Early Morning

flocks of birds fly in...
newly mown lawn wet with dew
ducklings waddle by
poor birds take flight frightfully...
then return to look for worms

Morning is one of my favorite times, so the title caught my eye and I am so glad I read it. I am sitting outside right now listening to the birds... Take care. Janet

This is a truly magnificent write my friend! My favorite line is a toss up between these two lines, "newly mown lawn wet with dew," and, "then return to look for worms" this first is just a natural setting that is so very visual and comforting, the second is quite humorous...I read your poem to my mom and she really laughed at the end. Though it may not have been meant for humor, it does have a humorous flair to it Carol! Please take no offense, as I mean none! I just love your poem! Great Work!
