There is a food from my childhood which was loved by all my family. We loved its smell, so recognizable, and its taste so good. My sisters and I learned how to fix it easily. We’d pop it up and eat it Sunday nights with Bonanza on tv! Roast beef comes in second place, but this salty snack smells so wonderful when it permeates the air, my mouth starts watering. I am ready to attack any popcorn, for when its scent invades my nosebuds, I could swear I turn into a very very eager hungry bear! Congratulations on your win in Sandra's contest, Andrea. The smell of popcorn brings me back to those happy days of Bonanza when my family and I gathered to watch our favorite show on TV. Memories are a part of our lives and our only regret is not being able to bring them back. I enjoyed reading your delightful poem. Have a wonderful Monday. Kind Regards, Andrew.

Awesome poem, Andrea. There is never any mistaking the smell of freshly popped popcorn. One of the things that can still be enjoyed today. Well done.

Enjoyed reading your work. I thought this one was you when I read it because you had told me how you loved popcorn and how much you ate of it. Thank you for your participation and congrats on it being on the winners' lineup. Sara

I love the title you picked for this!...so artfully crafted this one... being a horse girl, I watched Bonanza re-runs too. Of course I liked "Little Joe", but I liked "Adam's" horse the best :) Have a great day Andrea :)

I still make popcorn, but the ones in a bag are really bad for you, it has dangerous chemicals,  So it's better just to get a plastic container full of the kernals I wrote a poem all about the Jewish foods and friends that would come over   We will get to it eventually

OH, Andrea, I so agree with this. When I was young the invention of Jiffy Pop was the greatest thing since sliced bread; now all we have to do is zap that little package in the microwave. And popcorn always goes with your favorite beverage, whatever that may be. John

:) How sweet! When we were in the States, we'd watch Bonanza on TV. This poem brought good memories of happier times for me. As for popcorn...you can't go wrong with that. I like caramel popcorn...Lovely, dear. Good luck with the contest.

Had time to quick read messages - so sorry 'bout the Joel thing (yes, I love that name, too). This is delightful Andrea and it gave me my first idea for the contest. I had been wondering where my 'teach' would take this one, now I know and I loved the joy conveyed in your poem. Love you, too ... CayCay (me-doc for me)

Yum! Think I'll sign off for tonight and go throw a bag in the microwave. (In Bonanza days, we used a covered skillet to shake.) Thanks for the memory.

There are two foods everyone loves, ice cream and popcorn, and you are right about the scent
