Scary-Tom Dick and Harry

There once was a few chaps named Tom, Dick & Harry
Who for Hallows Eve were frightfully scary
For they were trying to undress
A woman you might guess
And scare the pants off of Mary.

So the silly spooks Tom, Dick & Harry
Who in their own way were ready to marry
So they each had a turn
Distilled with heartburn
To see who could pop Mary’s cherry.

Now who was the one to win over this cheeky chick
For they all tried really hard with a prickly trick
But Marry had the last laugh
When she gandered the scary staff
At the monster of Tom’s Harry ______.

...the last word is 'stick'...geez! people...come on now lol...all in good fun!

I'M Composing Myself For Christmas

I’M COMPOSING MYSELF FOR CHRISTMAS

I’ve done all my Christmas CHOPIN
And got everything on my LISZT.
All in all I’ve been frightfully BIZET
And the Christmas break will be BLISS.

I’m away to the VILLA-LOBOS,
In HAYDN until New Year’s Day,
With a girl in my arms who’s mad about BRAHMS
And the note on the HANDEL will say,

“For GOUNOD’S sake do not disturb us
Except for our SUPPE tray
With two glasses of sweet MARTINU
And a bowl of crème BOULEZ.”

The COLE PORTER’S built the fire up,
The TELLEMAN’S tuned in the set,
We’ll POULENC ourselves down on the sofa
And drop ORFF and try to forget.

Unwelcome Encore

Sometime last night, resting
inside of my home
I heard a voice singing(?!)
I was not alone

Not sure what to do
I just tried to ignore...
But he went on for hours
in unwelcome encore

Oh, that freaky falsetto
went on for so long
in a shrill, shrieking, trembling
annoying song

That at last, I had had it-
how dare he invade
my home with his frightfully
screechy serenade?

I searched every room
behind curtains, under beds
if I found that intruder
he'd wish he were dead!

Then I began to wonder
if he wasn't outside
for I'd looked everywhere
no more places to hide...

But, at length, he grew louder
I knew he was near
so cheekily taunting me
offending my ears

'Til at last, he popped out!
Cheeky chap in plain view
so I swung into action
and pursued him anew-

Round and round thru the house
how I chased and he fought
until spent and exhausted
he finally was caught!

I carried him to the door
and tossed him out, satisfied-
when (to my horror)
three more crickets hopped inside!

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Embargo

As the morning breeze springing sprightful fragrance
Stolen cleverly when he kissed the soft colourful petals
I woke up into a new fresh delightful daylight
To taste once more my honeyed life and my blossoming day.
From my flat laying lazily at level six
I was contented to watch the sunrise
He rose with all his fervor and might
And I wished him a happy day out.
The sighing wind called me to look down the streets
Where I saw people in masks treading hastily
Like ants rushing here and there in hurry
Never they wish nor smile to any other faces.
Stand alone in bunches they waited for their turn
In buses or cars which ever halted to pick
Like strange samurai soldiers flying to a war zone
Never they wish nor smile to any other faces.
Fearful glances and rushing little steps
Even the whisking dresses frightfully heard as sneezes
My heart cried and burned seeing those pity stances
Oh, dear little creatures, stop your playful bounces.
The mighty human race moving towards a comess
When like weird aliens, Covid trying to invade
But tomorrow we will rise from our burning ashes
To tame you and make you a story for our coming cradles.

Drifting darkly, memories swirling upward
snarled in spiders' frightfully webs spun, hoping

