trains, planes, and automobiles
trapped and flash-frozen emplace 

Christmas lights still bright
If one ventured through the night

arrives the entry check point white linen under issued desert garb

I, ashamed.
On my last trick
Feeling heartsick –
To conquer is selfish but brave.

Springtime pollen on zephyrs ride
It causes chills and makes me heave.
The torment caused I cannot hide
And from inside I dare not leave.

It makes eyes water and head to hurt
I wheeze, hark and frequently sneeze.
Then grab my inhaler for a quick squirt
There’s no enjoying a springtime breeze.

Sheep.
Magpie.
Mule deer.
Mustang, colt, mustang...upon the ridge.

Eagle's nest, bald.
Oreo cows, in far field.
Running baby cows.
Sheep.

Felled branch...100 mph winds.
Controlled burn, left quiet;
but not, as it turned out,
without embers enough
to catch to flames
and race up the Sierra,
down the Nevada.

and humble a hundred million dollar
homes.

No cascades here,
only browns blotting
the green and white shoulders
sitting quietly above the
sopping Spring flats.
