Bereave Poems | Examples

Letters, Lines

Lines in lightning carved in stone?
Geoglyph, take form.
Mile behind the melee zone?
Keep the soldiers warm.

Bright beside the boreal pole?
Buildings in glass, shine.
Heaven and Hell, thy control!
Doom and Death, we dine!

Trickle, time? Riddle or rhyme?
Boxes, sheath the mime.
Dynamite, done on a dime?
Skidding in the slime...

Forlorn and forgotten?
Adventure, dare to seek?
Render red run rotten?
Ergo, the boneyard creak.

Sleek as tigers in the grass?
Dare not here to tread.
Linen round the looking-glass?
City of the dead!

Chlorophyll, do ye streaks leave?
Deceased child, bereave?
Gold, when absent, do they grieve?
Hone before you heave.

Believe what you want, scion.
Miracles abound.
Chess master, sac queen and pawn!
Flicker til you're found.

Round the vizier's chandelier?
Diamonds, sparkle grim.
Dinnertime! What do ye fear?
Crater, cone to rim...

The Debtor

To all who are among us
I bid you all farewell
as the lid press down the eye
another story tell.

Drift me to a meadow
at peace the ever last
where all the times of sorrow
rest only in the past.

Judge me by mistake,
for who does wear the crown?
Win or lose the game
the dice have rolled me down.

As the end is final
and all begins anew.
Whether inch or mile,
love travels back to you.

Adieu to those who loved me.
Why must this slip bereave?
This part of what was lent me,
is all I have to leave.

When

When again will I find solace
My cup of tea, my muse, my merry weather
In the very things that now bereave
And leave me a hollowed husk?

A vacant snail shell, a mockingbird feather
A painted rock that no one wants
And songs about September
In the colorless dusk.

Premium Member Terra Incognita

I heard of lands both far and near
where wealth beyond tale can conceive.
With rivers deep and mountains sheer
for the brave to challenge and reave.
I heard of them and I believe
this call that moves me to explore.
I should follow my heart and weave
the path where none has gone before.

Through legends spread by foe and peer,
my head and heart do wish me leave
the comforts of my home so dear
to seek the thrills that I perceive.
The first to achieve and retrieve
power and fame I can’t ignore,
the tug on the conqueror’s sleeve,
the path where none has gone before.

I’m confident in what I hear,
stand ready with sword, shield, and greave.
No time for mortal dread nor tear.
No time to cause angst or aggrieve
the loss of friend or kin bereave.
I sail to explore a new shore
and swear on death I will not leave
the path where none has gone before.

I seek your audience and ear
to beg, my dear Prince; I implore
your blessing, funds, and ships to steer
the path where none has gone before.

Your Call

The morning brings a moment
frozen in time. Your heart is still within thee.
I can count a dozen one less or one more
of angels that protect and surround me.
Given the time to ponder and weigh the atoms
that bind me together. I’m left to wonder the
Marvels escape and I’m in for cold stormy
weather. As for the questions that bereave and
lament, seldom do answers come calling. My
situation has me high on the fence, in a
moment I’m hopelessly falling. Gone are the days
we smiled to trick people into thinking we’re
winning. I’ve got a mind and the matter is
thick, as for good times they’re now just
beginning.

Bare Grudge and Not Fudge Or Budge

will not give a budge
she always will bare a grudge
never liked my fudge

a slap in my face
no freedom or any trace
was their style and grace

Combat at the Capitol

sure to transpire
Trump liked being a liar
he does desire

how can we forget
things happened we will regret
standard start to set

made analogy
regarding psychology
need an apology

saw Trump swing in swamp
which is where he liked to romp
and do Bristol Stomp

deal consummating
we must be vaccinating
so should stop waiting

began to bereave
after that did always grieve
when loved one would leave

on long trail have trod
when I finally found God
near beach on Cape Cod

on the way to grave
for me vaccination save
then I will behave

Empty

One step,
A singular tread,
And the very impression is
That I have aught need for
Or even should feel desire
For anything.

But no one,
Not even those closest to it,
Can comprehend
An inverted wish
Against these expectations.

The yearning for a taste
Reach deep down,
Ever so deeply
Inside these surging, waisted,
Intuitive lusts
For one whom nobody knows
Save their existence.

Empty Promises

Empty promises..
You smothered me in lies..
Then you said your goodbyes..
A con in disguise you were..
As you lured me in your web of treachery..

You played a fools game..
As I drowned in your chess pool of madness..
Soaked to the skin in your lying web..
Hurt and betrayal join hands as one..

Empty promises made..
I do declare..
that I lay it to rest..