Second Hand Leather
Cocooned in love
The day was frightfully cold with snow softly falling. I was not prepared for this but
only for the warmth of sunshine. I stepped off the plane covered only in a sundress
and sandals. I began to shiver as I rushed for cover. My sister in laws would bring
comfort but little did I know just how much!
Welcomed with open arms I began to thaw and settle in a bit. This was going to be
a trip that would forever leave a print on my heart. We were going out for a special
dinner. You see it’s Christmas! She opened her closet and took out her very own
coat. This was the most beautiful coat I had ever seen.
This is when she handed it over to me and said, “Try it on darling –if it fits and you
like it –it’s yours”! I could not believe it as I knew it cost a lot of money and it was
just beyond beautiful. It was a Full Length Leather Coat with beautiful designs on it.
I had never had anything so wonderful given to me.
When I put it on it was magical. The fit was perfect and for me there was a
transformation. Somehow a feeling came over me like nothing ever before. I felt
special and could hardly wait to look in a mirror as I knew something changed inside
me forever at that moment. What was it, what had just happened?
I wore the coat and danced around in it when no one was watching like I was a
princess. I had this second hand coat for many years and always felt beautiful and
special when I put it on. It was the love that I was cocooned in. She cared enough
to give me her very own coat that she had bought for herself. I wore it until it was
tattered and someone said to me, “I would love that coat”. I took it off and passed
it on with the same love to cocoon that person.

As Lightning Strikes the Joshua Tree

When lightning strikes the Joshua tree
The air is frightfully clear.
The children quiet their
Jacks and Jump ropes
As the suburbia settles it's ears.
An ivy beneath a sycamore tree
Watching a fire with envy.

It wonders,
How on nature's rich, ripe earth
Is there a power
So quick to devour
The beauty and grace of a Joshua tree.
Why is it the branches crumble so
When Ivy's destruction is subtle and slow.
Why do fires spawn sputtered cries
When an English Ivy lays easy on the eyes.

A Mexican woman pours tears to the land.
She cries for the homeless
And weeps for the sand.
She mutters one word that no one will hear
She pleads that you feel it
Without dwindling fear.

When finally sleep comes
The children then stir
As they dream of a fire too bold to endure.
The woman will weep
As the fires grow.
She cries for the Joshua trees,
It's roots and it's leaves,
With a few tears for you,
And a couple for me.

The Universe's Dance

The Universe's Dance

Transitions of the obstruction of life
To the peacefulness of the night
Or a new beginning that a rising sun can bring without a fight
And in the late hour when everything becomes quiet

Nature has a way to transform
Within this turning of time
Every living spec upon this ever changing storm
To which we play this nursery rhyme

Maybe by a birds sweet sound
That brings a sweet remembrance to a season or day
And within a condensed shift in life a smile abounds
Upon a glowing face

The way the wind softly caresses your face
With a cool breeze
To wave off the heat of the day
With a whistling sound moving melodically free

How the drip drop of rain hitting a window pane can calm a tone
With its streams of life being poured from the heavens
To revive a world that struggles for life sitting on a disintegrating throne
And spring a newness into each creation with no discretion

An uncontrollable fire, breathing in the sky
Giving endlessly its lantern to lead us by each step
And warming our bodies when the cold starts to cry
Frightfully showing its characters of depth

Flickering candles floating in the atmosphere
Decorating a painted canvas of deep blue
Wishes casted off into their whispering ear
With silent hopes of dreams coming true

How amazing is a small and fragile seed
That can create a feast for Kings
And feed a family in need
And if planted again grows once more in spring

We so carelessly disregard the treasures that are all around
These viable precious gifts, nature holds out to us so unselfishly
Returning day after day, season after season unannounced
Unlocking valiant colors of wonders on towers of stems rising from the ground... so proudly

All these elements work in unity to perform a theatrical dance upon our stage
They are the silent voices within the earth
Imparting without antcipating anything to gain
Unstained by our constant denial, clasping to last place in our world of worth

Eyes of sadness our universe never reflects
For it hides its emotions within its design
And even the smallest spectator never detects
Its unfailing true love for all man kind

An Unexpected Visitor

A well spoken Martian came calling last week
He popped in the house for a chat
Though I wasn’t displeased
When he coughed and he sneezed
I was miffed when he swallowed my cat
He said “ I am frightfully sorry,
It isn’t like me to do that
You must think me a hog
For I much prefer dog
Or a rodent like rabbit or rat”

