Premium MemberBecause They Be Quiet

When you are in a ship in the sea,
You can see God's wonders in the deep,
For He commands and raises the storm,
which lifts the waves in its windy sweep,

The ship is tossed as high as the sky,
and falls low to the depths of the sea,
The sailors, not knowing what to do,
reel to and fro like a drunk tipsy,

Then they cry to the Lord in distress,
and He brings them out of their troubles,
He makes the storm a calm, waves are still,
When the waters quiet, joy bubbles,

He brings them to their desired haven,
In the silent stillness, men praise Him
for His goodness, for His wondrous works,
for He saved them from turbulence grim,

"Then they're glad because they be quiet"
What a miracle they have witnessed!
The Lord of the heavens and the seas
has stretched forth His hand and we are blessed!

Premium MemberBe Quiet As Water

Hold still and be quiet as water while you search for thoughts inside
shine like the stars sparkle like the sun but in this world, be bonafide

Life is clamorous and its message very often is loud and in your face
hold still and be quiet as water, join the flows of it's liquid Grace

Love quite often does not make a sound so live in the hour of its gift
hold still and be quiet as water, enjoy the journey and the lift;

Justice is a silent partner to an honest life join the noiseless force
hold still and be as quiet as water, live diligently without remorse

Courage can be found in altruistic words other times in silence
hold still and be quiet like water, if the pain needs guidance?

know that water can be fluid, yielding in a world of solid matter
hold still and be quiet like water when in doubt, take the latter

be as quiet as water.

Hush and Be Quiet

Hush and be quiet.

There is no importance to your words,
Your voice echoes in the dimly lit room.
The empty room.
No one cares to listen.

Hush and be quiet.

You deserve no sympathy.
They’ll drown you with your voice,
“It’s your fault.”
No one wants to listen.

I want to scream.
Take my voice back from its coffin.
The silence is what is making me break.
It roots itself in my chest and expands,
Expands until the pain is agonizing.

Hush and be quiet.

What are the consequences?
Will they understand?
Do they have to?

Hush and be quiet.

I am a kettle coming to a boil.
I have no obligation,
But I have the right.
I have the right to be heard.

Hush and stay quiet!

I have a voice that cannot be suppressed,
One that will not be repressed,
Not by you and not by me.

“We do not want to hear.
This is not important.
You are not important.”

You do not get to take,
Nor can you dictate.
My voice is my own.
I have the ability to grow.

"I said no.”

Be Quiet

Take time out and
Be quiet, listen to
Your inner self
Tune the noise of
Everyday life out and
Just listen to the voice
It will help you to
Solve any problem

Premium MemberBe Quiet Your Ideas Are Strange

Be us they said. Stop the dancing.
Stop whirling, you look stupid.
Be normal they said. And they thought
They had done you a favor.

Be quiet they told you. Your ideas are strange.
If people think you are weird, they will shun you.
You were little. Confused. Wondering about it.
But you were too afraid of them to shine yourself anyway.

Good boy! Good girl! They said, treating your new
Unknown, unhappy, sad self as if you had accomplished something
When in fact, your creativity was being squelched as rapidly
As the bird inside who was trying desperately to keep your
Happiness alive in spite of them.

Stop singing so loudly they told you. It is embarrassing.
You were shamed, so you stopped singing.
Sunday School teacher hissed as you stumbled over
The Old Testament; terrific way to get you to stop reading forever.

They squelched you the best they could, smashing you into them.
At night you could live your truth, fly the cosmos, and so you did.
Keeping your art, your music, your poetry, and your voice inside.
Some of you escaped them, but unfortunately, not all.

Hush, Be Quiet

Hush, be quiet you old familiar voice of negativity.
The one that is full of doubt, fault finding and self
     sabatoge.
There is no mercy, no kindness or love in you, only
     dislike and distrust.
Complete silence of the mind is much better than your noise.
But sometimes the future unknown, is more fearful
   than the known misery.
However just when the loud voice of poison vents
    to almost drown out any future hope, it happens.
A flicker of light, from small twigs of long ago
   embers restores memories of a different voice.
A voice not beat up by accounts of life's failures,
  loses, disappointments  and deaths.
It holds out tender love, forgiveness and a balanced
   reality in learning to express a new voice.
This voice will nurtue the one carrying it and
   those it meets on the journey of life .

Shush...DIDN'T I TELL YAWL TA BE QUIET

Be quiet, hush now;
Says the Librarian;
Mama says “Shush! Do you want to wake everyone?”
Toddler mocks mama shushes every one else;
What's the rush;
Grandma says you better hush;
Utterance of “shush” the thumps were followed by;
More hushes and shushes and yawl better B quiet from the aunts';
Gits a switch from out the yard;
Now ya hear a soft swishing or rustling sound;
Shush;
Gittin yo buttocks whipped;
What ya rush;
And you bet not cry;
Been tellin ya to be quiet so now
Shush;
SHo?oSH, SH?SH!

Premium MemberPlease Be Quiet:

Please be quiet my dearest one,
for let our hearts speak true,
on this night of deepest passion,
let me embrace and hold you.

You are the one who keeps me alive,
please be here for me tonight,
I shall be yours and yours alone,
now come close and hold me tight.

Hush my dear don't speak one word,
for there is no need to communicate,
open your arms and welcome me in,
why must we wait or hesitate?

When all we need is each other right now,
So let us live this moment as the last,
And think not of our cares, only of love,
Together as one creating our future's past.

Peace Be Quiet

Please be quiet.
You incessantly talk to hide.
Your meaning is like ocean surf.
Constantly changing as the tide.
I don't care what you say,
because you say nothing of you.
Trying so hard to impress.
Things you know, things you can do.
These things mean nothing to me.
They hold absolute zero value.
Vocalize the man you are.
Tell me how you see the world.
Dreams, aspirations, hurts, desire;
relate how your life has unfurled.
I sit here trying to grow.
I read. I listen. I think.  I ponder.
Rudely, you interrupt with noise,
spewing forth meaningless fodder.
How exhausting it must be.
Constant toil to measure your cup.
Now, please leave me in peace.
Hell, leave me in ruin. Just, shut up.

Be quiet

Betrayal was so evident
in your eyes,
Once shimmered bright
in my passion,
Words could not say
so I chose to be quiet !

Waves that once giggled
and created melody,
Humming of the bees
flutter of butterflies,
Everything stood still,
I chose to be quiet !

Followed you everywhere
with my heartbeats,
That now no longer beat,
Emotions that swayed
to the tune of love,
Flowed and flooded
now have dried !

Burning desires
reduced to ashes,
No smoke seen
not a cry,
Could you perceive
my cravings in angst,
and assure me,
A quantum of trust
Why I chose to be quiet ?