I have been deceived..
Now it's time to bereave and let go..

Empty promises ..
Goodbye to all the pain..
As I remain sane..
I join hands and remove the pain..

Premium Member Death Is Hereditary

An amazing revelation that's hard to believe
Death happens daily, worldwide people grieve
It's actually hereditary
Can't escape being buried
Holy crap! Millions of us people bereave

Drift

She can't lie over that time behind mean,
From the bottom of life not planned to be lived,
It was someone else that she see,
But not in the state to grief,
In a sharp turn, things changed suddenly,
It felt as if everything was a bereave,
Tried all to get everything rightly,

She knew she was backsliding,
She knew she was not of herself,
Yeah, maybe you would be a talkative to that,
Deep within her ears, voices were directing her steps,
Not suitable to be at the bank of a deadly river,
The appearance of the river stole her instinct with a mutual urge of a diva,

Frustratingly, series of pain were developed in her neck,
No one knew where she fell as a victimized bird,
Even though one man concernedly said to her,
"Everyone is now giving a complain about you,
And I suggest you come back to your formal self",
All that he said was accepted to be a fallacy,
The problem was just a result of she being spiritually unstudious of late,

It wasn't easy for her to be repositioned,
Yet,she had everything needed to pass life examination,
Later realisation held her to revive by surprise,
And now,not even a child can deny the fact that she's alright.

Premium Member Rainbow Aura

Flames emanate everywhere
heat can be felt across the town
Every fire in sight
glows a different tint
red roars
blues bereave
turquoise turns blue
to their shade
yellow radiate their aura in the form of yowl
purple flare prominence
white glimmers grace and wings
black emits mystery
and among the other million blazes
denizens of the rainbow city
burn with diversity
in their souls

Glimpses of Heaven

I saw the world through
your eyes, its follies, and surprises,
I felt the pulse of time with you,
And we saw earthly changes.

What I can't see with my eyes
Visions reach into my dreams,
I believe when my heart cries,
I won’t stop dreaming dreams.

Until I reach heaven’s bright shore
I see nothing here of lasting worth,
Evil has driven away the pure,
Existence becomes greed and mirth.

On earth, I am still walking tall,
and thinking deep within,
of the times, I hear your voice call,
for a new journey to begin.

Listening to a holy voice pleading
From a far distance,
We started at once listening,
To receive unmerited grace.

Only death will take us apart,
When breath starts leaving
The petals to bloom bright,
bereave roses, in the garden.

I considered the sky before rain
Stars gathering below,
clouds flying with the glimpse of heaven,
The realms surrounded with a halo.

See the beauty of sun and moon,
in everything, give thanks,
In the light and in the gloom,
I glimpse heaven in the distant.

God’s presence is the brightest light,
of revelation, that I see in your eyes
on a clear moonshine night
the sky is full of surprise.

Sheltered Dreams

Babies crying, mothers sighing, old men
In remnates of suits discussing the fate of
The world as they share a pint of memories.

TV blaring, fighters glaring at
Each other waiting for eternity
To move toward them.

Wino breath and preachers death
Knell for those in fear of
Soulless bodies and redemption.

Days are gone, so this throng
Roost in this place built with
Uncaring hands and minds.

Some will leave, some will bereave
But all will have
Sheltered dreams.

So Them Again

Darn I can't let go.
My hands shiver
Legs quiver
Can't help but flaunt my neck for show
Darn I can't let them go.

Thrilled me some more.
Kissing my lips
While morning dips
No hands touched like this before
He thrilled me some more.

Grabbed my hair too tight
I clawed his back
He showed his knack
I screamed in pure delight
He grabbed my hair too tight.

Came a man of coal
I looked in his eyes
Read all his lies
But I fell for the stories he told
Then came the man of coal.

Choked me for fun
He gave me some scars
I knew it was farce
But I turned and tried to run
He choked me some more for fun.

Darn I can't let go.
The men they leave
No time to bereave
The stupid world needs to know
I let them go ages ago.

Heartache

Maples shed their trembling leaves,
the scorch of daylight dies and evening drips
in pools of reddish hue as I bereave the absence
of my heart's desire with saddened, love-lorn lips.

Happiness, a blessing never to be felt again,
slipping from my memory, as distant as the moon;
'neath cloudless skies I roam for miles to look for rain
in search of solace, for my spirit's sorely hewn.

Her gleaming beauty doth illuminate the night,
sets flares to shame, outshines the blushing rose.
I'd trade my soul and halt the oceans in their flight
if only she'd forgive me, put an end to all my woes.
