy sad cries
angelic sorrow, weep thou not in sin.

Remain thee stalwart, life may reverse tides
heaping on thee, joy in sweet future times.
Sun again shines, ending dark, stormy rides
thee shall picnic far off in fairer climes.

When mortal spirits race on foolish paths
happiness flows away as morning dew.
Embrace thee not, misdeeds bring evil wraths
walk faithful course, one that is truly new.

Live life, Fate has no power in Hope's lands.
For even Fate yields to angelic hands.

Last Confession

Final days of truth approach
I'm haunted by a tragedy of living,
remembering what an ignorant fool
I was, indulging only in glowing pleasures
of a world that was full of lies.
Millions of seconds gone,
time misspent in a vast, empty space of life.
What must I do to atone?
I bow my head and on my humble knees
I cross a rainbow bridge,
search for a sweet blessing of love
and find a sweet serenity.

I hear a strange whisper,
A mumbling prayer of love.
It's strange that such an invocation
should ease my penitent pain.
For if old flowers their petals shed,
then there is hope for me
since I'll shed all my transgressions,
acquire new virtuous leaves
and pray to the Almighty
that He'll forgive my sins.

God Is Great

     God is great,
     God is good;
     Let us thank Him for being here;
     And remember, just remember it's Him whom died for us;
     Remember, oh, remember He embodied Jesus Christ;
     God is, God is good;
     God is, God is great, God is good;

     God is great,
     God is good;
     Let us thank Him for creating us;
     remember, remember it's His mercy and grace;
     remember, just remember He creator of all space;

     God is, God is good;
     God is, God is good;
     God is, God is good, God is great;

     God is great,
     God is good;
     Let us thank Him for being Him;
     Remember, just remember it's Him who died for us;
     Remember, just remember He allow Jesus to die on the cross;
To save all sinners lost, to redeem all mankind cause...
God has forever love for us....

     God is great,
     God is good;
     God is good
     God is, God is good
     God is great

Self Doubt

It is a fact that before I wrote True Colours,
I was stuck in a world of black and white bipolar,
encaged in my seat on a non stop rollercoaster,
eating one meal a day cooking bread in a toaster.

Do you know if from here I should.....
Nope wait, if it was you then would....
No I hesitate, before I wasn't sure I could
write so shall I carry on with doubt I'm good.

Should I continue to write?
Stick at it and improve I could?
Would I get better each night?
It's tricky to know if I'm good.

I wish for a talent but it's not apparent,
it's something I want but maybe I haven't.

I'm a thoughtful fighter
with a physical dominance,
who puts pen to paper
with a mental confidence.

The anxiety causes stress
and that makes me a messy mess too,
nonetheless I guess all I can do,
is pursue hopelessness whilst I continue
to harness this writing skill and improve,
while I remain myself and stay true,
or I could give up what do I choose?

It's amazing how the praise can make me lazy,
and all because the bar was raised.
To think that that's where it remains is crazy,
without the application my skill decayed.

Living off past glories and falsely self assured,
hides the fact the present leaves them bored.
The reward is forgotten without consistency
and the reputation plummets into history.

You need to bounce from test to test like a ball,
contest with the very best and prove you're no fool,
then you must not allow the standards to fall,
you must allow a new hunger to be installed.

I continuously doubt what I am all about,
I'm a drought that sprouts limited amounts,
it's the same bounce of the ball in all my bouts,
my mouth shouts in repetition and I've lost count.

I continuously doubt what I'm all about,
I'm constantly worried and living in doubt,
I'm in a black hole will I ever get out,
I continuously doubt so that's what I'm about.

Why would I refuse to continue after I didn't refuse to begin.

- For A Reason -

Joy of living should pulsate in your veins like blood
Joyous time is when spring laughs, expectations fulfilled
Creation of self delusion is boundless
You discover insecurity and admits uncertainty
An orchestra I play second fiddle
The limits are indifferent, discover opportunities
Unfamiliar fruits keep your cool
We climb the mountain trying to create order and safety
In myths pond I glimpsed an image of a slimy frog
Kiss it ~ you can try

Note to Self

Don't let other people
Influence the decisions you make
Don't let other people's opinions
Hinder the risks that you take

Other people are not for you
They won't be there in the end
If they're not happy for you now
They won't be happy when you win

They don't want you to have joy
They only like when you're in pain
They want you to be like them
They want everyone to be the same

Not doing much
Same life, living low
No future, no aspirations,
No ambition, no goals

If you want to be different
You have to set yourself apart
You may hear their words
But don't take them to heart

Rise above the hatred
You know who you are;
You exceed expectations.
Note to self, you're a star.

Last Laugh

They laugh under their sleeves,
as they destroy you,
trumpling you on the ground
like dirt. They laugh visibly
because they think
it doesn't make a difference
if you know their schemes
or not,
for your life is in the balance.

They scorn you
when it starts raining;
the dirt on your clothes
and skin turn to mud.

"The gods have forsaken you!"
they shout.

Little do they know the rains
are fuelling your inner spark,
that has always been with you.

Slowly rise
like a phoenix from the ashes,
as the rains clean your
body and clothes.

The rains turn the ground
to a flood. You levitate.
They drown,
as they look at you with shameful

You laugh last.

My son

Aged four and half, first day at school
he was going to prove he was no fool,
through boredom disrupted his class
which continued each following day alas,
by luck or fate proved he was not pathetic
my poor boy was diagnosed as dyslexic,
many years past struggling but determined
With this unfortunate disability he burdened,
art and design he found his path to success
through art college he did quickly progress,
at age of seventeen discovered with fear
a life threatening heart condition did appear,
after medical procedure, an electrical bypass,
returned to college awarded top of his class,
to university success predicted by forecasters
proved right after four years collected his masters,
with determination, belief, support and direction
Proved to me everyone can produce perfection.

