Notes About The Poem

Umbrellas

"Umbrellas"

Tears fall heavy on their poetry umbrellas they use as shields,
underneath the heart sits like a bucket empty of sunlight,
it attempts to reassure them some storms are meant to be -
the purpose to uproot them like dandelions
scattered to all corners of strange worlds, pages and stories read like maps,
there, in those places, the seeds fall and are planted;
they take to growth, in the soil, or not;

sometimes the Sun gets in
sometimes the eyes in hidden faces
are sometimes seen uplifting;

the mind hijacked,
blindfolded, gagged and ignored
is bestilled - again -
the heart stands before it,
sometimes it speaks for all
that has gone on before;

in that place, sometimes
the Sun gets in, it burns,

it leaves its imprint

Matthew 18:3 (NIV)

actually....the entire chapter. Matthew 18 (NIV).

...how all that applies to the feelings and the survival mechanism of children (and children turned adult) child s-a survivors - will be taken on, or disgarded, in their own unique way. Many child s-a survivors would not be high in the 'forgiveness' factor. Respect and trust is walking a thin line, after walking on eggshells.
