North Of Boston
Today
I decided
not to rhyme
The words
in volleys
poorly formed
Predicates
outcast
covers smashed
Their accents
bouncing
meanings lost
Today
I decided
not to rhyme
Appeasing
some
beyond the fence
Connections
broken
phrases served
Playing tennis
without
— a net

Watching the sunset so calming
Admiring the shadows all climbing
Listening to my appeasing whispering
Revisiting spiritual moments of blessing

Why Won't She Please Me

‘the way I please you’ ...

an easy way out is appeasing

Appeasing a Shark
How do you appease a shark?
How do you make him want to leave you alone?
How do you satisfy his sweet tooth
Without giving him blood?
We brainstormed the problem
Made delicacies out of crackers and cheese
Gave him more food than any of us ever eat for lunch
He thanked us the way any shark would
By eating us up quickly, not allowing us to suffer long

Before the Night-ITQ
Before the day turned into night
A nascent sun, spun brilliant light.
A vast kaleidoscope alight
Nature's tinted hues soothing sight.
Romance true nature, appeasing
Soul with its eyes and voice, pleasing
True aphrodisiac teasing
Even for a moment squeezing.
Then, slowly drawing a deep breath,
Parting footprints the daytime hath
Said, its turquoise depth parting death.
Mourn the day, single shibboleth.
Rhythm poetics feel to begin,
Fervor whisper snore from within.

Just A Little Absurd
Spending our time
in life’s wondrous rut
hoarding the good times
like a squirrel his nut
hope sagely nourished
by ideas not yet born
the endless dilemma
of the truly forlorn
the heartbreak and anguish
of unlived dreams
deeply buried
in our unleashed screams
spontaneous passion
that dies in a flash
selling our soul
to that demon cold cash
doing something good
every now and again
appeasing and nourishing
our innermost Zen
the yin and the yang
the up and the down
sometimes a prince
and sometimes a clown
rolled up together
and melded as one
when it’s finally all over
and we’re calling it done
the upshot of it all, the nub, the rub
the truly last word
will we look in the mirror and say to ourselves
“It has really all been just a little absurd”

Insight
“All the world's knowledge is now at our fingertips. But the same technology is robbing us of interpersonal relationships and deeper insights.” - By Poet
I stretched my cupped hands,
To hold the manna dropped from above.
Through the gap between my fingers,
Much of it leaked away.
I deeply regretted my clumsiness,
For wasting what I could have saved,
As every drop of it being so precious.
But soon I got over my remorse,
As, I saw a dog licking it up,
Appeasing its gnawing hunger.
Thought of the poor Biblical Lazarus.
Had Dives been extra careful,
Not to drop even a crumb of bread
He would have died of starvation!
As this thought came to me,
A new insight dawned on me.
Letting go off was now easier.
Slowly knew, there was greater pleasure,
In sharing than in hoarding!

Wisdom and Success
Various options would be pursued.
Along paths to consciousness and progress.
There is an avid need to expand our horizons.
To achieve absolute excellence.
Appeasing one's spirit is a difficult task.
While pursuing the crowning fulfillment.
The pinnacle of excellence that we never reach.
Mankind would do well to recall its wisdom.
Taken with no belief at all, a deep sigh of relief.
Having its own independent mentality.
If the spirit can be brought to consciousness.
And learn to recognize the quirky appeal of flaws.
It would be pointless to strain to earn a Life flawless.
Attempting to find meaning in the lack of a notion.
Spirits devoid of awe would weaken.
There must always be a fire in one's veins.

