When the holidays come, whether you celebrate Christmas or any other, it is a good time for reflection and seeing the direction the year to follow may bring.
We spread joy, we laugh, we love, we sing. And it is at this time we start remembering the past, a week, a month, a year can change who we are and how we feel. This site is full of change, people come and go, words get sorted, sifted, savored then silenced.
Time is lost and found, but no matter what, this site is around.
It maybe a face you have never seen before knocking on your poetry door, leaving a little piece of themselves behind, or it might be a near dear friend letting you know they are fine.
Ghosts of poems past get revisted and you go back in time to when you wrote it, why you wrote it, and how much you have changed since then. Growing with every word, knowing it is there for the world to share.
We all get busy, whether it be from holidays or others adventures that keep us off the soup, or not as vocal in our interactions. And this year has been a rollercoaster for me as well. I am looking around and seeing everyone, this is a great community.
Every poem I have posted has made me proud to call myself a poet. I have made contacts that I would have never expected and read words that have made me laugh, and words that have moved me to tears. Whether you are here as a "take the stress off my shoulders" poet or a "hardcore tip to top perfection" poet it is awesome we get to all be here.
I haven't been commenting as much as I would like, or hosting contests, even responding to my blogs as much as I would like because I've had a lot on my plate too. I'm proud to be writing a novel and volunteering extra days during the holidays. I just wanted to come up on here though and tell y'all how great you are and thank you for sticking around the site even when things get sticky.
Happy Holidays my friends and fellow verse venturers!!
Lots of love and words! xx
