as Kyle was walking down the aisle
he tasted disgusting salty green bile
looked up and saw a weird smile on Lyle
Feeling vile, he started to dial.
His bride Wilhemina was dressed in style.
she outclassed him by a city mile
he ran, jumping a massive wood pile
did not return for quite a while
in the meantime, the groomsman named Lyle
wooed Wilhemina in glorious courting style
they picked out dishes and kitchen floor tile
forever a bachelor remained old lonely Kyle
Bread hit them like a ton of bricks.
Bread can make one very sick.
Man minding his own business,
Quickly became a mayhem witness.
The teenage four, like the Joker’s core,
destroying aisles in the grocery store.
On a hot eve, they hit my man with a fighting bag.
It’s all a game…received more than a finger wag.
Like all good criminals they forgot camera’s rolling.
For act-out job, the manager - police would be calling.
But not until the chase and the chastening from victim.
Wrong guy - hoodlums shouldn’t have picked on him.
DINNER’S A CHORE
Dinner, my turn, nothing in the fridge
Off to market, be gone a smidge
Car won’t start, battery’s dead
Jump it, full steam ahead
Old gossips in the aisle, won’t move aside
‘Scuse me’ I croon, but they get snide
Right back I get crass
Suggest they kiss my ass
daughter's teardrop
on father's wrist
fleeting storm surge
There’s a robot
At the super market
It follows me
I guess I look clumsy
Its life consists of
Annoying me
By making a beeping noise
Whenever I block its progress
One day I told it
That its fly was open
Its response…
CLEAN UP ON AISLE SEVEN
Jenny realised on her big day
Walking down the aisle
She was still in love with Ray
It was a hot day in May
The Groom was heard to say
The best man didn’t hear a thing
He just kept touching the ring
The Priest was a worldly Joe
But even he didn’t know
The events to take place
When the bride began to slow
The Groom turned to see
His wife to be
Rose-coloured eyes
Just blinded the disguise
The Priest looked at the best man
Guilt written in bold
He had this awful feeling
How this was going to unfold
The bride stopped and turned around
Headed for the door
Never glancing back
This time she was sure
Ray touched the ring for the final time
Passing it to the Groom
Walking up the aisle
Totally over the moon.
The Groom was in total shock
The Priest stood bemused
The best man's girlfriend
Realised she had been used.
They met outside
Love was in the air
Or would have been
Had the girlfriend not shot the pair.
Through my little fingers I'd peek
When I was a kid I would freak
Watching wicked witch melt
Frightful fear I then felt
That I wouldn't bathe for a week!
when both sides of aisle
caused problems and would defile
will then been on trial
give me your aorta ~ and in exchange i will give you a nice pulse
said the kidney bean to a cabbage heart ~ as it openly convulsed
but the black eyed peas protested violently ~ acting with impulse
of course i needed a leek pretty bad ~ and suddenly felt repulsed
Fluorescent lights hummed
a monotone drone,
In the background,
the resonant chimes and dings
of the cash register sing.
A lone moth fluttered
past my empty dome
Light, purposeless,
similar to myself.
Glassy eyes wandered back,
staring deep into the infinite
assembly line I could not help
but lose myself in.
Neon nectars beckoned me
like a sugary siren,
I was a drunken sailor
to their decadent call.
I lost and found myself,
aisle after aisle
Until a warmth, a glow,
near divine, graced me.
A fresh soft pretzel
beckoned me to my very soul,
Golden yeast skin
cheddar cheese veins,
The savior I needed
to feel at ease again.
Wedding bells are ringing,
Love floating in the air.
Hearts forever singing,
All joy and no despair.
The Bride in satin lace,
Looking like a Queen.
The Groom with pensive face,
So nervous at the scene.
The Father escorts Bride,
Walking down the aisle.
He's bursting out with pride,
But wears a casual smile.
Standing face to face,
The wedding vows are read.
No dry eye in the place,
After everything is said.
He takes the wedding band,
And slips it on her finger.
Now standing hand in hand,
Their kiss will gently linger.
The wedding day is through,
In bright or stormy weather.
With one soul born from two,
A cherished life together.
valentines shopper, there is a blue light special in Aisle Three
Gloria had no idea what this announcement could be.
but she raced to three to see toilet paper on sale for $1.95.
she tossed in two packages on top of her kitty cat Clive.
valentines shopper, there is a blue light special in Aisle Four
Gloria spun her cart and hurried to the aisle next door.
the special was dog food, which you could buy for a dollar off.
we don’t need it! We don't have a dog! Clive said with a scoff.
the next blue light special was in aisle twenty-three that day.
Clive was forbidding his mistress from heading that way.
they came home dissatisfied, with unusable stuff in their cart.
Clive said “Buying a bunch of junk we don’t need is your art.”
reflecting what ceases
a season from fully blooming.
Spring ‘21 was set to boost,
but mom died and I couldn’t
take those walks, except
down the aisle of shocks.
Autumn ‘22 brings covid
not a rousing stroll, indoors.
I have invited Autumn in.
H o p e - a door.

You severed me for your paramour,
My first love, you are mon amour,
Doxy of love surround your heart,
Betrayed in the lanes of my sweeheart,
Sweeping the hectic lanes,
Sleeping in the lonely fanes,
I feel solaced in this heavy rain,
Why is this pity a condolement of pain?
Sire of our children, am a lone parent...
Squire's anguish on your treachery is apparent...
Finding love in your absence,
I am in awe of his presence...
You rush to the aisle in clamour,
Heart cracked, I am married to your paramour.
