Ending Up Being

Ending Up Being

By me many times my poem was corrected
So what if my poem were to be selected
As possible, potential, purified poem of the day
Then when it was what would other poets say?

Either they liked or were highly indifferent to it
Perturbed that some words didn't properly fit
After either being out of place and also line
Like should have been shone instead of shine.

With your minds my poems may start to mettle
As if boiling, bubbly water raising from a kettle
And then at each elegant word did sit and stare
Poem ended up adrift and floating high in the air.

All poets finally put two and two closely together
Never had been weather but instead was whether
Poets now formally flew in formation of a protest
What will make better poems become very best.

Changes were made of an infinite magnitude
That was corrected and could be properly viewed
Made poem worth reading while many were seeing
A Pulitzer Prize winner became and ended up being.

James Thomas Horn, Retired Veteran and Poet
Who is patriotic.
