Whence didst craft stopped the Winds of War,
and bring forth peace, forevermore.
Exact it is a slumber hence,
awaken sorts some recompense,
weary minds do not ask for more.
Sub base, Washington, in Bangor,
breaths a sigh scares I, what they store.
A misty boy loss -- skilless, thence.
... whence didst craft stopped?
Cajole lilacs replace the lore
and roses are just an eyesore.
Uke skilled guitar sing praise dispense,
days of guns and roses silence.
Claims I, etching muse sings a score
... whence didst craft stopped?

Violet’s an arrogant bossy cow
I know the farmer knows this now
Luke the farmer says, “It's time to mate her”
Evan the bull moos, “No deal, I hate her”
Violet will not go near the bull
Alas she’ll soon be for the cull
Cos she’s costing money to be fed
Her refusal means soon she’ll be dead
Ending up on our dinner plate

under southern skies
chitlins fry corn pones cooking
then molasses pie
trees still drip from rain
summer breeze wanders on by
man in moon smiling
guitar and a uke
play songs we all try to sing
warbles in the night
watching the stars fly
little ones sleep on blankets
too happy to cry
pleasant can't get much better
night whispers its surrender

I have a concert uke
It's my favourite possession
It’s all I can talk about
It's becoming an obsession
Playing day and night
Loudly singing out of key
Wildly optimistic
About my ability
Learning all the cheat chords
And faking all the rest
I play the only strum I know
Hoping for the best
And now I have uke envy
I haunt the music store
Looking at other ukes
And wanting to buy more
Boring everyone to tears
With my ukulele chat
I’m a ukulele fan now….
And there’s no going back

I turn back pages of memories,
I see the faces of mom and thee,
She plays the uke and its melodies,
Both sing along, harmoniously,
Shakespeare knew of thee, called out your name,
Verbatim in detail, all the same,
'Twas not planned, 'tis mom who laid its claim,
Gave you your name, that William gave fame,
Time and again, you fought the battle,
The doctors, nurses, endless prattle,
Years decisions of how to grapple,
Of holding on life's dire struggle,
Pain, suffering, and surgical scars,
Birthday's, anniversary's, postcards,
Sent with my love, and deepest regards,
Hoped for the best, in prayerful words,
Your giant husband, a gentle man,
Stayed by your side whenever he can,
Took sister's girl, as part of your clan,
Nay aunt but mom, simply much more than,
I heard your loss in final stages,
Hurt am I, though in Heaven's graces,
Sad, yet, you are in better places,
Now you and mom share angel's faces.

Where I grew up; Texas
Country music is king
Three songs for a quarter
And the Juke Box would sing
When it’s Saturday night
It’s Grand Old Opry time
Turn the radio on
Grab a chair and recline
Hank was the top singer
His songs came from the heart
So much great music lost
Because his life was short
No other then or since
Composed song after song
Could sing and record them
Each a hit before long
His music inspired
Learned a Uke; then Guitar
To play and sing like Hank
His music took me far
Now I have my own band
Bluegrass most of the time
Still play one of Hanks songs
They always sound so fine
I still love his music
Play and sing all his hits
Thank you Hank Williams
You’re as good as it gets

If the grandkids come to visit
In the nice warm summer time
Our favorite way to babysit
Is to go outside to dine
Out behind the cabin,
Is a fire pit in the round
With lots of wood available
From trees that we’ve cut down
Our dinner will be hot dogs
We’ll cook them on a stick
Then sit down on a great big log
Don’t put mustard on too thick
As we sit around the campfire
No doubt we’ll sing a song
All Together we’ll be a choir
And I’ll have my uke along
Then we’ll let the fire burn low
Toast Marshmallows til they’re brown
Embers pop out, continue to glow
They can burn and make you frown
Now douse the fire it’s getting late
It’s time for the kids to retire
What we did today that was truly great
Was have fun around the old Campfire