Composed 02/03/2017.

is it the wave kissing the sand
or is it the ocean
- deep from her heart
sometimes gently,
often hard,
but always with passion?

is it the sand kissing back
or is it the land
- happily losing ground
with every kiss
to his eternal mistress,
the occupant of his soul?

is it this poem touching your heart
or is it our souls
- hugging each other
on a sandy beach,
wide and infinite,
day in and day out?

see that smile
it seems real
you would never know she's suicidal
there are so many things she must feel

there is always a label
it was pasted on
she was never able
till she was gone

the blood that flowed inside
as it spilled on the floor
the blades were never pried
from her hands when she wanted more

the crimson out of her wrist
she knew she wouldn't be missed

live before the end

Live before the end
Is always hard to see the flame when you are in the picture
Is difficult to realise how strong you are when darkness overwhelm your light
Is never an easy road to live where death are always no new news
For nothing goes for nothing in this new era of destruction
Yet after the night comes a bright morning

Live before the end
Is hard to live when you are alone among the crowd
Is difficult to live when you are the only human among the sheeps
Is not easy to see when the eyes are close to see on the sight of justice
Yet after the dark cloud come the rain

Live before the end
Is hard to breath when the air is no longer free nowadays is difficult to sleep when we dont know what the morning brings
I thought life has an offer for every human
I thought we live in a world so true
Yet when i look down deeply on life nowadays
It scares the hell in me

Live before the end
Why not take a stand
Why not take a chance
Why not think to live and acept what life offers to you
It could have been worst if the worst dont exist in our life
So stop complaining
Stop wasting time on fear of the unknown
Stop the circle life and think beyound the box
For you oath to be free
So you oath as well to
Live before the end

In unexperienced infancy
Mistakes seemly false, intending true
Adult features with grown up looks
To show many secrets which afterwards you come to know
And make fool in all sort of ways
You are a shadow of yourself

Many years on, the thoughts so tinctured with no reason
And craftiness exist in great perception
Standing up tall yet craddled in low esteem
Premonitions banging out loud, no ears to listen
Your inseparable companion whoose manifestation you ignorantly take
A pestiferous self you will later know
a shadow of yourself

Speakers lament the you in you is you
We get the code but some make no atone
A popular saying that everyone is unique and special
I doubt, for some are but specialist in the shadow of themselves

Permit me to yowl at the single ladies
Having geniue apathy for whom they really are
Taking peeks at their foggy look
Social media tinted with their glamorous artifacts
Seductively dressed to earn fb likes
Little flesh will turn them on, their fetish say
They forget you are addressed the way you dress
Having no respect for womanhood
Solace sister in practice
You are but a shadow of yourself

She's such a beauty to behold
Not so sure if it's love or lust
You sugar coated mouth presenting levels you don't worth
Even though you fake all just to impress her
The real you is a cloud of fine particle that can't be hidden

A life full of pride is a life of shadow
A mouth filled with lies sees no reality but shadows
The more we grow, the more we know
After a time of been just a shadow
We are now strong to walk alone for
We are not created a shadow

#honesty #sincerity #direction #integrity
are what makes you a YOU

Be real, for anyone aside You is already taken!

(A Double Acrostic is one where the ultimate letter of each and every line, matches the first letter of said line. Not the easiest of acrostics to write, if a sense of continuity and logic is to prevail. The next step of course, is to have a rhyming sequence added. I shall leave that for another day!)

The River of the Soul

‘By the waters of Leman I sat down and wept.’
– From ‘The Waste Land’ by Thomas Stearns Eliot.

If you,
Weary of the dim,
Harassing life decide to spend some
Of your miserable time at the river,
It will surely bring along your corpse.
But where are you going to be then?
Still on the bank
Or will the Soul River drift you away?

Genres: koan*, philosophical, personality

* A Koan is a fundamental part of the history and lore of Zen Buddhism. It consists of a story, dialogue, question, or statement, the meaning of which cannot be understood by rational thinking but may be accessible through intuition or lateral thinking.

Not Afraid Part 1

This cannot repeat or loop around anymore, in my direction,
I've had the wind kicked out of my sails, due to depression.
And everyday
I hide away
and I'm not displaying
the fight that I'm saying.

I'm down inside and sink,
I'm more flipping down than you'd think.
Lost for love and lost for laughter,
facing upto my fears always ends in disaster
with anxiety,
so I'm always down and doubting me
a desert there's a drought in me
while rain downpours are drowning me
the logic's leaking out of me.
A mist hides the positivity
you find in creativity.

From an infant up to those last lines thinking I can't do s--t,
so life devoured me.
I need to shake that habit,
this talent aint transparent and I wont bow out cowardly.

I'm wasting my worth,
but have a thunderous thirst,
to rediscover some turf.
Watch me now and you'll witness,
as I drift with the surf,
and wet the earth,
of this desert,
as I sweat on the dirt.

You just heard now watch and observe!

Corner Lamp

Buzzing loudly,
Is that coming from me?
Dust and filth in my shade,
Slightly cracked, was this how I was made?
My light yellowed and dim,
The chances of me getting a new light bulb are slim.
But I've been here for so long,
Everywhere else feels wrong.

All Rise

As the occasion demands
All of us to rise an inch
Above our capability
To meet the challenges
In this technological world
Thrown at us, time and again
We are mortals hence
We should not fear the death
For it is just the change
Inevitable, undeniable
Till the time we leave
On this beautiful earth
Let us enjoy the good
And forbid the bad
Live in peace and harmony
Shower love and affection
Lend a helping hand
Treat others respectfully and
Depart this world gracefully
