A Fault In YOUR Sentiment

I yearn for not but your devotion true
A sacred bond you must uphold
You breathed me in the breath I drew
Yet love runs from you faint and cold

Have I transgressed? I toil in vain,
Yet still, you shun my desperate plea.
Affection spurned, a heart in pain,
Forsaken in this MISERY.

Hey, sire, would you ever love?
“I do not, I do not care.”
Can you take me seriously?
“You’re young and stupid.”

Not a day by without the wonder
Of the lack of sentiment you bring
Reflection, though not a blunder
So in your fault I now can sing.

I walked beneath the streetlight, then, slow paused;
the yellow phosphorescent glow had caused
a strange shadow to hover above mine;
hesitate a while, then did intertwine;
a margin which it long ago transgressed;
an unwanted, and uninvited guest.
Streetlights, nightlights, the shadow is the same;
it is my shadow, mine, I am to blame.

West of the Rockies,
North of the border.
Lay a little town,
Of law and order.

With one Tin Star,
And Deputies three.
Nobody transgressed,
Nobody but me.

On that fateful day,
Near the edge of town.
With my Colt 45,
Shot the Sheriff down.

I had whiskeyed head,
And bloodshot eyes.
On a stolen horse,
Was caught by surprise.

The Deputies three,
That I confounded.
Out of the shadows,
Had me surrounded.

With no other choice,
I dropped my gun.
Then raised my hands,
Under Noonday sun.

A few moments later,
I was put in a cell.
Waiting for the Judge,
To send me straight to Hell.

I was soon found guilty,
By a twelve-man jury.
Right up the gallows,
For the Hangman's fury.

As the trapdoor opened,
I couldn't help thinking.
This wouldn't have happened,
If I hadn't been drinking.

The Confession

He admitted he was sorry and that he had transgressed
The look of guilt upon his face just couldn’t be suppressed
The evidence was undisputed - there for all to see
And I was really quite annoyed when he confessed to me

I’d made the cake for his sister whose birthday would be soon
But he couldn’t wait for the party to be held that afternoon
The sight of cream and strawberries was more than he could bear
And so he scoffed the bloomin’ lot, so greedy and unfair!

I looked at him quite sternly; what was I going to say
To make him fully realise the error of his ways?
With folded arms and furrowed brow I took a threatening stance
In order to rebuke him for this most serious offence

‘So, what are we to do with you? You’ve eaten all the cake
Your sister won’t be happy and I’m sure that she will make
A fuss and carry on, oh, what am I to do?
I’ll never hear the end of this and it’s all thanks to you’

With trembling lip and teary eye he looked up at me and said
‘But, mom, it looked so yummy; please don’t send me to bed’
And then I realised how much I love my son, my pride and joy
Oh, how could I be mad at him, my darling little boy!

The Columbia

Visit my soul Great River of the West.
Come touch my heart with your absolute truth,
Pausing for no one on your ocean’s quest.

You teach to forgive; now I, in turn blest
In wisdom of age. My fears you reduce.
Visit my soul Great River of the West.

You nurtured mankind. Suckling your breast,
Any and all, on your western pursuit,
Pausing for no one on your ocean’s quest.

Ice-driven turmoil, mountains transgressed,
Laid forth verdant glades, their riches profuse.
Visit my soul Great River of the West.

Your waters and shores corrupting the best,
Your treasures and gifts men tried to seduce,
Pausing for no one on your ocean’s quest.

Your praise with my prayer, mine gifts I confess,
The peace of old age, the joys of my youth.
Visit my soul Great River of the West,
Pausing for no one on your ocean’s quest.

Exposed In Darkness

Memories became trapped in the shade of an eclipse,
Light that they once held gone, buried in feelings of transgressed sin.
All hope bled out of me through the scars in which you had left.
Slowly my heart started to shrivel and desiccate from within.

*”Exposed in Darkness.” is a four-line verse taken from my original poem, “The Falling.” Date: December 2nd, 2020. Intended for the entry of the Liberum Divisa 3 contest.*

Premium MemberO Raven, Evil Raptor of My Death

“Raptor of death! Wherefore seek'st thou me?” Poe's
Raven craves me during the hours of night,
     an omen of despair that brings no light;
but instead gives birth to all my dark woes,
tears, doom, and pain that only God well knows.
At midnight, when the moon reaches its height,
     Poe's evil Raven plagues me by moonlight;
then multiplies a thousandfold my sorrows!
O, where have I sinned and transgressed, dear God,
that I must suffer from this sad despair,
this disease of the soul (like a heathen unshod)!?
No matter; I'll write hymns for Thee, then bear,
and drink my cup of woe, grief, then praise, laud
Thee still: and wait for Thy help to appear!

