We went once, then thrice again,
Pushed through struggles all in vain.
A mountain of trust came crashing down,
By jealousy small, it wore the crown.
We went once, then five times near,
Yet still too late, it was clear.
Regret consumed for futile tries,
While memories lingered, and hopes would rise.
We went once, then ten times more,
Took on tasks we couldn’t restore.
"Next time, we’ll succeed," we’d say,
Dreaming idly, wasting the day.
We went once, then a hundred rounds,
Through winter, spring, and autumn grounds.
Envy burned for others’ gift,
While hearts with bitterness did drift.
We went once, then a thousand ways,
Madness met us in the haze.
Chasing dreams that weren’t to be,
We lost it all, our destiny.
"How are you, my friend ?"
I am not nice
I am full of vice
and sometimes, yes, I do entice
I don't like pasta, I take rice
and if you invade my temple
I'll trample you like mice
or squash you between the nails
like a loathsome lice
so before you ask me again
here's my advice
oh no, not twice better think thrice.
did it suffice ?
or shall I say more...
in this life, how I am
how I remain
where we always pay the price
no matter how much we try to spice
being born IS the sacrifice
and I ask you, if God does not,
then who is throwing the dice?
hey, I may be a little bitter
but my heart is not ice
there is nobody
who is not a little bryce
and trapped like a hungry wolf
in their own device.

plane is very far away
looks from very far
It moves very slowly.
Always the Lord loves us much
not just thrice a day…
let's thank Him, spreading joy's peace!
God bountifully provides
surpassing triple blessings…
let's share with others!
The Saviour knows best
yon three times of what we planned…
let's trust* His sovereign power!

Thrice as I am;
Thrice be it, I
Thrice, am I

Thrice death has knocked at the same door
Husband, wife, brother are all gone
Fell victims to COVID-19, which I abhor
Thus all have seen eternity's dawn!*

* I am mourning today the death of another member of my family who
passed on yesterday following the death of his sister and his brother-in-law.
At the same time, a first cousin has been rushed into an intensive care unit of COVID-19.
NOTE: THE FIRST COUSIN DIED TODAY - 11 JULY 2021. HE IS THE 4TH MEMBER OF THE SAME FAMILY THAT COVID-19 CLAIMS IN THREE MONTHS AND THE SIXTH OF MY IMMEDIATE FRIENDS THEREFORE I DO NOT FEEL WRITING POETRY FOR THE TIME BEING. GOD KEEP YOU SAFE. TAKE CARE.

Searching through the forest,
chasing dreams your sleep has wagered
And finding yourself in the mindless
spatial wasteland
You play two-handed poker
with the devil of your fright
The Prince holding just one card,
as you gamble it all…
Forever promising:
“This hand will be your ticket out”
He deals chance from the bottom,
this third time to be the charm
Your hand is folded,
as the present fires upon the night
Hitting your fate dead center,
all that’s left in quicker sand
Drowning the last excuse
of your bloodless past refusals
Salvation left in full retreat
—all exits thrice denied
(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2017)
Grey ashen permeates
Your solitary existence.
Locked and shackled
At your minds insistence.
Presented my lively colors
Of sacrifice.
Happy hues rejected,
Not once, but thrice.
Some comprehend not,
What others endure,
To give endless color,
For another's dim world.
They seep in pity,
Harbor anger, complain.
Their self loathing black,
Sets fire to rain.
They say death comes in threes
And love has killed me three times.
I am Lazarus and Odin,
I am Persephone
But I won't come back this time.
Yes, I could fly
But I like the sinking.
I sink like Osiris,
I am Lemminkainen
Dionysus has seen death and couldn't stop drinking
I am too drunk to follow Truth's direction
I can't make it right, I'm all that is left
I was whole and can bring charges to some for theft
And ask for the life of the one responsible for my death
Who has denied me thrice in one breath.
I'll be honest, my lovers maimed me but I committed suicide
I'm not as strong as Mother to spring back from winter
So don't look at me and decide I deserve life
My crimes are heinous and death still too good for a sinner
Donald Trump once asked for my advice
On whether he should wed more than twice.
I said,"If God smiles on ya,
You'll wed the sweet Melania.
And make your weddings an even thrice."
Well, he took my advice as you see,
And he never said thank you to me.
But all things considered still -
She looks good up on the hill,
And she can live in our house for free.

For contest Name Dropper Limerick for Kevin Shaw
bathed in such splendor
in front of us blue water -
verdancy behind
how very cold it is though
like ice, it cuts to the bone
this frigid beauty
I let my eyes feast on it
ignoring the cold
the scent of pine is wafting
I breathe in tranquility
breathing in fragrance
I let the iciness go
my love shall warm me
the fresh trees and ocean air
can’t compare to his sweet warmth

Why does your cat only have nine lives?
The cat o'nine whip has three strands
Plaited cords unraveled thrice
Nine to three, three to three.
Cat plays bold for three
Strays for next three,
Stays in for
last three
hides
Searching through the forest,
chasing dreams your sleep abandoned
And losing yourself in the mindless
spatial distance
You play two handed poker
with the devil of the night
The Prince holding only one card,
as you gamble it all…
Forever promising:
“This hand will be your ticket out”
He relays his wagered truth,
with a baton of shattered tears
But time recovers,
the present firing upon the night
Hitting it at last dead center,
the debris now quicksand
Drowning the last excuse
of your bloodless past refusals
Salvation now in full retreat,
—all exits thrice denied