Free Cee the Book of Christ Is Way Overpriced

THE SECOND COMING OF AN IMMACULATE MIS-CONCEPTION

I hear preachers claim that Jesus walks by my side
Alas, Jesus has also lasciviously lied
I can’t see Jesus with my very own eyes
Yet with my eyes I read all of His lies

The Bible promises that Jesus always protects me
Until our Lord ultimately rejects me
I know the Son Of Man is supposed to be my Lord
But quite frankly by my Lord I am
       frightfully bored
I am married to Jesus, at least that’s what I read in His Holy Word
Yet now I seek the seclusion of divorce and the freedom of a flight blessed bird

Jesus made a mansion for those he sets free
Well Jesus would rather I live under a rotted and well-weathered tree

Jesus healed the sick and also fed the poor
As for me he has only a well slammed front door
Jesus took water and in His chalice wine was made
Only I was there and know He used a packet of grape Kool-Aid
And if you tell me in His time Kool-Aid wasn’t even known
I’ll tell you that Jesus created it for His use alone
Jesus could have taken his act on the road
But He wouldn’t have been so popular since David Copperfield can turn a tiger into a toad
Jesus took fishes and loaves and fed a whole mess of folks
Well you didn’t hear it from me but He also dispensed eggs with no yolks
And when Jesus created mankind he made trillions of very sick jokes

Yesterday I bought a Bible but it was way overpriced
and that's another grievance i have with Jesus Christ
They say He came for sinners and the righteous alike
Well my lesbian sister knows that your Mary Magdalene was a hard core dike!

Claire

Introspective, and charmingly coy,
her shyness enchanted my heart.
She wandered along in her own private world
quite unwilling to ration a part

of her intricate mind full of poems
and novels so frightfully arcane
they would challenge a D.Phil from Oxon.
their mangled motifs to explain.

Then I discovered her Achilles heel,
the way to steal one little kiss;
it was Rilke, he was the key to her soul,
disappointment to absolute bliss!

Premium Member Fancy Foot Factory

I've pushed and shoved my way
to the front of the field trip line
for I desperately desire to go
to the Fancy Foot Factory!

I have dreamed about this day for
like forever, so desirous am I to
trade in these freakishly funny looking feet
for smooth, svelte, sophisticated
small and oh so dainty feet
with the most admirable, manicured
toenails on the planet.

From the first moment I became
aware of my frightfully large
phalanges (I even recall playing
with my long toes as a kid)
and comparing them with other
normal kid's feet, I felt like
a female hobbit (fortunately, my
feet aren't hairy!)

They say the Fancy Foot Factory will guarantee
their foot replacement work, so I can feel
fancy and fashionable
for the right fee, of course!

One question, though. Do they come
with a lifetime supply of stylish sandals?

Eye-To-Eye

Eye-to-Eye

Tormented air hangs thick, blinking as the sun clears the clouds.
Bird unseen calls out, taking flight, running like I feel.
Friends are dead and dying, smoke drifts over the covered.
Looking down eye-to-eye, you in black me in green.
Another day for me to live - none for you.

Happy, sad, glad, wanting to cry, forgotten how.
Pull on a Winston, flick the ash and cough it back.
Blinded eyes by smoke and you pass, feeling lucky to be alive.
Kick the dirt, wonder why, learn to live another day.
Breathe easy, asking God for you and me.

Turn to look around, seeing the waste of war a cause unknown.
Hard at heart, seeing all and seeing nothing to care for.
Hear my heart, feel my chest rise and fall, but nothing to care for.
One last drag and hold till the pain rises and release.
Flick the butt of away one last look down not seeing you seeing not.

Smell the sweat, the oil, the residue of gunshot.
A cry far off, like an echo in the night – What I say! Who is there answer me!
Again the cry, I look round desperate to see – Where are you?
Frightful the cry calls out – frightfully I search, finding no one and nothing.
Like the dawn of a new day, the cry is from within and I answer – I am here! I am alive!