Lovers Young Couples in Love--

Close-up warn taking off
Running from my tainted cross
The clothes I wear I discard in despair
Alone in Throne lost

Lovers young couples in love

Swollen feet implanted arrest
Fatuated brooks of disgust
Fleshy heart in love not in lust
Clothes chosen lovers clothes on not off

Lovers young couples in love

I place my hand gently at the nap of her neck
Propose righteously embracing her into a gentle kiss
And it is I am my beloved chosen One
Engaging me placed hand on me fingers spread apart
You're the true love of my fleshy heart

Lovers young couples in love

Encased ring engaged to me if I run falter
Walking down the altar
I am the man you are the bride chosen
Together alone unlike misguided drones
the view is transgressed as we witness
When it was our wedding bliss
I now pronounce you man and wife you may kiss your bride

As I run from your goodness
Your righteousness, should be my completeness
But I have digress, guess I've yes, transgressed
You are but so ever meaning full
putting the rapid before the hole
Spiraling down, spinning round spinning down
Rapid desension,haven't repented
Now I'm headed for Hades

Premium MemberOver To You Little *****

Raging Red nailed by reason to controlled anger
Shaded disappointment lies deceit corroding grey
White like the bathroom cleaner You swallowed

The smell of empty boundaries transgressed
Rusty razorblades oozing blood and manipulation
Distasteful taste of rotting matter mottled flesh

Colouring outside a medley of confused emotions
A striking demonstrative match incinerating
Abusing trust respect compassion care and shooting
Salvos like a paint ball onto pained grave canvas

Surely a polychromatic cry for helping with the
‘What’ the ‘Self’ the self-destructive saturation

But mind you this is a chance now one opportunity
To link from dot to dot your bleeding droplets
Yours to own disown your brush to break or stroke

Premium MemberLoneliness

Laughing so loud it drowns out the silence
In a room without sound
I feel for the walls in the darkness
Praying I don't lose focus

It was all just a sham really
Their voices fade to a droll hum
Just rattling around in my brain
It leaves me quite aghast

Avast ye lonely moon in the sky
Your light splashes across my bedroom
And silver turns scarlet
The quintessential nocturne

The laughs turn twisted
My eyes alit in sapphire fire
My heart frayed and twinged with regret
For the sins I've yet transgressed

All the baubles in the world shan't save me
Not from the nightmares that visit me each night
Reminding me when my laughter ceases
My room is a tapestry of sorrow

Aye I find me a nice corner
And there I bury my head in my hands
Pearls of sadness leaking from my eyes
Such a pitiful little creature I am

In life it is easy to love
But it is hard to be loved
In life it is hard to be missed
But it is easy to miss

If I open my eyes I could pierce the sky
With a strangled cry
Crying so loud it drowns out the silence
In a room full of sound

How High

HOW HIGH

Mountains and Mole hills,
Intimidations or Simple Contemplations-
depends how high you wish to fly !

When Neanderthals transgressed the land
it was wonderous to meet each meal-
yet, now we dine in a minutes time.

Watching the birds fly about,
for many years we desired its convenience-
until we walked up on the moon.

Mountains and Mole Hills,
Intimidations or Simple Contemplations-
depends how high you wish to fly !

Forgiveness Now

How long does it take
For the Old Sin to wash away
Will there be a time when
Forgiveness becomes the cry
For those who have transgressed
And crossed the line in the sand

Do we start again at this time
Or have they been punished enough
Even when executions occur
The opinion is that they have
Paid the price for their deeds
And allowed to rest in peace.

Manchester

You do what you do to push forth your views
But what you choose is abuse, and we have to lose?
Killing our kids isn't fair, your beliefs?..... we don't care
Allah is merciful, God is great, do you think that you're rare?
You will answer one day for the sins you've transgressed
Believing you can push your agenda on the West
Constantly, incessantly, we are bombarded with bombs
Why is your thinking so wrong? Can't we all get along?
You're singing the same old song, you are right, we are wrong
Sorry to say, you better pray God's memory isn't long
All the scriptures I've read, don't insist someone's dead
To prove a point, or anoint, what's wrong in your head?

He stares into the lighthouse fire
an ant in the hole
Against his throat rests the wire
a life that his beloved stole
When suddenly the sparks' igniter
is pieces of a whole
Far from his ancestral shire
he digests the mole
Betrayal for something shining brighter
he takes time to patch his soul
She stole from him his final lyre
but he will regain control

After all that's transgressed, there's nothing left
No longer will he be drowned in the reft
