And suddenly I don’t have to wonder
how I was supposed to live without you.
I don’t have to think about you loving someone else,
or how I could ever love another person
the way I love you.
I never thought I’d react so strongly to news like this,
but for months I’ve felt this strange sadness
I couldn’t explain.
Everything in my life was going well,
I was winning tournaments,
going out with friends,
getting good grades,
receiving sports offers,
and somehow I still felt empty.
Teachers kept asking if I was okay
because I always looked exhausted.
And the strange thing was,
everything at home was fine.
I just felt sad all the time
and I never understood why.
But then you told me you were staying.
And suddenly the weight on my chest disappeared.
Maybe the reason I was hurting so much
was because I was terrified of losing you.

A Blue Knight appears
The ladies all swoon
The maidens favourite
Known far and wide

They ready for battle
Shields are in place
Masks of armour
Covering their face
Towards each other

That the heavy breathing induced by exercise

Of those engaged in anaerobic exercise.

-Daydreaming,
-Scheming (aka conspiring with imaginary friends)
-Meditation…without chanting

-Thinking, but only about the things presented in our booklet

The opponent defenders had to invent new strategies
to foil his rhythmic moves with the ball toward goalpost,
he could make lyrical way outwitting all their attempts
to see the ball like lightning hit the net behind the bars.
The shining star of his country’s illustrious football team,
he led from the front to win many major tournaments.
A legend in his life time, he was the pride of Argentina,
the creator of poetry in motion, he was Maradona.

With the magnetic pair of fleeting legs like a wizard,
spearheaded the formidable formation of the team.
The opponent defenders had to invent new strategy
to thwart your crafty moves leading to the goalpost,
but you could make your way foiling all their attempts
to see the ball flash and hit the net behind the bars.
You were the backbone of your country’s team of fame,
that you led to winning many prestigious tournaments.

As a kid, he climbed the highest trees
walked to the end of thin, jouncing branches
grinning, while those below him shook with fear
His teen years were taken up with his 'machine'
whose engine he souped up to play 'chicken'
racing to the edge of cliffs, rebel without a cause
In his 20's and 30's, he hit the casinos nightly
beating the house just often enough
to stay ahead of the payments on all four of his cars
At 50, he took up bungee jumping
entering tournaments, spending six months
in the hospital that year, two months in rehab
Turning 60, he refused to wear a mask
A matter of principle, he told me
His principles landed him in the hospital again
He went from ventilator to grave in four days
Alabaster annoyance
Blatantly breathes bulbous brightness
Cadaverous comedy caring
Daintily during delicate delivery
Exciting elderly enigma.
Furious fiery feeler
Gregariously greets
High-handed hustler
Ignoring imaginative immediates
Jauntily jeering judiciously.
Kangaroo kisses kibitzes
Leaving luxurious loners
Merrily masticating mincemeat.
Never-do-wells needing knowledge
Ostentatiously officiate on orange orangutans.
Precariously polite Pomeranians
Quietly quiz querulous quoters
Reposing rapidly ruining
Still sassy strenuous strikers
Turning toward Tuesday tournaments.
Understandably unprecedented underlings
Vindicate vicious vagrants
While wishing waxy widows would
‘xpect ‘xciting ‘xacting ‘xtras.
Youngish yellow yowls yipping
Zipping zany zebras’ zealous zero zone.

Martin works at a KFC in Glasgow, where he’s from,
And so plays football on their team. Internationally,
He’s played in three major tournaments, not a con,
Because he’s on the Scotland team unequivocally.
He played at school but was discriminated against,
So picked up disability football to make a go of it,
Therapy improved his agility greatly, he did persist,
‘Cos on the pitch he lacks the control others pit.
He was playing on a disabled placement scheme,
When a coach duly noticed him, asking for interest,
So he enlisted in the GB and in the Scotland team,
Making his Paralympian debut at Rio: 5th to chest.
Walking my tiger home alone
In the background and unknown
With a rag I polish a club
Then you take it with a snub
I walk around keeping stats
Wet my finger for wind on flats
Calculate yards from here to there
So dimpled ball will stay in the air
As fast as you behind I lag
The difference is I carry your bag
All in white in bright coveralls
Marking the spot to place your balls
On the green is usually where
Sometimes you don't I won't go there
Have no problem choosing the club
Throwing it back an uneasy rub
I go the distance for eighteen
Making sure you make the green
Many tournaments you have won
Some are due to the work I've done
Raise the cup enjoy the win
I can take it on the chin
Beside you like some garden gnome
Here I'm walking my Tiger home
