I have a deep and philosophical theory to discuss
I comprehend this may be beyond the comprehension
of most of the people who attempt to comprehend this
so feel free to soup mail me and I will comprehend you...
Did Tiny Tim REALLY tiptoe through the tulips?
and if so, just how did he accomplish this feat?
I mean, this man stood over 6 feet and weighed 220
and his shoe size must have been well over 12
which would have made tiptoeing rather challenging
Perhaps he owned some custom made ballerina shoes?
Even if this is true, we have the garden soil problem
At that weight, surely he must have sunk to his ankles...

Then we have the difficult challenge of the first verse:
He demands that we ‘Tiptoe through the window’
then contradicts himself by singing ‘By the window’
My theory is that he must have had second thoughts
realizing that tiptoeing BY the window would suffice
The consequences of tiptoeing THROUGH a window
should be quite obvious even to the simplest of minds
(Injuries incurred could result in numerous lawsuits)

Now let’s get to the crux of this discussion shall we?
It’s obvious that Tiny Tim was speaking directly to me
After all, we share the same first name do we not?
I wonder if he wanted to hold hands while we tiptoed?
That would have been a DEFINITE no-no on my part!
I am heterosexual and have been told I am quite virile
I am as tolerant as the next person but I am NOT gay!!

Tiptoe through the window
By the window, that is where I'll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me

Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

Knee deep in flowers we'll stray
We'll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

I enjoyed your philosophy, Tim! Does make sense when one thinks about it! I remember Tiny Tim with his falsetto voice (in the 60s/70s). If I am not mistaken, he passed away several years ago (?). // paul

I had never thought about the window thing that you pointed out. You gave a lot of thought to his silly lyrics. Yes, how well I remember those times. I believe it was late 70's or early 80's when he became so popular. What a character he was with his fifteen minutes of fame. this was a fun read.

You said you worked hard on it and I am looking at your new poems and don't recognize it here, a poem that you wrote for my contest. In any event, let me see what this new one is about.
