The speaker of the poetry verse…
tra-la-la happy
or spinning on bicycle
endlessly seething
the poet’s plotting
the speaker’s demise or life
without permission
…is in dread
the poet rubs her palms
wiggles her fingers in dupe
haiku in motion
the reader forgets
the muse is behind the gears
the film’s flickering
…resigned to my whims
somewhere the poet
is hidden in the message
in darkness and light
the speaker
of the poetry verse
is in dread
resigned to my whims.
reader deciphers
shuffling pages & pages -
the muse or poet?
up to you reader
make me ill or be amused
it’s all up to you
resigned to my whims, is in dread of the poetry verse - the speaker.

Buoyant orange flames leap like a leopard stalking the sun. Posthumously, the mountain of smoke and ash collapsing on itself, selfishly stomping out joy, but for the Aurora Borealis, the joykill of skullduggery. Her light like song notes, tra-la-la-ing. Her beauty, unscrupulous, to the roaring volcanic beast.

Only in my dreams do flowers sing
while petals reach out for the sun
and Oh I love the way they gleam at night
with colors rich and bright
Only in my dreams do flowers hum
like cherry bombs in paradise
and Oh I love the way they sway
with their happy faces gay
Only in my dreams do flowers dance
as they frolic to and fro
and Oh I love the way they smell
with their magic casting spell

Rescue me from boughs of folly
Tra la la la la, such misery
‘Tis the time to make most jolly
Tra la la la, la, it’s blizzardly.
Heavy coats and boots we’re wearin’
Tra la la la la, la … la, la, la!
Department Santas, they’s a-swearin’
Tra la la la la … la, la, la, la!
Why can’t I find all the presents
Tra la la la la, it’s such a drag,
Things on back order for us peasants
Tra la la la, la, a fretful lag.
Shopping’s such a painful process
Tra la la la la, la … la, la, la!
So far I’m having little success
Tra la la la la, la … la, la, la, la!

A parody of “The Last Waltz” song written by: Barry Mason and Les Reed
One Last Ode
I wondered if I’d write ever again
Inklings of my heart that flow through my pen
Then words came cascading from sky up above
Freewheelin’ mystic glimmers of love.
I wrote one last ode for you
Two lonesome dreamers together
Head o'er heels were we two
One last ode to last forever.
‘Twas balladry kept us going strong
Through the ups and downs we got along
Until there was a parting of the tide
And the gap between us became ocean wide.
I wrote one last ode for you
Two lonesome dreamers together
Head o'er heels were we two
One last ode to last forever.
Love’s never gone, memories linger on
Sweet souvenirs of passions refraining...
Tra la la la la la tra la la
Tra la la la la la tra la la
I wrote one last ode for you
Two lonesome dreamers together
Head o'er heels were we two
One last ode to last forever.
Tra la la la la la tra la La

A Villanelle Tra La La
Tra la la-I couldn't stop thinking bout this song
Twas just so minuscule and kind
This I could never forget this verse twangs bings-bongs
That morn, hearing this new verse encounters so long a song
The song so calming settling each and every line
This musical verse couldn't stop thinking about the song
Later, ringing singing tra-la-la
I tried to focus on angelic ringing bells
I can't, could never forget the twang
tried to distract sounds with a versed-line
Tra la la it was time to start thinking about this line
Tra la la couldn't stop ringing it's bells-bongs
This I could never forget this verse twangs bings-bongs
Twas just so minuscule and kind
Tra la la-I couldn't stop thinking bout this song
I can't, could never forget the twang
I tried to focus on angelic ringing bells
Later, ringing singing tra-la-la
Tra la la-I couldn't stop thinking bout this song

