Uncle is extremely meticulous
At arrangement of dishes, he’s cautious
From smallest to biggest
Glasses and all the rest
If order of wares fails, he whines like ewes.
With a few exceptions
across the land
the voice is the face
of any rock 'n' roll band
without Janis Joplin
who remembers
Big Brother and the Holding Company
and the names of its members
for no matter the genre
when listening to a song
it's not the instrumentalists
but the singer you focus on
and today when songwriting contests are judged
it's human nature to hear that on which songs are hung
(arrangement instrumentation performance production)
and not hear the lyric or melody being sung
I met a beautiful song today
The melody was outstanding
The lyrics were commanding
I was compelled to pay attention
I was drawn to this musical connection
So that I began to hum
I encountered an awesome rendition
The arrangement was unbelievable
The composition was unachievable
Except by an angel’s finger
Except by a moment that lingered
So that my feet were carried along
Today I was kissed by the music
The harmony was distracting
The chords were exacting
I was unable to be restrained
My heart has forever changed
My world was altered by a song
I live in this house next to the crick
that I built up on some stilts
and my hounds sleep up under it
When it gets so hot you wilts
Yeah they sleep all day under the porch
And we hunt coons at night by a cattail torch
And we really love our life
When the spring rains followed the snow melt
that fell really heavy up north
I load the boys into the boat
And we all sallies forth
To hunt for the hogs that too are displaced
with water all around
I guarantee If one they see
Them dogs will start to sound
We always manage to get one or two
As I shoot from the stern of the boat
and you ain't tasted nothin finer
than the newly weaned flesh of a shoat
We really love our life,We really love our life
At the house we arrive and all thats alive I sweep
off of the porch thats come seaking higher ground
I bust out a jug and cut me a rug
With no-one to watch but my hounds
We eat high on the hog till we're stuffed like ticks
Really love our house in the sticks
Yeah we really love our life ,we really love it
Don't we boys ?

but the girls sounded their dissent.
"Truly fair, reasoned we dated
yet some proof's appreciated,
so go on guys and indulge us,
and both will place as best rated."
First and then the other -- no fuss.
Guys smile at girl's thumbs-up, A+.
"Oh my gosh, where are the tampons!"
"Get some, there's nothing to discuss!"
"We'll be back!" "Who picked this place -- moms?"
They yelled, "Got some!" Piercing caroms
after they agreed to relish
the rest of the night at the proms!

The cemetery where my mother lies is overgrown
While my father lies peacefully in perpetual care,
Considering how he treated her when she was alive
It seems this burial arrangement is grossly unfair.
His second wife arranged for him an elaborate wake
And boxed his remains in the most elaborate style,
Then promptly left the state where he was interred
To walk with another man blissfully down the aisle.
I suppose it is fair, indeed, that my father lies alone,
Far from the place where my dear mother is interred
Among her ancestors, relatives of many generations,
For it was clear that only for himself my father cared.
I have wondered if they might meet in the far beyond
Somewhere across the great divide of the hereafter
Having an opportunity to speak of their lives together,
About the hundreds of times he blithely shafted her.

Hot Pot hold discards punctuality
Daddy's dinner waits for her arrival
Wave eruptions push sensuality
Faithful fund chef clings to their survival
Amazed, restrained, Romeo of Ocean
Baby drips sweet dedication's poison
Pork concoction mixes magic potion
Car salesman harsh crumbles in kiss cloy zone
Hands on her shoulders, hovering near tears
Pledging, is it genuine, game so fresh
Marriage and love lasting infinite years
Kitchen affection belies arrangement
Seven hour pork stew, beach stretch surfers viewed
Swallowed soft as his heart of servitude

Where there is a will, there is a way,
While the sun shines, let’s make hay.
When belly becomes a pot,
Troubles increase a lot.
Strike the iron when it is hot,
Just behave like an iron wrought.
Neither a borrower nor a lender be,
For it loses both friend and money.
