Living the Moment

Learning His lessons at last
The past must die as the past
The future must never exist
So let the fates turn and twist
No time to berate and bemoan
Each instant is ever on loan
Right now is the now or never
Nothing but God lasts forever

*Written in the style of “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost...My favorite poem by my favorite poet

A great write and one to inspire! I wish I was better at living in the moment. I was born worrying about everything and is better when I'm lost in the simple pleasures of my children or lost in words on a page, my escapes from the need to overanalyze! Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Tim. Hugs, Rhonda

:) Such a thoughtful write! Fave line, "Each instant is ever on loan" I like how instant and ever bounce of each other! And the line really resonated to me. The only scary thing about death, to me, is that I want to be here as long as I can be for my girl. If I can live till she is 30, I can die feeling she is old enough... I want to ensure she has happiness, love, security around her. You always send such positive words to the universe... hugs and cheers, Cyndi

hey, you did great by emulating the style of Robert Frost. I just love that quote you noted. it was in that movie The Outsiders. So funny what you said about popeye. I researched the show before writing the poem and it said that SweePea was at first a 'ward" of Popeyes, and then later in newer versions of it on tv, sweepea became Olive Oyle's baby!! Hmmm, a single mother. hahaha