A RATTLING RHYME
Hannah McCustopha, married to Mustapha,
Couldn’t stop chattering, just like her dear Mama.
Yat ta ta Ya ta ta, Na ta ta Na ta ta.
That was the cause of Ma’s parting from her papa.
The feminine side of the family McCustopha,
Famous for talking from New York to Omaha.
Tourists came just to hear them from near and from far.
Tra la la Tra la la, Tra la la Tra la la.
Mustapha finally, tired of her repertoire,
Stowed her away in the trunk of a motor car,
With plenty of food and some tea in a samovar,
And paid a cab driver to drop her in Dacca.
There should have been peace evermore for Mustapha.
But, sadly, he hasn’t achieved it so far.
For every night in his dreams he hears Hannah.
Ya ta ta Ya ta ta, Na ta ta Na ta ta

Come away with me, come away with me
Let’s tra la la, la la la come away together
Come away with me, come away with me
Let’s tra la la, la la la come away together
Let’s take a journey forth, take a trip to the love court
Come, come with me
Happiness is around my heart for all time;
Girl a gentle little kiss will let me know our mind
Come away, come away with me;
Together let’s be true lovers now if only the world could see;
How beautiful glorious abound that your (my) true love is see;
Girl a gentleness a sweet tender kiss be
Come away come away with me;
Let me take you away from all the pains and dismay
Happiness joy, love kisses forever more
Venturing to far off places seeing and meeting friendly faces;
Let’s give love a chance come on let’s love and romance;
Won’t ya please come away, with me?

Ho-hum, another poem
Need a rhyme -- Carpe diem
Some ask why...tra-la-la
Ordered pizza cooked by Lisa
I was a poet, but then I blew it
Cursed my editor; it didn't matter
'Cos now I'm a rich, son-of-a-beach
I got me a gig in the major leagues
I heard a rumor that life's a bummer
And that marathoners have no sense of humor
My ox, a horse gored; I was super-scared
But I turned the horse into horse-radish sauce
Non-sequiturs? -- Who the hell cares?
Smokey the Bear put out a fire here...
My rhyming's inane, you've doubtless opined
This objective in mind, to reach readers unseen

Placid winter cuddles close, lacing exotic spring.
Tapestry of flowers, birds in heavenly wings.
Wakes up a green canopy, exalted in chirpy trill
Peeps, cheeps in rhythm, clatter in medley thrill.
Dappled throat, bright feather, flitters branch to branch.
Gyrating chest in trees, notes perch in avalanche
Tra la la.. chick a dee dees cheer, orchestra in chorus.
Red blue Robin, Cardinal...songbirds..so gorgeous.
Songs of love, waddling dance, bugles of mating calls.
Titillating tunes, virulent envy, conceals clever eyeballs.
Nuzzling beaks love wives and chicks, "its my territory."
Crescendo of man and bird..isnt it the same love story?
------------------///------------////--------------///-----------///---------
It is established that songbirds sing with the
objective of attracting female mating partners
and also to broadcast their range of territories.

I call for you, I listen in the air;
I long for your voice to whisper through the trees;
Envisioning a pretty view, of you running barefoot ;
Through flowers;
Darling, please do;
As you go tra-la-la away...
Traveling through the fields and valleys;
Shouting out God's name, first praising His son...Jesus;
Do you have time for me;
Why your liken the wind, flying;

Didn’t digest my all-dressed pizza
Suffering now from insomnia
A touch of every possible phobia
Mostly of ravenous bacteria
And humongous tarantula
O yes, and the sordid mafia
Did I call my Grandmamma
Did I put away the spatula
Did I book girls’ day at the spa
Did all the bourgeois really die of cholera
I’m drowning under this plethora
Remind me What’s that formula
O yes, Abracadabra
Tra-la-la and La-di-da
And poof now I’m in a gondola
On the way to utopia
Dressed in graceful taffeta
Eating baklava in the basilica
Hanging from the candelabra
Swinging to the tunes of Lady Gaga
Supported by the silliest orchestra
Hey you Pass me the foie gras
I have a cockeyed camera
You’ll see me at the cinema
I love you Etcetera Etcetera
