If You Knew
If you knew it was your words that comfort me,
a blanket to hold me in my insecurity,
a light in the dark, a flame to keep me warm,
you are the umbrella to shield me from the storm.
But I don't know how to tell you you're the one,
my words are frayed like a sweater coming undone.
I'm quietly screaming to get your attention,
please for a moment look in my direction!
If you knew you're the reason I rise from bed
in the morning you're the first thought in my head.
Would you be my pillow, be more than a dream,
fill my galaxy with a kiss like a moonbeam.
What would happen if our worlds collide?
until then, in the shadows I hide.
If you knew I wrote this poem just for you,
what would you do? what would you do?
