45 Years 2011

Life taxes my thoughts
My memory strains
to recall and record my days
As time passes on what I have done
The tides of time drift away
To repeat the process
But my memory holds firm
on my love for you
And it strengthens each day
As I slowly age
The passion of life
and love are united
To wait for another day

I am always amazed to see how true love strengthens over the years. Beautiful poetry, Ralph! (Sorry you could relate to the caregiver poem Paul and I wrote. You must have a lot on your plate, and still you find time to write such lovely poetry. Hugs, Carolyn