Huh, Miss
She slipped from among us
in search of good hummus,
like a whispery breeze
at the scent of chickpeas;
escapes for tahini
rivalled old Houdini.
Her nose for good cumin
was simply inhuman,
her longings, appeasing
on lemony squeezings.
She never found fault
with a good pink rock salt,
and oft was caught splurging
on fine extra virgin.
But she went on a bender,
took a shine to a blender,
sliced her tongue on that trough,
and her hum is still off…

Delightful
pie
delightful, delectable
appealing, appetizing, appeasing
sweetness, sugariness, acidity, acerbity
retching, regorging, regurgitating
brackish, brinish
fly
NB: This is purely my own reaction to eating flies. I understand it’s quite the delicacy to some. To each his own ... :)

Dyslexia Tested
Maybe just maybe I am and always
have been an
Undiagnosed
Apoplectically archetypal orthodox
Dislexic
Who unfortunately tried to spell
it out to anyone willing to listen
But obviously my words came out
all mixed up and wrong
So I never made any sense whether
that was or be
Whether scribbled down profusely and
indiscriminately on paper
Or spoken word of mouth thinking
other's could follow my train of thought
Which I perceived to be a well thought
out intelligent engaging conversation
Only to find out later people were only
merely placating and appeasing me
Because the one thing and defining characteristic I did have going for
me and on my side
Was that I what and while I lacked
in certain regards and area's
I somehow made up for in charisma
and sense of humor which manifested
in the guise of likeability
And the reason I used to get away
with things I never should have been
able to
But hey if they wanted to assume and
presume that of me
And they themselves opened up that
avenue of excuse for me to abuse
Then why on on wouldn't I take full
advantage and prey upon it

Dying Declaration
Poverty that made my spirit blow
There, from no one to borrow
Looking for something to swallow
But, nothing to eat even a willow
Left the house to implore
Stretching my hand being on the floor
Minute replaced seconds; seconds, replaced hours;
Yet, no one ready with a Godly valor
People passing by, a young after elderly
Witnessing, me beseeching for life dearly
No one cared even for a little charity
Manifesting cruelty defying humanity
Appeasing myself with a lullaby
Wishing an angel to come by
Wish to come true, an angel came by
But; it was for my final good bye!

A New Beginning
Morning thoughts
Kiss my naked heart
Like whispering dreams
Alive, passionate, delighting
In the music of dawn, the song
Of light, joy, promise… dawn
In the silence,
Reflections of peace
Calming my spirit, appeasing
Each doubt, each dark thought
With light that breathes laughter
Through the moon, over the stars
As the sunlight lifts its veil
Erasing them from the skies
Replacing them with its easy glow
On the hills,
Just beyond the forest
Where pines and oaks thrive
Lifting heavy branches to the horizon
Leaves dancing like they’re guided
By the sign of the lemony sun,
Breaking through the woods, mesmerizing
Jubilant and alive, like a butterfly
Singing its goodbye to the petals of a rose
Morning thoughts
Embrace my quiet dreams
With a hope that is tantalizing
Drifting in and out of peace
Pouring out joy through the pores
Of those who listen to the gentle wisdom
Found on prayers to the One who gives us
The promise of each dawn, the new beginning

Eating Popcorn and Not Satisfied
In it not much of a meal,
A half dozen not a big deal,
My regular canteen I still approach
And for trying the stuff self reproach;
At the canteen appeasing A Fooled Tank
And having God to truly thank …
One is not to popcorn munch,
While targeting a classic lunch:
The Thinnest Starch for playful crunch;
Eaters don’t see much of the bunch …
To God, I’m faintly grateful,
After a Popcorn and that’s unfaithful!
Of the Non-Given Reverence mindful
But of My Cleansing not needful …
It shouldn’t often be a Mortal’s Homage
And, I trust, God wouldn’t a belly damage.

Compose
Like a tender kiss, breathless as a whisper, his light kindles dreams, shadows my mind with serenity, as I compose affection that grows, glows and flows through my soul – by poet
Breathing hope that fades into smiles
His song drifts through my worst trials
Stirring the muse with hues of grace
Giving the heart a light embrace
He lifts all my fears, appeasing
Shining into souls, so pleasing
Gifting my mind with perfect peace
Pouring out love that will not cease
Dancing through my heart, a prayer
Ridding my thoughts of doubt, despair
Gentling my life, reflecting love
Striking fires kindled from above
Rich, vibrant raptures pierce the heart
Comforting souls with a fresh start
His compassion glows with a blaze
Sparked by the One who will amaze!
