So...sometimes we bicker and fight, sometimes we don't get along in our community, we get sad when there is a contest loss, we get excited when we win, we get down when we have few comments and we are proud when our poem view break 200.
This community is a community of poets, we are all trying to get our voice heard, and there is chatter everywhere, sometimes it is positive and sometimes negative. Why do we do it, why do we put up with the torture of critique? Why do we put ourselves at the mercy of strangers across the globe, who may or may not like what we have to say...we do it because it is not about us.
I dig all ya'll here, you know that, I try hard to get on, never saying a negative word, but I have seen dozens get discourgaged about the enviroment. I have too at one point wanted to throw up my hands and give up when I was being harassed in a negative way. But then someone told me once, it is not about who is on this site, it is about who you reach out to.
When other poets talk about searching for people who have plagerized their poems, it gave me an idea to google my most popular write on the site. My poem "Little Wishes" it was one of my first writes, a sweet mother daughter kinda thing (go read it...) and I found three pages that made my day....

this one used my poem to talk about her grandkids and

and this one made me cry....my poem was read in a dedication service and inspired this lady's blog about her child in a wonderful collection of photographs with my poem, and the struggle from a rough birthing process to her daughter now...(go see, it is emotional)
Now as far as I know, those three people are not on the soup, they didn't contact me to use my poem, but the tribute they paid in using it touched my heart and knowing I touched theres....
Our words are ripples in the world, we see the immediate thunk of our write in the water like a stone throw, but will we ever see the shores our waves kiss.
think about it, the world is a big place, and what you leave behind will find it's way to where it is meant to go. Be proud of what you post because one day it will come to shore.
