I heard of lands both far and near where wealth beyond tale can conceive. With rivers deep and mountains sheer for the brave to challenge and reave. I heard of them and I believe this call that moves me to explore. I should follow my heart and weave the path where none has gone before. Through legends spread by foe and peer, my head and heart do wish me leave the comforts of my home so dear to seek the thrills that I perceive. The first to achieve and retrieve power and fame I can’t ignore, the tug on the conqueror’s sleeve, the path where none has gone before. I’m confident in what I hear, stand ready with sword, shield, and greave. No time for mortal dread nor tear. No time to cause angst or aggrieve the loss of friend or kin bereave. I sail to explore a new shore and swear on death I will not leave the path where none has gone before. I seek your audience and ear to beg, my dear Prince; I implore your blessing, funds, and ships to steer the path where none has gone before.

Setting out into lands unknown is always exciting to one with an adventurous spirit, though it may involve risks of many sorts. This is a powerful poem expressing great valor and courage....! Congratulations, dear Linda.

interesting subject and at the heart of what drove humans out of every security...we have to know about that greener grass just over the horizon...no matter the cost....excellent job

I, too, wonder at the willingness of society to seize upon the past and chip the foundation to cause it to crumble. Is hindsight really so clear? Or, as you say, they are just following a narrative they know nothing about. Atrocities throughout the world occur every day that many are still unaware. The naivete is staggering.

i for one, on a somewhat different subject, am at a loss over the critique of Columbus....evidently, the man was no saint, but to accuse him of all the crimes is absolutely absurd and shows a huge problem when people follow a narrative with absolutely no knowledge of the subject. slavery, child sacrifice, territorial wars, rape. murder, and i can name more all existed thousands of years before Columbus...the Inca and Aztecs were brought down by tribes assisting the Spanish...they don't teach history in colleges, just a narrative is my assumption. sad because when i confront they disappear

What a adventurer I am - I would have been the first to raise my hand to go with this guy! LOL I have a wandering and wondering heart Timothy. Yes, I'd leave all security to see that greener grass. I appreciate your recent visits and time to comment. Thank you, Linda
