Abandonment and Other Magic Tricks

I hope he makes you feel 		   at home
hope it’s sweet when he’s singing you songs

I’m sorry I choked 	  chewing on 
my own tongue for too long

You’ve moved out
		and moved on
Making vacancy space inside my arms
but there’s something I’m still clung on

Vagabond who can’t wander on
or let go of that glimmer

cuckoo tricks bush warbler

the cuckoo is a lazy trickster
she lays her eggs in bush warbler’s nest

Bush warbler is tricked by cuckoo bird.
She thinks the eggs are hers.
Takes care of them until they hatch
And then raises cuckoo’s baby as her own.

I'm Magic

When just a lad, I thought I was magic,
Doing a trick can sometimes be tragic.
The bird sang the wrong song,
The rabbit was long gone,
When they booed, I got very dramatic.

Nature’s Tricks

Butterless flies flutter by
and dragons without fire fly.
	Over and under, 
	curious wonder.
Nature’s tricks do mystify.

Spooks the masks, costumes, candies, norms, and dolls
Three little boys on the prowl
That looks displaced, strange, and foul
Their sights were on scaring with their eyeballs
