Notes About The Poem

Throwback poem "Stirring Up Suspense," the poem that landed me on Poetry Soup after a dear poet asked me if she could put this poem on her blog. Then she told me about Poetry Soup. I will always be thankful to Bonnie Jennings! I am grateful to so many along the way!

Haiku in Motion

The speaker of the poetry verse…

tra-la-la happy
or spinning on bicycle
endlessly seething

the poet’s plotting
the speaker’s demise or life
without permission

                                                  …is in dread

the poet rubs her palms
wiggles her fingers in dupe
haiku in motion

the reader forgets
the muse is behind the gears
the film’s flickering

                                                                     …resigned to my whims

somewhere the poet
is hidden in the message
in darkness and light

the speaker
   of the poetry verse
      is in dread
         resigned to my whims.

reader deciphers shuffling pages & pages - the muse or poet?
up to you reader make me ill or be amused it’s all up to you resigned to my whims, is in dread of the poetry verse - the speaker.

What a wonderful, creative use of the haiku form to express the life of a poet, Kim! So soulful yet lyrical with drama! Blessings!

It takes two views to write poetry.. I always read mine several times out loud. I relate to your poem.

I’m the same way. Even after I post, I read again and sometimes have to edit.

Genius! I am completely in awe at your arrangement of words. I am glad you dug this old one up- we can get inspired or inspire "it's up to you"- raw talent there, even then- dear poetess <3 xx

"he poet rubs her palms wiggles her fingers in dupe haiku in motion" -- Love it! Always allow the reader to participate, often the poet declaring too much. We are tempters, sweets and wine -- allow the reader to go deeper, passing the rein to his core of our rhyme. You get a FAV!
