Love's Kingdom
“Love’s Kingdom”
I ask you,
what more of importance is there
outside of Love’s Kingdom?
Love -
all consuming
Its weighty promises
luring us like a magician, like a poet
further, and further in
on flimsy sentences of
Faith
we give our lives away
without hesitation,
we do it willingly
heavily invested in
Hope -
we are all drawn
further and further in
Love speaks to us without speaking
speaks Its freedom
speaks Its absolute dominion
we move towards it, in the end
like hypnotised sheep;
Love does not knock on doors.
Love waits for us
to call –
we fall, oh do we fall,
further and further in
until the net score
in the end game
is matched
Love All.
Candide Diderot. ‘25
"And now these three remain:
Faith, Hope and Love.
But the greatest of these is LOVE".
