Contest Description

One original poem written on this theme "describing a scent from childhood that floods your being with nostalgia when you smell it today".

Once such scent is the aroma of sheets that have been dried on the clothesline. It has been a long time since I smelled that scent but it still brings back memories of the fresh sheets on my bed each Monday night.

Another scent was the aroma of cake layers fresh from the oven. My mother could bake the best cakes in the county. In the food area are items like fried chicken, vegetable soup that contained fresh garden vegetables. There are so many foods that gave off an aroma that delighted the nose so you have many choices here.

My mother always used Cashmere Bouquet soap which isn't in the stores around here anymore but when I get a whif of it I am instantly reminded of her. Also in this catagory is Jergens Lotion and my father's Old Spice cologne.

Pleasant memories writing this poem. Take your time and think about scents of your childhood.

Please pleasant scents only. I know some people had unpleasant childhoods but somewhere along the road there had to be at least one pleasant scent that you remember.
