Premium Member Psychology Of Poetry

psyches of all bards and writers
synchronized crowd swimming in waters
yuppies and brave souls unheard by all
chanting audience in an imaginary stall
hearts we hide as words unfold
on paper and scrolls, always young never old
lasting ink or cellphone battery so strong
of thinkers and scribblers of prong
genetics of poetry or honed skill
your poetry in a song that inspires and fill

only the strong survives and remain
filaments of musing, project and pertain

poetic justice is justice for all
or no balance like a bouncing ball
ever and never will an artist to surrender or fall
triumphant in all writings, big or small
remnants of your undying soul
yours is the scepter and crown and tiara
  like winner takes all

Far Side Sound Off

Eight men
One objective
Countouts holds the combat
In penalty for 2 minutes
Disqualification holds the
Combatants for 4 minutes
( they gotta get it in)
Mid way through four men
Will team for one score
That team to them divide
( they say it's the same song
Just the harmony is different)
Two teams no DQ
Two teams no countout
Team Challenge
Last two men
Winner takes all
Bankday Brawl
Trophy Series
Tally up the scores.

Premium Member Covid Times

hospitals overflow, all are helpless
fear of death enveloping other fears
covid threat challenging our core concepts
looking on, we can but wipe away tears

no cure exists, yet placebos vanish
police force to dispel crowds at chemists
winner takes all; it is fight or perish
feral ferocity today persists

reflections show, what we like not to see
chivalry values, Cinderella dreams
as a collective whole, ugly fury
moment to moment horror stories stream

in midst of this storm, please light a candle
weary souls look to the lighthouse signal

Winner Takes All

Winner takes all

He sat on the sofa feeling disgruntled, watching TV
about a young woman who read a poem about hill climbing.
I have climbed many hills, he said to himself,
but there was always a steeper hill to conquer.
Take sport, he said, women win everything you care to mention
even football and ice-hockey the last bastion for men has been invaded
to the newspapers delight, of course, the editors are women,
as are the contributors; it isn’t fair.
His wife enters. She has been on the treadmill for an hour,
asks him if he has done the dishes? No! He says folding his arms in protest.
Do them now the cleaning lady is coming, she may think badly about us.
Triumph, at last, he thinks, typical female worries about silly things.

Apple oatmeal bars. There is only one on the shelf.
Two of us reach for the last box.
It is a brutal struggle.
She lands on the floor.
But she is still holding the box.
You do not even like those oatmeal bars,
My husband reminds me.
I know, but now it is the principal of the thing.
It is winner take all.
I am in for the win.
We are reaching for each other’s hair.
She gets the first grab.
Ouch!
Stay out of this, I warn him.
This is a sister’s thing.
It’s on!

Premium Member The Christian Race- Giving Your All To Jesus

The prince of Persia comes with temptations
as attractive as a filled shopping mall
but such a gift is very small
when compared to what is at stake
when we heed unto Jesus' call.

The race is never dull
and you'll never be alone
in an empty hall
so stand tall
like the Apostle Paul.
The threat from any obstacle or wall
Our Maker will make void and null.

Surrender to the Saviour
give him your all
you may seldom fall
but rise up and continue moving
like a rolling ball
on its way to the goal post

Don't give up like Saul
just because adversities
make the race as bitter as gall.
strive to get there
cos at the end, the winner takes all

Drag Me Back To Hell

Drag Me Back to Hell
By Kevin Robey
April 13, 2013

Drag me back to hell, might as well
See this spirit swell, go ahead and dwell
You’re shocked you say, you didn’t know anyway
Didn’t see the inner me, wait till my smile frays

It’s a story you will write, a boy once so bright
His skin didn’t burn, but he did lose his sight
If you think he fell so far, see through the lies
It became his demise, the demon’s great prize

Regardless the heights his war-torn heart soared
The darkness pulled him down and closed the door
He fought all along, and the entire way down
But he had to please the misery and drown

Its winner takes all for everyone involved
There was hope once before but has since dissolved
Back to the darkness, with crimson comes the knife
When the sentence is read, it is twenty nine to life

Premium Member Forged Lottery Tickets

In a game of chance where winner takes all
Won one million pounds on the last ball,
To celebrate my win
Marriage gave way to sin,
The Judge demands a national recall.

Money Power Control
Pay attention kids I will now explain to you the rules of engagement
Wealth crushes power but amounts to control
Paper covers the books of both Christians Jews Muslims all religions alike
Scissors cuts through the political rhetoric of all major parties
This is the game these are your rules
1, 2, 3, Begin's the game of fools
Winner takes all the runner up receives this
A life without money feeling powerless a total lack of control
Rocked crushed to debt by political insurance that cuts your health
And religious institutions that don't quantify ones faith
It's an expanded form of the game
But as you can see the rules remain unchanged
Monkey see monkey doo
While all along we knew we knew ! !
